SACRAMENTAL CELEBRATIONS AND OTHER INFORMATION DEVOTIONS, PRAYER GROUPS & MEETINGS Confessions: Every weekday morning after Mass in the Basilica. Saturdays from 4-4:45 p.m. in the Basilica. Marriage: Couples must arrange their wedding ceremony at least 6 months beforehand. Every couple must attend a Pre-Cana meeting. Log on to: for dates and registration. Sacrament of the Sick: If you know you are going to be hospitalized, consider receiving the Sacrament of Anointing beforehand at any weekday Mass. Ask the priest before Mass in the sacristy. Communion to the Homebound: Our Eucharistic Ministers are happy to bring Holy Communion to the homebound. To arrange this, please call the Rectory. Baptism: Parents wishing to celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism with their children must attend a "Registration and Instruction Session" on the First Saturday of any month at 11 am in the Basilica Conference Center. At these sessions it will be necessary for both parents to attend, and to bring a copy of the baby's birth certificate. Necessary registration forms will be completed, the required instruction will take place, and the Baptism will be scheduled. Remember, both Godparents must be Catholic, 16 years old, and must have received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Godparents may attend these sessions but are not required to do so. Baptisms are celebrated in English on the third Saturday of each month at noon in the Basilica. Once this session is completed, you may schedule the ceremony for any month. Those who speak Spanish and wish to have a Spanish language ceremony, will have their registration and instruction session on the First Saturday of each month after the 7:30 pm Mass in the Basilica. Spanish Baptisms are celebrated at the Spanish Mass on Saturdays at 7:30 pm in the Basilica. It is no longer necessary to come to the Rectory Office to set up a Baptism celebration. You may call the rectory for Chinese or Italian Baptisms. Novena in honor of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal: Mondays after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. Novena in honor of St. Anthony: Tuesdays after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. In Jesus Name Prayer Group: Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. in the Basilica of Regina Pacis. Corpus Christi Procession and Novena The Corpus Christi Novena started on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 7:30 pm. in the Basilica of Regina Pacis. Every evening after the Novena the Holy Mass will be celebrated. The Corpus Christi Procession will be on Saturday, May 28 at 6:30 pm. The Procession will leave the Church of St. Rosalia at 6:30 pm, and will go along 14th Ave. up to Ovington Ave., then will turn right and reach 13th Ave. After turning right on 13 th Ave. will continue up to 65 th St., and after turning left will reach the Basilica of Regina Pacis. La gloria de la Trinidad se hace presente en el tiempo y en el espacio, y encuentra su manifestación más elevada en Jesús, en su encarnación y en su historia. En el centro de nuestra fe está la Encarnación, en la que se revela la gloria de la Trinidad y su amor por nosotros: "Y el Verbo se hizo carne, y habitó entre nosotros, y hemos contemplado su gloria". "Porque tanto amó Dios al mundo que dio a su Hijo único". "En esto se manifestó el amor que Dios nos tiene; en que Dios envió al mundo a su Hijo único para que vivamos por medio de él". Estas palabras de los escritos de san Juan nos ayudan a comprender que la revelación de la gloria trinitaria en la Encarnación no es una simple iluminación que disipa las tinieblas por un instante, sino una semilla de vida divina depositada para siempre en el mundo y en el corazón de los hombres. Conocer a Dios y a su Hijo es acoger el misterio de la comunión de amor del Padre, del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo en la propia vida, que ya desde ahora se abre a la vida eterna por la participación en la vida divina. Por tanto, la vida eterna es la vida misma de Dios y a la vez la vida de los hijos de Dios. Un nuevo estupor y una gratitud sin límites se apoderan necesariamente del creyente ante esta inesperada e inefable verdad que nos viene de Dios en Cristo". El misterio de la santísima Trinidad, que "es el misterio central de la fe y de la vida cristiana. Es el misterio de Dios en sí mismo. Es, pues, la fuente de todos los otros misterios de la fe; es la luz que los ilumina". En la Encarnación contemplamos el amor trinitario que se manifiesta en Jesús; un amor que no queda encerrado en un círculo perfecto de luz y de gloria, sino que se irradia en la carne de los hombres, en su historia; penetra al hombre, regenerándolo y haciéndolo hijo en el Hijo.
