Reduced Fare for Seniors, Disabled, and Medicare Cardholders Seniors 65 and older, disabled persons and Medicare cardholders pay a reduced fare with acceptable forms of ID which include MTA issued reduced fare card, any Disabled ID issued by governmental agency, Medicare Card, Able Ride ID, or Nassau County Disability Leisure Pass. Student and Child Fare Students with a reduced fare MetroCard pay a discounted fare and transfers are free. Transfers are valid 2 hours on connecting routes only: MetroCard transfers are automatically included. Cash fare must request a transfer upon boarding.
