Job Title: Demand Planner Department: Operations Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt Origination Date: 4.13.2015 Job Description Location: New York Reports To: Director of Procurement Supervises: N/A Revision Date: Position Overview: As a member of the Procurement team the Demand Planner is responsible for maintaining the demand plan including the statistical forecasts, safety stocks, and reorder points for each of Topaz s divisions. Major responsibilities include quantitative modeling and forecasting, technical tool development, and master data management. The Demand Planner position requires a proactive attitude and highly effective analytical and communication skills to propose solutions and achieve results. Essential Job Functions: Develop and maintain a 12-month rolling forecast by SKU and distribution center. Calculate and propose safety stock levels in consideration of expected service levels, demand patterns, and supply considerations. Determine stock levels for stocking reps and third party warehouses. Ensure timely and accurate monthly forecast loads into ERP system. Rigorously analyze demand by location and product to identify demand trends to improve the forecast and share information with SIOP team. Manage the forecast profile of SKUs in consideration of PLM (Product Life-cycle management) and in conjunction with Product Management and Procurement. Track forecast vs. actual order volume to determine and minimize root causes of forecast error. Report monthly forecast error with causal analysis and action plans to improve. Measure and work to improve a broad set of metrics: forecast error, forecast bias, inventory levels, customer service levels, E&O Inventory, etc. Maintain master data accuracy and integrity with respect to demand and supply. Work collaboratively with internal customers to continually improve upon demand plan. Provide regular reports to management on current and projected inventory levels. Propose methods and ideas to improve the forecasting and planning systems. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/ Qualifications: The successful candidate for this position must have highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills in order to evaluate and assess complex issues and problems. This position requires a high level of competency in statistical analysis.

Knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools Good communication and team building skills. Education/ Experience Requirements: This position requires a bachelor s level degree in Supply Chain, or other related discipline. Minimum of 3-5 years progressive experience in advanced demand planning and/or inventory management within a distribution or manufacturing environment. Extensive experience working with statistical forecast models in an environment with at least 10,000 SKUs. APICS certification in CPIM, Institute of Business Forecasting (IBF) Certification or equivalent is desired. Experience in total quality, six sigma, or other similar is desired. Extensive knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in demand planning and capacity planning in a Distribution environment. Prior experience acting as a demand analyst during an ERP implementation is desirable. Specific experience with Navision a plus.
