2 ABOUT English Irene Grau (Valencia, 1986). Lives and works in Valencia. She develops her work from relationships between color and space. Focusing on minimal elements of painting as the plane, the color and the support, looking for connections with the environment from twodimensional chromatic objects that finally are unfolded and projected beyond the surface. Her interest in the context in which the painting is experienced leads her to include architecture and landscape, not as background but as a field that activates the chromatic space. And painting is articulated from the void, from the vibrating space between the different surfaces of color. The permeability of large sheets of transparent color or monochrome stretcher is constituted as a characteristic element of some of her recent series. Spanish Irene Grau (Valencia, 1986). Vive y trabaja en Valencia. Desarrolla su trabajo a partir de relaciones que se establecen entre el color y el espacio. Centrándose en elementos mínimos de la pintura como el plano, el color y el soporte, busca conexiones con el entorno desde objetos cromáticos bidimensionales que finalmente se despliegan y proyectan más allá del plano. Su interés por el contexto en el que se experimenta la pintura le lleva a incluir la arquitectura y el paisaje, no como fondo, sino como campo que activa el juego cromático. Y la pintura se articula desde el vacío, desde el espacio que vibra entre las superficies de color. La permeabilidad de las grandes láminas de color transparente o de los bastidores monocromos se constituye como elemento característico de algunas de las series en las que está trabajando recientemente.
