3 INTRODUCCIÓN Los amplificadores VIETA le proporcionan un refuerzo de sonido de alto rendimiento para su equipo de audio móvil. Su versatilidad habilita la compatibilidad con ecualizadores o redes de separación de frecuencias opcionales y otros procesadores de audio en un sistema personalizado. Sus capacidades de puenteo multimodo permiten una gran flexibilidad para albergar varias configuraciones diferentes de altavoces. Para conseguir un rendimiento óptimo, se recomienda encarecidamente que lea este manual de instrucciones antes de comenzar la instalación. ADVERTENCIA Los sistemas de audio de alta potencia dentro de un vehículo son capaces de generar altos niveles de presión sonora similares a los de un concierto en vivo. La exposición continua a niveles de sonido con un volumen excesivamente elevado puede producir la pérdida de la capacidad auditiva o que ésta resulte dañada. Del mismo modo, la conducción de un vehículo a motor mientras se escucha un equipo de sonido con unos niveles de volumen elevados puede reducir su capacidad para oír sonidos externos, tales como los claxon, las señales de aviso o los vehículos de emergencia, lo que puede constituir un riesgo potencial para el tráfico. Por su propia seguridad, VIETA le recomienda escuchar su equipo con un nivel de volumen reducido mientras conduce

4 PLANIFICANDO SU SISTEMA Antes de comenzar la instalación, tenga en cuenta lo siguiente: 1. Tiene intención de añadir equipos electrónicos móviles adicionales en el futuro? Si tiene previsto ampliar su sistema añadiéndole otros componentes en el futuro, cerciórese de que deja suficiente espacio y de que se cumplen los requerimientos de refrigeración. 2. Va a utilizar entradas de alto o de bajo nivel? Su amplificador ha sido diseñado para aceptar una fuente de bajo nivel (salidas preamplificadas de su radio). Si su radio / fuente de sonido está equipada con salidas preamplificadas, es posible utilizarlas para comandar el amplificador y los 2 altavoces delanteros. A continuación, use la potencia nativa de su radio para comandar los 2 altavoces traseros. 3. Están adaptados sus componentes entre sí? La potencia nominal RMS de su(s) altovoz(ces) debe ser igual o mayor que la potencia nominal RMS de su amplificador. Su(s) altavoz(ces) también tienen que tener una impedancia de 2-8 ohmios para permitir un funcionamiento estable del amplificador. La información de impedancia está impresa normalmente en la caja o el imán del altavoz. 4. Dónde se va a instalar el amplificador? Tenga en cuenta tanto la longitud de sus conductores como su tendido a la hora de determinar el lugar de montaje. Lo mejor es instalar los cables de alimentación y los cables RCA en lados opuestos del vehículo para evitar el ruido inducido. Las clavijas jack de entrada preamplificada requieren cierta longitud de cable apantallado RCA macho a macho de alta calidad

5 CONEXIÓN DE LA ALIMENTACIÓN ELÉCTRICA (fig.1) PRECAUCIÓN: COMO PRECAUCIÓN, DESCONECTE EL CABLE DE ALIMENTACIÓN DE LA BATERÍA MIENTRAS REALIZA LAS CONEXIONES DE ALIMENTACIÓN Y DE TOMA DE TIERRA PARA EL AMPLIFICADOR. CALIBRE 4/8 (más grueso si tiene previstos amplificadores adicionales). Se recomienda este tamaño de cable tanto para el cable de alimentación como para el de toma de tierra. Calibre 12 para el cable de activación remota. Ambos tipos están disponibles en la mayoría de distribuidores de audio móvil o tiendas de instalación. (1) Toma de tierra: Al chasis del vehículo Para evitar ruido de encendido no deseado causado por el bucle de puesta a tierra, es esencial que el amplificador sea conectado a tierra a través de una superficie metálica limpia y libre del chasis del vehículo. NOTA: EL CABLE DE TIERRA NO DEBE EXTENDERSE MÁS DE 1 METRO. (2) Alimentación eléctrica constante +12 voltios (con fusible): A la batería (+) Debido a las necesidades de energía del amplificador, esta conexión debe hacerse directamente al polo positivo (+) de la batería. Por razones de seguridad, instale un soporte para fusible en línea (no incluido) tan cerca del polo positivo (+) de la batería como sea posible con un amperaje que no supere el valor total de los fusibles en amperios. (3) Entrada de encendido remoto: A la salida de encendido remoto del equipo estéreo del coche. Este amplificador se enciende remotamente cuando se enciende el equipo estéreo del vehículo. NOTA: SI SU RADIO NO TIENE UN CONDUCTOR DE SALIDA DE +12 VOLTIOS CUANDO SE ENCIENDE LA RADIO, EL TERMINAL "REMOTO" DEL AMPLIFICADOR PUEDE CONECTARSE AL CIRCUITO AUXILIAR DEL VEHÍCULO QUE ESTÁ ACTIVO CUANDO LA LLAVE ESTÁ EN "ON". 8 FUNCIONES DE CONTROL 8. Conexión remota Este terminal enciende el amplificador cuando se le aplica una corriente de (+)12 voltios. Conéctelo al cable de conexión remota de la unidad principal o a la fuente de señal. 9. Alimentación de (+)12 voltios Conecte este terminal mediante un FUSIBLE o CORTACIRCUITOS al terminal positivo de la batería del vehículo o al terminal positivo de una batería aislada para sistemas de audio. Advertencia: Proteja siempre este cable de alimentación instalando un fusible o un cortacircuitos de tamaño apropiado a una distancia menor de 12 pulgadas del terminal de la batería. 10. ALTAVOCES Los altavoces se conectan aquí. 11. LED Se iluminará en AZUL para indicar que el amplificador está encendido y funcionando normalmente y se iluminará en ROJO si el amplificador se apaga debido a un cortocircuito, fallo CC o sobrecalentamiento detectado por los circuitos de protección integrados

