Downey Depot Transportation Center is constructed on the original Train Depot location that was established by the Southern Pacific Railroad to bring passengers and goods to a young community. Today Downey has matured into a quality, full-service city. Specific bus stop locations, which are accessible for persons with disabilities, may be obtained by calling (562) 529-LINK. Riding DowneyLINK is a bargain and pleasurable. Low fares and convenient, comfortable buses equipped with wheelchair lifts make DowneyLINK a positive travel experience. DowneyLINK is funded with the City of Downey s share of Los Angeles County s Proposition A and C voter approved measures, which provide funding specifically for public transit. 2 HOW TO READ THE DOWNEYLINK TIME SCHEDULE This map is an overview of the four circulating routes of the DowneyLINK Public Transit System. Each route is designed to take approximately 35 minutes to complete. Each route makes approximately 17 trips each day. All routes operate within the Downey City Limits. The time schedule reads from left to right. Departure times for each route from the Downey Depot Transportation Center are the first times listed on the left. Arrival times at the Downey Depot Transportation Center are on the right side of the schedule. The triangles on the map indicate the bus stops along each route. Further, the point of the triangle tells you which side of the street the bus will stop. The triangles represent Time Check Points the times each bus reaches that stop. To determine what time to be at your stop, if a time is not listed as a Time Check Point, look at the time checkpoint before your stop and use that as the time for your stop. Please note these times are not exact due to changing traffic conditions throughout the day so plan accordingly. Cada ruta esta diseñada para tomar approximadamente 35 minutos para completar. Cada ruta corre aproximadamente 17 viajes por dia. Todas las rutas corren por los limites de la Cuidad de Downey. El horario se lee de izquierda a derecha. La hora de salida para cada ruta en la terminal del centro de transportacion es el primer horario que aparece al lado izquierdo. El horario de la llegada a la terminal aparece al lado derecho. Los triangulos en el mapa indican las paradas del autobus para cada ruta. Ademas, el punto del triangulo indica de que lado de la calle para el autobus. Los triangulos representatan el punto de hora ( Time Check Point ) que cada autobus llega a la parada. Para determinar a que hora usted debe de llegar a la parada del autobus donde no hay hora marcada, observe el punte de hora antes de su parada y use ese tiempo para su parada. Residents who cannot ride the DowneyLINK bus route system who are a senior citizen (50 years or older), or a person with a disability, may qualify to ride the City of Downey Dial-A-Ride service. For information regarding this service, call Downey Dial-A-Ride at (562) GREEN LINE ACCESS The Southeast DowneyLINK Route embarks and disembarks passengers at a stop on Foster Rd. just east of Lakewood Blvd. just south of the Green Line Station. 4 HOW DO I CONNECT WITH THE MTA? COMO ME CONECTO CON EL MTA? 3RD MTA has numerous lines serving Downey. You can ride DowneyLINK to the MTA stop you need. DowneyLINK transfers are not valid on MTA buses and MTA passes are not valid on DowneyLINK. Monthly and weekly MTA passes may be purchased at Downey City Hall (11111 Brookshire Ave.) during regular business hours. DOWNEYLINK DOES NOT OPERATE ON SATURDAY OR SUNDAY OR THE FOLLOWING HOLIDA YS: New Year s Day (Jan 1) Labor Day MTA tiene varias lineas serviendo a la Ciudad de Downey. 5 HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO RIDE DOWNEYLINK? 25 cents a trip for all ages. Children 5 years and younger (when accompanied by an adult) will be permitted to ride free maximum of two children per adult ride free. DowneyLINK drivers cannot make change; therefore, have the correct fare ready before you board the bus. Transferring to another DowneyLINK route is easy because routes are scheduled to depart the Downey Depot Transportation Center (located at 8150 Nance Street) at the same time. So if you need to make a connection to another DowneyLINK bus to reach your destination, just ask the driver for a transfer ticket when you board. It is free! The transfer must be given to another DowneyLINK driver within the same day. COMO SE HACEN CAMBIOS DE AUTOBUS PARA DOWNEYLINK? Cambiarse de autobuses is muy facil porque las rutas estan programadas para salir de la terminal (localizada en 8150 Nance Street) a la misma hora. Rancho Los Amigos Courthouse ALAMEDA DowneyLINK operates Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 6:30pm. Saturday service is offered during the holidays beginning the first Saturday after Thanksgiving until the Saturday before Christmas. This special service operates from 8:30am to 6:30pm and runs the regular routes. Los autobuses corren de Lunes a Viernes de las 6:30am a las 6:30pm.
