Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehice and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment hoes with a torch. 2 Instaation Instructions Mercury Sabe Part Numbers: Disconnect hose by Pinching reease button On coar Cips Bots 1. Remove the tie downs and return to vehice owner. 2. Detach rubber isoator from exhaust hanger bracket. 3. Remove the carbon canister: Figure 2. A. Disconnect the eectrica connectors from the canister (pinching the top and puing to separate the connectors). B. Disconnect the hose by pinching the reease button on the coar and puing the hose off. C. Remove the (4) fasteners that hod the canister in pace. Two bots ocated on the spare tire we and two nuts ocated coser to the center of the canister (cips hod the canister in pace and require puing or gente prying). D. Lower the canister aowing it to hang out of the way. Canister can not be competey removed. 4. Remove two (2) inboard E.A. bots, one (1) per side from E.A. unit (See Figure 1). 5. Position hitch on vehice and attach with two (2) M10 bots provided with hitch, on the inboard side of E.A., one per side, as shown in Figure Insert bock and hande nut through access sot. Insta hex bot and conica toothed washer through side arm, frame and bock into hande nut as shown. Ensure that hande nut can be easiy threaded onto bot before instaation. 7. Tighten bots to specified torque: Tighten a M10 CL9.8 fasteners with torque wrench to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N*M) Tighten a ½-13 GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M) 8. Reattach rubber isoator to exhaust hanger bracket. 9. Reinstaing the carbon canister: Figure 2. A. Pace the hose through the 1-1/2 diameter access hoe in the hitch bracket. Reconnect the hose to the canister. B. Side the canister back into pace under spare tire we whie aigning with the two (2) bots on the rai. C. Push the canister onto the bots and secure with hex nuts. D. Tighten the bots on the bottom of the spare tire we. E. Reconnect the eectrica connectors to the canister. Figure 2 Carbon Canister Tighten a M10 x 1.50 CL9.8fasteners with torque wrench to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N*M) Tighten a ½-13 GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M) Note: check hitch frequenty, making sure a fasteners and ba are propery tightened. Enever es attaches et es remettre au propriétaire du véhicue. 2. Détacher 'isoateur en caoutchouc de a ferrure du support d'échappement. 3. Enever 'absorbeur de vapeurs d'essence : Figure 2. A. Débrancher es connecteurs éectriques de 'absorbeur (en pinçant e haut puis tirant pour séparer es connecteurs). B. Débrancher e tuyau en pinçant e bouton de dégagement du coet puis tirant sur e tuyau. C. Retirer es quatre (4) attaches qui fixent 'absorbeur en pace. Deux bouons situés dans e ogement du pneu de secours et deux écrous situés pus près du centre de 'absorbeur (es agrafes maintiennent 'absorbeur en pace et i faut es tirer ou es dégager déicatement avec un écarteur). D. Abaisser 'absorbeur et e aisser pendre à 'écart pour dégager a voie. L'absorbeur ne pas être enevé compètement. 4. Enever deux (2) bouons E.A. intérieurs, un (1) de chaque côté de 'unité E.A. (voir a Figure 1). 5. Positionner 'atteage sur e véhicue et e fixer à 'aide de deux (2) bouons M10 (un par côté) fournis avec 'atteage, sur e côté intérieur de 'E.A. comme iustré à a Figure Insérer e boc et 'écrou à evier à travers a fente d'accès. Poser e bouon hexagona et a rondee conique dentée à travers e bras atéra, e cadre et e boc puis dans 'écrou à evier, comme iustré. S'assurer que 'écrou à evier peut être aisément vissé sur e bouon avant 'instaation. 7. Serrer es bouons aux coupes spécifiés : Serrer toute a visserie M10 CL9.8 au coupe de 42 b-pi (57 N*M). Serrer toute a visserie 1/2-13 GR5 au coupe de 75 b-pi (102 N*M). 8. Détacher 'isoateur en caoutchouc de a ferrure du support d'échappement. 