8 INSTAATION Optional Equipment Connections VCR Connection VCRs, video disc playes, video game equipment, and DSS equipment can also be connected to the video inputs. See the optional equipment manual fo moe infomation. Note: VIDEO 1input is a dual-pupose input. It is pimaily intended fo connection with 480i devices such as a DVD playe using the Y P B P R component video jacks and Audio & R jacks. Howeve, it can also be connected to conventional composite video souces such as a VCR, using only the Y/Video jack and Audio & R jacks. The on-sceen label will display Component o Video 1 depending on which souce is connected. H P J VIDEO 3 AUDIO IN R TERMINAS ON FRONT OF TV IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING USE OF VIDEO GAMES, COMPUTERS, DSS OR OTHER FIXED IMAGE DISPAYS. The extended use of fixed image pogam mateial can cause a pemanent shadow image on the pictue tube. This backgound image is viewable on nomal pogams in the fom of a stationay fixed image. This type of ievesible pictue tube deteioation can be limited by obseving the following steps: A. Reduce the bightness/contast setting to a minimum viewing level. B. Do not display the fixed image fo extended peiods of time. C. Tun the powe off when not in actual use. Note: The making o etained image on the pictue tube esulting fom fixed image use is not an opeating defect and as such is not coveed by Waanty. This poduct is not designed to display fixed image pattens fo extended peiods of time. 7

Audio Adjustments 1. Select TV SPEAKERS ON fom AUDIO menu. 2. Set amplifie volume to minimum. 3. Adjust TV volume to desied level. 4. Adjust amplifie volume to match the TV. 5. Select TV SPEAKERS OFF&VAO fom AUDIO menu. 6. Volume, mute, bass, teble and balance ae now contolled fom the TV. Note: In OFF&FAO the volume is contolled by the extenal amplifie. This television includes a Pictue In Pictue (PIP) featue. A second video souce (VCR, Camcode, etc.) is equied to povide a second pictue. Connect you television to a VCR and Cable Box, as shown. PIP Opeation with a VCR and Cable Box This television includes a two tune Pictue In Pictue (PIP) featue. This allows watching two (2) live boadcasts at the same time without o with an extenal video souce (VCR). Without A VCR (Extenal Video Souce) Pocedue 1. Connect incoming cable to antenna (ANT) input on back of TV. 2. Pess the PIP button on the Remote Contol to display the PIP fame. Note: The audio is fo the Main Pictue only. 3. Choose channels fo the PIP fame by pessing the Remote Contol PIP CHANNE up/down buttons. 4. Choose channels fo the Main Pictue by pessing the Remote Contol CH up/down buttons o by using the numeic keypad. With A VCR (Extenal Video Souce) And Cable Box Connect you television to a VCR and Cable Box, as shown. CHAN (Pogam Channels) AUTO PROGRAM - Automatically pogam channels having a signal into memoy. MANUA PROGRAM - Manually add o delete channels fom memoy. CC CC ON MUTE - Activate C1-C2 fo Closed Captioning display when the emote MUTE button is pessed. (Closed Captioning) CC MODE - Select C1 o C2 fo Closed Captioning, pogam guides and othe infomation. AUTO POWER ON - Select SET to powe up the TV at the same time as the Cable Box o othe components o select OFF. OTHER ADJ. CHAN BANNER - Select ON to display onsceen banne when changing channels. Note: Pess RECA to display onsceen Channel Banne at any time. AUDIO AUDIO ADJ. (Adjustments) OTHER ADJ. (Adjustments) SURROUND MODE - Select STEREO, SAP (Second Audio Pogam) o MONO. (Use MONO when steeo signal is weak.) BASS - Incease o decease the bass esponse. TREBE - Incease o decease the teble esponse. BAANCE - Emphasize the left/ight speake volume. NORMA - Reset BASS, TREBE and BAANCE to factoy default. AI SOUND - Automatically adjust volume to maintain a comfotable listening level. (AI sound is not available in VIDEO mode). SURROUND - Enhances audio esponse when listening to steeo. 14

