Convocatorias 2014 Convocatorias en una fase. Presupuesto: 108 M EUR (37,4% de un presupuesto total de 289 M EUR para convocatorias 2014). Deadline: 8 de abril de 2014. Retorno total para España: 10,7% (UE-28); 11,7 M EUR (objetivo de retorno total 2014 9,2%). La evaluación se ha estructurado en 7 paneles; se han presentado 77 propuestas que representan 4,3% del presupuesto disponible; ha habido 74 evaluadores (43% de mujeres); 46 propuestas han quedado por encima de los umbrales de evaluación (61%); de 952 participantes, 286 han sido exitosos (61%); y se cuenta con 17 propuestas en la lista de financiación. Convocatorias 2014 Convocatorias en dos fases. Presupuesto: 181 M EUR (62,6% de un presupuesto total de 289 M EUR para convocatorias 2014). Como resultados agregados, destaca un 20,7% de los coordinadores que pasan a segunda fase son españoles (24 propuestas de un total de 116). Destaca el posicionamiento español en las convocatorias WATER y WASTE, donde ocupamos las primeras posiciones en Europa. El 75% de las propuestas españolas que pasan a segunda fase se encuadran en una sólo convocatoria focalizada en agua (WATER-2014 (2-stage topics)). 9 02/07/2014

EXCELENCIA.- Ejemplos de comentarios Clarity and pertinence of the objectives The state of the art is particularly well described and expected advancements beyond are well justified (5) therefore while in scope the proposal does not address all of Call requirements (3,5) The concept does not address adequately all the life cycle aspects (2,5) A unifying objective and concept is not identified and the approach is not sufficiently coherent (2,5) Extent that proposed work is ambitious, has innovation potential, and is beyond the state of the art (e.g. ground-breaking objectives, novel concepts and approaches) Proposed solutions are trans-disciplinary (5) The slight shortcoming of this proposal is that it is quite focused in this scope in that it addresses a very specific waste stream (4,5) The state of the art and the progress beyond it are not sufficiently described. IMPACTO.- Ejemplos de comentarios The expected impacts listed in the work programme under the relevant topic Consistent efforts have been taken to quantify the impact (5) The impacts were, however, described at a relatively high level and more details would have been needed (3,5) Enhancing innovation capacity and integration of new knowledge Diverse cultures across EU are considered, this facilitates spreading of successful practises (5) However, limited attention has been paid to assessing the marked demand for the proposed products (4) Potential economic impacts are expected, but not well quantified and justified in the proposal (4,0) Effectiveness of the proposed measures to exploit and disseminate the project results (including management of IPR), to communicate the project, and to manage research data where relevant Partners involved in commercial exploitment are identified and the market potential is assessed (5) It was highlighted that the industrial partners were mainly large companies ant that this could limit the impact in SMEs (4,5) Exploitation plans are not clearly identified and it is not demonstrated how and when the proposed innovations can be delivered in the market (2,5) 15 02/07/2014

IMPLEMENTACIÓN.- Ejemplos de comentarios Coherence and effectiveness of the work plan, including appropriateness of the allocation of tasks and resources The list of deliverables is comprehensive, but the minor shortcoming is the limited information on tangible public deliverables (4,5) Though the content of deliverables and the links between the various WPs are not well described (4,0) However, many of the milestones are generic, and in some cases the workplan does not support all objectives (4,0) Complementarity of the participants within the consortium (when relevant) Proposed partnership combines in a good balance way scientific, technical, technological and manufacturing skills with a relevant share of industrial partners (4,5) The inclusion of end users is beneficial and would increase the chance of success (4,0) Appropriateness of the management structures and procedures, including risk and innovation management Provided risk assessment and mitigation measures are highly relevant (4.5) The resource allocation is unbalanced, p.e., the outcome of some WPs are strongly dependent on one project partner (3,5) 16 02/07/2014

H2020 Mainstreaming of climate and sustainable development objectives Acción por el clima, medio ambiente, eficiencia de recursos y desarrollo sostenible es uno de los temas transversales para todo el programa Horizonte 2020. Al menos el 60% del presupuesto de Horizonte 2020 deberá estar relacionado con el desarrollo sostenible. 20 Materias Primas Críticas Abril de 2014: The European Commission presented today a revised list of Critical Raw Materials. The 2014 list includes 13 of the 14 materials identified in the previous list of 2011, with only tantalum moving out of the list (due to a lower supply risk). Six new materials appear on the list: borates, chromium, coking coal, magnesite, phosphate rock and silicon metal bringing the number up to 20 raw materials which are now considered critical by the European Commission. The other 14 raw materials are: antimony, beryllium, cobalt, fluorspar, gallium, germanium, indium, magnesium, natural graphite, niobium, platinum group metals, heavy rare earths, light rare earths and tungsten (MEMO/ 14/ 377) 37 02/07/2014

Participación española en commitments Resultado de la 1ª Call for Commitments. Los resultados son extraordinarios por parte española tanto en participación como en aprobación de commitments. España ocupa la primera posición de Europa en participantes (139 de 881) y la segunda en coordinación a nivel de país (10 de 90, Francia coordina 17 y otras entidades europeas 14). Se han presentado 90 commitments; de los cuáles SE APRUEBAN 80. El presupuesto total contabilizado en las propuestas de commitments asciende a 1.897 M EUR. 49 02/07/2014