Asegúrese de que el cable de encen dido está conectado Repare el cable de alimentación o las conexiones Compruebe las conexiones a la radio Compruebe el fusible NO HAY SONIDO EN UN CANAL Compruebe los hilos de los altavoces Compruebe los hilos de entrada de audio Busque si existe un cortocircuito o una conexión abierta. Intercambie las entradas RCA del lado derecho y el izquierdo para determinar si está ocurriendo antes del amplificador. Compruebe el nivel de volumen del sintonizador / platina. Limpie los contactos de los soportes del fusible. AMP SE DESCONECTA CON VOLUMEN MEDIO/ ALTO Compruebe la impedancia de carga del altavoz Cerciórese de utilizar los altavoces adecuados para asegurar que se cumplan las recomendaciones sobre impedancia. (Si utiliza un ohmímetro para comprobar la resistencia del altavoz, recuerde que la resistencia CC y la impedancia CA pueden no ser la misma)

13 AVISOS Investigue en profundidad la distribución de su automóvil antes de taladrar o cortar cualquier agujero. Tenga cuidado cuando trabaje cerca del depósito de gasolina o de los conductos de combustible e hidráulicos así como de los cables eléctricos. No utilice amplificadores de potencia desmontados. Fije este sistema de modo seguro al automóvil para evitar desperfectos, en particular en caso de accidente. No monte este sistema de modo que las conexiones eléctricas estén desprotegidas o sometidas a pinzamientos o daños procedentes de los objetos adyacentes. El cable de alimentación de +12V CC debe poseer un fusible en la conexión del polo positivo de la batería. Antes de realizar o desmontar conexiones de alimentación en los terminales de este sistema, desconecte el cable de +12V en el extremo de la batería. Cerciórese de que su reproductor de radio/ cassette o los otros equipos estén desconectados cuando vaya a conectar los jacks de entrada y los terminales de los altavoces. Si necesita sustituir el fusible de alimentación, sustitúyalo únicamente por otro fusible idéntico al que se suministra con el sistema. Usar un fusible de un tipo o capacidad diferente puede producir daños en este sistema que no estén cubiertos por la garantía

Its versatility enables compatibility with optional Equalizers, Frequency Dividing Crossover Networks, and other audio processors in a customized system. The Multi-Mode bridging capabilities allow flexibility in hosting several different speaker configurations. To achieve optimum performance, it is highly recommended that you read this Owners Manual before beginning installation. WARNING High powered audio systems in a vehicle are capable of generating "Live Concert" high levels of sound pressure. Continued exposure to excessively high volume sound levels may cause hearing loss or damage. Also, operation of a motor vehicle while listening to audio equipment at high volume levels may impair your ability to hear external sounds such as; horns, warning signals, or emergency vehicles, thus contributing to a potential traffic hazard. In the interest of safety, VIETA recommends listening at lower volume levels while driving

