2 1. Gramática: A. Subject pronouns In Spanish class, we will study grammar using caja de conjugación (conjugation box) It s important for you to know this verb grid. There are 5 main categories of pronouns we will study. Memorize the following caja de conjugación = I = we = you (with friends, family) = he = she Usted = you = they = they (feminine) Ustedes= you all B. Stem changing verbs Some spanish verbs are called stem-changing verbs because when they are conjugated (in the caja de conjugación), the word changes in a predictable way. There are four possible stem changes. Catagorize the verbs in the bank into their appropriate stem change. Querer Entender Almorzar Pensar Servir Jugar Volver Pedir Tener Venir Preferir Perder Repetir Dormir Contar Poder O UE E IE E I U UE 2
3 Create a caja de conjugación for each of the stem changing verbs. Querer quiero queremos *no stem change quieres quiere quieren 3
4 Study the placement and definition of each subject pronoun and memorize the stem changing verbs. u will have a QUIZ the first day of class on both topics. 4
5 2. Vocabulario: In Spanish class when we learn new vocabulary, we make flashcards. On the front of the card, you will write the word in Spanish, and on the back, the definition in English. Front querer Back to want Look up the definition for each verb in Spanish and create a flashcard. Study them and bring them on the first day. u will be quizzed on these words the first week of school.