Set one o both times to automatically tun television on and off at selected times, on selected channels, and on selected days. (Clock must be set to use Time featues). PICTURE VIDEO ADJ. Imagen en Imagen Con una Videocasetea (VCR) - Con Caja de Cable Esta Televisión incluye una caacteística de sintonizado dual paa Imagen en Imagen (IDI). Esto pemite ve dos (2) canales en vivo al mismo tiempo, ya sea con o sin una fuente de vídeo extena (VCR). Sin una Fuente de Vídeo Extena Pocedimiento 1. Conecte el cable de entada a la teminal de antena (ANT) de la pate posteio del TV. 2. Pesione el botón PIP en el Contol Remoto paa visualiza el ecuado IDI. Nota: El sonido es paa la Imagen Pincipal, únicamente. 3. Seleccione los canales paa el ecuado de IDI pesionando los botones PIP CHANNE aiba/ abajo del contol emoto. 4. Seleccione los canales de la Imagen Pincipal pesionando el botón de TV en el Contol Remoto y utilizando el teclado numéico o los botones de CH (Canal) aiba/abajo. Con una Fuente Extena de Vídeo (VCR y Caja de Cable) Conecte su televisión a una VCR y Caja de Cable, como se muesta. Nota: El sonido es de la Imagen Pincipal, únicamente. Paa visualiza una imagen difeente en el ecuado IDI: 1. Pesione el botón de TV/VIDEO en el Contol Remoto paa selecciona la misma entada de vídeo a la que su Caja de Cable está conectada. 2. Veifique que la Caja de Cable y VCR estén ENCENDIDAS y que la VCR esté sintonizada en el canal Seleccione los canales paa el ecuado IDI pesionando el botón CB y usando los botones PIP CHANNE aiba/abajo del Contol Remoto. 4. Seleccione los canales de la Imagen Pincipal pesionando el botón de TV en el Contol Remoto y utilizando el teclado numéico o los botones de CH (Canal) aiba/abajo. Nota: El botón de SWAP (CAMBIO) intecambia la fuente de las imágenes IDI y la Pincipal. Pesione el botón RECA paa que apaezca en pantalla el estado de la fuente de las imágenes IDI y la Pincipal.

Veifique que la VCR esté ENCENDIDA. 3. Seleccione los canales de la Imagen Pincipal pesionando el botón de TV en el Contol Remoto y utilizando el teclado numéico o los botones de CH (Canal) aiba/ abajo 4. Seleccione los canales paa el ecuado de PIP pesionando el botón de TV y usando los botones los botones PIP CHANNE aiba/abajo del Contol Remoto. Botón SWAP / RECA El botón de SWAP (CAMBIO) intecambia la fuente de las imágenes IDI y la Pincipal. Pesione el botón RECA paa que apaezca en pantalla el estado de la fuente de las imágenes IDI y la Pincipal. 11

38 CONEXIÓN DE DECODIFICADOR DE TEEVISIÓN DIGITA (DTV-STB) Conexión del Decodificado de Televisión Digital (DTV-STB) Utilice este diagama paa conecta el decodificado de Televisión Digital Panasonic (DTV-STB) a su Televiso. Utilice las entadas de audio compuesto; Izquieda () y Deecha (R) paa conecta las salidas de audio de su Decodificado de Televisión Digital Panasonic (DTV-STB). Seleccione el modo de salida paa fomato 480i del DTV-STV. El televiso solo puede ecibi señales en fomato 480i. Paa el Amplificado de Sonido / TO AUDIO AMP Conecte a la teminal de entada del AMP (amplificado) de sonido exteno paa escucha el sonido en sistema estéeo. Nota: as teminales TO AUDIO AMP no pueden se usadas diectamente paa bocinas extenas. Ajustes de Sonido (Audio) 1. Selecciona ATAVOCES SI en el menú de SONIDO (AUDIO). 2. Ajuste el volumen del AMP (amplificado) al mínimo. 3. Ajuste el volumen de la Televisión al nivel deseado. 4. Ajuste el volumen del AMP hasta iguala el de la Televisión. 5. Selecciona ATAVOCES NO&VAO en el menú de SONIDO (AUDIO). 6. Ahoa puede selecciona el volumen, y el silencio, usando los contoles de la Televisión. Nota: En NO&FAO el audio se contola mediante el contol de volumen del sistema del amplificado exteno.