18 PLANNING YOUR SYSTEM Before beginning the installation, consider the following: 1. Do you plan to add additional mobile electronics equipment in the future? If you plan to expand your system by adding other components sometime in the future, ensure adequate space is left and cooling requirements are met. 2. Should you use high or low level inputs? Your Amplifier has been designed to accept Low-Level(Pre-Amp outputs from your radio) source signal. If your radio/source is equipped with Pre-Amp outputs, it is possible to utilize them to drive the Amplifier and the 2 front speakers. Then, use the built-in power of your radio to drive the 2 rear speakers. 3. Are your components matched? The RMS power rating of your speaker(s) must be equal or greater than the RMS power rating of your amplifier. Your speaker(s) also must be 2-8 Ohms impedance for stable amplifier operation. Impedance information is normally printed on the speaker basket or magnet. 4. Where will the amplifier be installed? Consider both the length of your leads, and routing when determining the mounting location. It is best to run power and RCA wiring on opposite sides of the vehicle to prevent induced noise. Pre-amp input jacks require a length of high quality shielded male to male RCA patch cord

19 CONNECTING THE POWER (Fig.1) CAUTION: AS A PRECAUTION, DISCONNECT THE POWER WIRE FROM THE BATTERY WHILE MAKING THE POWER AND GROUND CONNECTIONS TO THE AMPLIFIER. 4/8 GAUGE(Thicker if planning for additional Amplifiers) wire is recommended for both the power and ground wires. 12 Gauge, for the remote turn-on wire. Both types are available at most Mobile Audio Dealers or Installation Shop. (1) Ground : To Vehicle Chassis To avoid unwanted ignition noise caused by ground loop, it is essential that the Amplifier be grounded to a clean, bare, metal surface of the vehicle's Chassis NOTE : GROUND WIRE SHOULD NOT BE EXTENDED MORE THAN 3 FT. (1 METER). (2) +12 Volt(Fused) Constant Power: To Battery (+) Due to the power requirements of the Amplifier, this connection should be made directly to the positive (+) terminal of battery. For safety measures, install an in-line Fuse Holder (not included) as close to the battery positive (+) terminal as possible with an ampere rating; not to exceed total value of fuses in Amp. (3) Remote Turn-On Input: To remote turn-on output of Car Stereo This Amplifier is turned "ON" remotely when the vehicle's stereo is turned "ON". NOTE : IF YOUR RADIO DOES NOT HAVE A +12 VOLT OUTPUT LEAD WHEN THE RADIO IS TURNED ON, THE "REMOTE" TERMINAL ON THE AMPLIFIER CAN BE CONNECTED TO VEHICLE'S ACCESSORY CIRCUIT THAT IS LIVE WHEN THE KEY IS "ON". 22 CONTROL FUNCTIONS 8. Remote Turn On This terminal turns on the amplifier when (+)12 volt is applied to it. Connect it to the remote turn on lead of the head unit or signal source. 9. (+)12 Volt Power Connect this terminal through a FUSE or CIRCUIT BREAKER to the positive terminal of the vehicle battery or the positive terminal of an isolated audio system battery. Warning: Always protect this power wire by installing a fuse or circuit breaker of the appropriate size within 12 inches of the battery terminal connection. 10. SPEAKERS The speaker connector in here. 11. LED Will illuminate BLUE to indicate the amplifier is on and operating normally, and will be illuminated RED if the amplifier shuts down due to short circuit, DC offset, or overheating detected by on board protection circuitry - 7 -

25 TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE SYMPTOMS CHECK POINTS CURE NO SOUND AMP NOT SWITCHING ON NO SOUND IN ONE CHANNEL AMP TURNING OFF MEDIUM/ HIGH VOLUME Is the power LED illuminated? Be sure proper speakers are used to ensure impedance recommendations are observed. (If you use an Ohmmeter to check speaker resistance, please remember that DC resistance and AC impedance may not be the same.)

27 WARNINGS Investigate the layout of your automobile throughly before drilling or cutting any holes. Take care when to work near the gas tanks, lines, or hydraulic lines, and electrical wiring. Don't use power amplifier unmounted. Attach this system securely to the automobile to prevent damage, particularly in the event of an accident. Don't mount this system so that the wire connections are unprotected or are subject to pinching or damage from nearby objects. The +12V DC power wire must be fused at the battery positive terminal connection. Before making or breaking power connections at this system power terminals, disconnect the +12V wire at the battery end. Confirm your radio/cassette player and/or other equip is turned off while connecting the input jacks and speaker terminals. If you need to replace the power fuse, replace it only with a fuse identical to that supplied with the system. Using a fuse of different type or rating may result in damage to this system which isn't covered by the warranty