9. Réinstaer 'absorbeur de vapeurs d'essence : Figure 2. A. Pacer e tuyau dans e trou d'accès 1-1/2 du support d'atteage. Raccorder e tuyau à 'absorbeur. B. Faire gisser 'absorbeur pour e remettre en pace sous e ogement du pneu de secours tout en 'aignant sur es deux (2) bouons du ongeron. C. Pousser 'absorbeur sur es bouons et e fixer à 'aide des écrous hexagonaux. D. Serrer es bouons dans e bas du ogement du pneu de secours. E. Rebrancher es connecteurs éectriques sur 'absorbeur. Serrer toute a visserie M10 x 1.50 CL9.8 au coupe de 42 b-pi (57 N*M). Serrer toute a visserie 1/2-13 GR5 au coupe de 75 b-pi (102 N*M). Remarque : Vérifier atteage fréquemment, en s assurant que toute a visserie et a boue sont serrées adéquatement. Si atteage est enevé, boucher tous es trous percés dans e coffre ou a carrosserie afin de prévenir infitration d eau ou de gaz d échappement. Si se quita e enganche tape todos os orificios en e coector de baú u otros panees de a carrocería para evitar a entrada de agua y os gases de escape. Se debe retirar y reempazar un enganche o boa que se haya dañado. Observe as precauciones de seguridad a trabajar por debajo de vehícuo y use protección visua. No corte os orificios de acceso o accesorios con sopete. Este producto cumpe con as especificaciones y requisitos de seguridad para conectar dispositivos y sistemas de remoque de estado de Nueva York, V.E.S.C. 6 Instrucciones de instaación Mercury Sabe Números de partes: Desconecte a manguera a peizcar e botón de iberación en e coar Ganchos Pernos 1. Retire os amarres y devueva a propietario de vehícuo. 2. Despegue e aisante de goma de soporte de gancho de escape. 3. Retire e recipiente de carbono: Figura 2. A. Desconecte os conectores eéctricos de recipiente (peizcando a parte superior y haando para separar os conectores). B. Desconecte a manguera peizcando e botón de iberación en e coar y haando a manguera hasta quitara. C. Retire os cuatro (4) tornios que sostienen e recipiente en su ugar. Dos pernos ocaizados en e receptácuo de a anta de repuesto y dos tuercas ocaizadas más cerca a centro de recipiente (os ganchos sostienen e recipiente en su ugar y requieren que se hae o se apaanque suavemente). D. Baje e recipiente permitiendo que cuegue fuera de camino. No es posibe retirar competamente e recipiente. 4. Retire dos (2) pernos E.A. interiores, uno (1) por ado de a unidad E.A. (Ver Figura 1). 5. Cooque e enganche en e vehícuo e instae con dos (2) pernos M10 provistos con e enganche, en e ado E.A. interior, uno por ado, como se muestra en a Figura Inserte e boque y tuerca de manija a través de a ranura de acceso. Instae e perno hexagona y a arandea cónica dentada a través de brazo atera, bastidor y boque dentro de a tuerca de manija como se muestra. Verifique que a tuerca de manija pueda enroscarse fácimente en e perno antes de a instaación. 7. Apriete os pernos a a torsión específica: Apriete todos os tornios M10 CL9.8 con una ave de torsión a 42 Lb.-pies (57 N*M) Apriete todos os tornios ½-13 GR5 con una ave de torsión a 75 Lb.-pies (102 N*M) 8. Vueva a instaar e aisante de goma a soporte de gancho de escape. 9. Vueva a instaar e recipiente de carbono: Figura 2. Figura 2 Recipiente de carbono A. Cooque a manguera a través de orificio de acceso de 1-1/2 de diámetro en e soportes de enganche. Reconecte a manguera a recipiente. B. Desice e recipiente de nuevo a su ugar debajo de receptácuo de a anta de repuesto mientras ainea con os dos (2) pernos en e arguero. C. Empuje e recipiente hacia os pernos y asegure con as tuercas hexagonaes. D. Apriete os pernos en a base de receptácuo de a anta de repuesto. E. Vueva a conectar os conectores eéctricos a recipiente. Apriete todos os tornios M10 x 1.50 CL9. con una ave de torsión a 42 Lb.-pies (57 N*M) Apriete todos os tornios ½-13 GR5 con una ave de torsión a 5 Lb.-pies. (102 N*M) Nota: Revise e enganche con frecuencia, verificando que todos os tornios y a boa estén correctamente apretados. Si se quita e enganche tape todos os orificios en e coector de baú u otros panees de a carrocería para evitar a entrada de agua y os gases de escape. Se debe retirar y reempazar un enganche o boa que se haya dañado. Observe as precauciones de seguridad a trabajar por debajo de vehícuo y use protección visua.
