2 Saint Charles Parish San Diego / Imperial Beach Page Two From the Pastor Jesus said to his disciples: Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him. John 14:23 The quote above is the first verse of today s gospel reading and it gives us the opportunity to reflect on the presence of God both around us as well as inside us. Now, we all know that God sees everything. There is no place in the universe we can go to escape his loving gaze. Rather than disturb us, this pious thought and theological fact should bring us great comfort. He s always watching over me with his precious eyes set upon me. This also serves as a great reminder to conduct ourselves accordingly throughout the day. To those of us living in a state of grace, that is without any mortal sin, God dwells not only around us, but within us as well. As we read above if we love God then he, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, will make their home in our souls, indeed, in our very flesh. While it is a great thing to make a visit to the church or spend time praying in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, it is also very important to know that all we have to do is close our eyes, clear our minds, and remember that he is within us. That said, please let me encourage you to practice daily remembering the presence of God. Throughout the day it s a good thing to remind ourselves that God is indeed watching over us and living within us. These pious thoughts can do wonders for our attitudes, peace of mind, and our dealings with others. Set your alarm, watch, or phone to chime on the hour. When it does remember who sees you, who lives in you.

Bond with fellow parishioners over a cup of coffee, delicious bake goods and other delicious foods. The Knights of Columbus will host the Bake sale, Sunday, May 8, Today s UT Sales: The Knights of Columbus Come, join, be one of us in celebration of May Crowning and flower offering of the Blessed Virgin Mary, on Saturday, May 7, 10:00 a.m. We will have recitation of the Teresa, Rosary, Crowning and flower offering of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Please bring flowers to offer. The Nine days Novena will start on Friday, April 28 thru May 6:00 p.m. on weekdays at the church and 1:00 p.m. on weekends at room 13." BAZAAR GRAND PRIZE RAFFLE TICKETS have been mailed out. Ticket stubs can be turned-in in the collection basket or at the parish office during office hours. COINS AND CAN WEEKEND is this weekend. All coins received in the offering will be given to St. Charles School s 6 th Grade Camp Fund in Honor of Sister Elizabeth, a long time teacher and friend of St. Charles School and Church. Please be generous next weekend with all your coins. Food and baby items brought to the church will be distributed to the people of our own parish or given to BIRTHLINE to help young mothers in need. MOTHER S DAY NOVENA: We will have a novena of masses for our mothers beginning May 8th. If you wish to enroll your living or deceased mother, please use the envelopes available at the parish office. St. Charles Prayer & Squares (prayer quilt ministry) hold monthly meetings every first Saturday of the month in the Nutrition Center, 8:30-10:30am. Our next meeting is scheduled for May 7. Please note for June, our meeting will be moved to Saturday, June 11 because of Bazaar weekend. All are invited to attend. LUMPIA WRAPPING FIL-AM is hosting a Lumpia Wrapping Session on Saturday, May 21, It will be held in the Nutrition Center starting at 8:00 AM. 5 Page Five Sexto Domingo de Pascua 1 de Mayo de 2016 Del Pastor Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Si alguien me ama, guardará mis palabras, y mi Padre lo amará, y vendremos a él, y haremos en el nuestra morada. - Juan 14:23 La cita de arriba es el primer versículo de la lectura y el evangelio de hoy nos da la oportunidad de reflexionar sobre la presencia de Dios que nos rodea, así como dentro de nosotros. Ahora, todos sabemos que Dios lo ve todo. No hay lugar en el universo al que podemos ir para escapar de su mirada amorosa. En ves de que nos disturbe este piadoso pensamiento y hecho teológico, nos deberían de traer gran confort. "Él siempre está viendo sobre mí con sus preciosos ojos fijos en mí." Esto también sirve como un gran recordatorio para comportarnos en consecuencia a lo largo del día. Para aquellos de nosotros que vivimos en un estado de gracia, es decir, sin pecado mortal, Dios habita no sólo alrededor de nosotros, sino dentro de nosotros. Como hemos leído anteriormente si amamos a Dios, entonces él, Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo, hará su casa en nuestras almas, de hecho, en nuestra propia carne. Aunque es una gran cosa hacer una visita a la iglesia o pasar tiempo orando en la presencia del Santísimo Sacramento, también es muy importante saber que todo lo que tenemos que hacer es cerrar los ojos, aclarar la mente, y recordar que Dios está dentro de nosotros. Dicho esto, me permito invitarlos a practicar diariamente a recordar la presencia de Dios. A lo largo de todo el día es una buena cosa recordarnos que Dios es ciertamente esta velando por nosotros y que vive dentro de nosotros. Estos pensamientos piadosos pueden hacer maravillas para nuestra actitud, tranquilidad, y nuestras relaciones con los demás. Ponga su alarma, reloj o teléfono para que suene en la hora. Cuando recuerdes quien te ve, quien vive en ti.
