To win the Bible just use your contribution envelopes! The Liturgical Year has passed and now Advent is upon us already. As we look to prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ into our lives, certain things rise to the top of the spiritual to do list, three in particular. To be ready for his coming we must 1. Pray yes even more than before, we must communicate with God alive and dwelling within us. We must give that thing which we seem to hold most precious in our own lives to God we must give God time. Not just any sort of time, not just the time that exists when we have nothing better to do we need to give God prime time. How else will we ever find the kingdom of God within except by taking the time to be with God? The Adoration chapel before the Blessed Sacrament is a great place for this during Advent. 2. Share we approach the season of Advent. There is something about the season of the birth of Our Lord that reaches hearts and souls and causes them to remember those in need. Our God calls us to see that the needs of the poor are not seasonal. Our relationship with God cannot be seasonal. God s call is to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless and visit the sick is 24 and 7 ; that is, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. 3. Love and Forgiveness the Kingdom of God is based on love and forgiveness. For us to find it within ourselves, we must first love and forgive ourselves. Usually it is easier to forgive others than it is to forgive our selves. If we forgive someone else, there is a certain amount of credit we claim from that person. For us to agree to be loved and forgiven in our culture of personal independence is very, very hard. This Tuesday evening, December 4, is a good time to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation at our Penance service at 7:00 PM. I hope to see you there. May God bless you. Fr. Dan P.S. It has been four weeks since my knee replacement surgery, and it has felt very unusual not to have a normal schedule to adhere to for several weeks in a row. Now is it is the exercise and therapy, following-up bi-weekly stretching the knee muscles to move like they did before is difficult and painful but very essential as everyone reminds me. You prayers, visits and meal-train have been wonderful and remind me every day just how blessed I am to live with such a great community. May God bless you for your goodness.

2 CARTA DE NUESTRO PÁRROCO Queridos Feligreses, El año litúrgico ha pasado y ahora advenimiento está sobre nosotros. Y tenemos que prepararnos para la venida de Cristo en nuestras vidas, ciertas cosas llegan a la cima de lo espiritual y haremos la lista, de tres en particular. Para estar preparados para su venida, debemos orar-sí incluso más que antes, debemos comunicarnos con el Dios vivo y viviendo dentro de nosotros. Debemos dar aquello que tengamos más preciado en nuestras vidas a Dios, debemos dar a Dios "tiempo". No cualquier tipo de tiempo, no sólo el que existe cuando no tenemos nada mejor que hacer, necesitamos darle a Dios "Tiempo de calidad". Cómo encontraremos "El Reino de Dios dentro de" excepto por tomarse el tiempo para estar con Dios? La capilla de adoración ante el Santísimo Sacramento es un gran lugar durante el Adviento. 2. parte nos acercamos a la temporada de Adviento. Hay algo en la época del nacimiento de nuestro Señor que llega a los corazones y almas y hace recordemos a que aquellos en necesidad. Nuestro Dios nos llama a ver que las necesidades de los pobres no son de temporada. Nuestra relación con Dios no puede ser solo de una estación del año. E l llamado de Dios es alimentar a los hambrientos, vestir al desnudo, dar refugio de los desamparados y visitar a los enfermos "24 y 7"; es decir, 24 horas al día y 7 días a la semana. 3. el amor y perdón el Reino de Dios se basa en el amor y el perdón. Para encontrarlo dentro de nosotros mismos, primero debemos amar y perdonarnos a nosotros mismos. Generalmente es más fácil perdonar a los demás de lo que es perdonarnos a nosotros mismos. Si perdonamos a alguien, hay una cierta cantidad de crédito que nos dicen de esa persona. Es muy, muy difíciles para nosotros aceptar ser amados y perdonados en nuestra cultura de independencia personal. Este martes por la tarde, el 4 de diciembre, es un buen momento para recibir el Sacramento de la reconciliación en nuestro servicio de penitencia a las 7:00 pm. Espero verte ahí. Que Dios los bendiga. Padre Dan P.S. Han pasado cuatro semanas desde mi cirugía de reemplazo de rodilla, y me he sentido muy raro al no tener un horario normal para adherirme por varias semanas. Ahora es el ejercicio y la terapia, un seguimiento quincenal que me estira los músculos de la rodilla para moverse como lo hicieron antes es difícil y doloroso pero muy esencial, como me lo dice todo mundo. Sus oraciones, visitas y tren-comida han sido maravillosos y me recuerdan cada día cuán bendecido soy de vivir en una gran comunidad. Que Dios lo bendiga por su bondad. Primer domingo de Adviento Que fortalezcamos nuestra relación con Jesús a través del sacramento de la Reconciliación. "Pero cuando estas señales comiencen a suceder, manténganse erguidos y levanten la cabeza porque su redención está próxima" (Lucas 21:28). Celebramos el Adviento cada año en preparación del nacimiento de Jesús, su primera venida, mientras esperamos su segunda venida. En esta temporada de Adviento, usa el sacramento de la Reconciliación para fortalecer tu relación con Jesús. Nunca es demasiado tarde.
