Poco se puede añadir aquí a los argumentos que Antonio de Fuentes García, autor del proyecto llamado Plan de negocio de Centro de Proceso de Datos (Año 2005), explica en su trabajo para justificar la oportunidad de la construcción y gestión de un Centro de Proceso de Datos. En efecto, en la era de la Información y de las Telecomunicaciones y en pleno crecimiento y desarrollo de la Red, parecía atractiva la idea de la creación de una empresa cuyo objetivo fuese ofrecer a los usuarios domésticos, profesionales liberales y PYME s los servicios necesarios para la presencia y desarrollo en Internet, y así queda reflejada y demostrada la viabilidad del proyecto en su Plan de Negocio. Pero al margen de lo atractivo del proyecto desde el punto de vista empresarial, la construcción de un Centro de Proceso de Datos ofrece un aliciente añadido para un Ingeniero Industrial, y es el siguiente: la diversidad de instalaciones que forman parte del mismo y que son necesarias para su funcionamiento. Éste es fundamentalmente el motivo de la elección del presente proyecto Montaje y Acondicionamiento de un Centro de Proceso de Datos (Proyecto constructivo), que se basa en el citado trabajo Plan de Negocio de un C.P.D y de alguna manera es una continuación del mismo. Así pues, el trabajo se plantea como un proyecto constructivo de edificación, prestando una especial atención a las instalaciones del edificio que, a fin de cuentas, es la disciplina que entra verdaderamente en el ámbito de la Ingeniería Industrial. Para ello se parte de una serie de premisas fijadas en el Plan de Negocio y que se resumen a continuación: - Dimensión de la empresa: 78 personas (año 2015). - Ubicación: Comunidad de Madrid.

2 - Solución técnica para el equipamiento crítico de la sala de servidores: solución modular InfraStruXure de APC (American Power Conversion), que permite el desarrollo escalable del C.P.D. reduciendo la inversión inicial. A partir de aquí se marcan una serie de fases del proyecto que se siguen de forma escrupulosa y aparecen resumidas a continuación: En primer lugar se procede a realizar la elección de la ubicación geográfica. Se elige una parcela real ubicada en el Parque Industrial La Dehesa, próximo a Madrid, con una superficie aproximada de unos 2000 m 2 y un precio de casi , que cumple las condiciones de comunicaciones y acceso, edificabilidad, etc. En segundo lugar se elabora un estudio de la estructura departamental. Partiendo de la dimensión de la empresa (78 personas) se hace un estudio de la estructura departamental de la misma, que tendrá que ser una de las bases para el diseño del edificio. A continuación se llevará a cabo el diseño del edificio. En base a la estructura departamental definida, se justifican los locales necesarios dentro del edificio y la superficie de los mismos. Todo ello, junto a la forma de la parcela y sus condiciones urbanísticas, sirve como punto de partida para el diseño del edificio. Éste finalmente constará de un sótano de 310 m 2, donde se aloja gran parte de la maquinaria y equipamiento necesario (Centro de Transformación, Grupos electrógenos, etc.), una planta baja de 500 m 2, que alberga toda la zona de oficinas, una planta primera de 415 m 2, donde se sitúa el corazón del edificio: la sala de servidores, y una terraza en la que se ubican los equipos de aire acondicionado. El siguiente paso es el diseño final de las instalaciones. Hay cinco tipos de instalaciones tratadas en el proyecto: Electricidad, Climatización, Comunicaciones voz y datos, Contra-incendios y Seguridad. Sin embargo, son las dos primeras las que tienen mayor peso en el presupuesto general y las que han sido estudiadas con mayor profundidad en el presente trabajo. La energía eléctrica necesaria para el desarrollo de la actividad en el edificio es suministrada mediante una línea subterránea de Media Tensión de 15 kv que alimenta, a través de las correspondientes celdas de MT, dos transformadores de 800 KVA cada uno conectados en paralelo y que en caso de avería de uno de ellos disponen de suficiente potencia para seguir suministrando toda la energía necesaria. Al mismo tiempo existen dos grupos electrógenos de 640 kw cada uno (uno redundante del otro) que entraría en funcionamiento sólo en caso de fallo del suministro normal de energía eléctrica, con el fin de alimentar los llamados sistemas críticos cuyo funcionamiento es

3 imprescindible para el normal desarrollo de la actividad. De dichos sistemas críticos hay que destacar los equipos ubicados en la sala de servidores (servidores, sistemas de almacenamiento y sistemas de refrigeración) que son la razón de ser del propio centro y su alimentación se hace a través de sistemas de alimentación ininterrumpida (UPS) para asegurar un suministro de energía continuo y limpio. En cuanto a la instalación de climatización hay que distinguir dos sistemas: la refrigeración de la sala de servidores y la climatización del resto del edificio. La primera se realiza con dos enfriadoras de agua (una redundante de la otra) situadas en la terraza que alimentan de agua fría a los 15 climatizadores (5 redundantes) Chilled Water de la sala de servidores. Para la climatización del resto del edificio se dispone una bomba de calor aire-aire que, por medio de una red de conductos, envía el aire a los distintos difusores situados en los despachos y zonas de trabajo del centro. Con esto se confeccionan las mediciones y presupuesto final, llegando a un resultado más óptimo que el obtenido en el Plan de Negocio, debido a que el precio total de la 1ª fase ( ) se reduce a tres millones y medio de euros.

4 ASSEMBLY AND PREPARATION OF A DATA CENTER (CONSTRUCTIVE PROJECT). Little it is possible to be added here to the arguments that Antonio de Fuentes García, author of the called project Plan of business of Data Center (Year 2005), explains in his work to justify the opportunity of the construction and management of a Data Center. In effect, in the era of the Information and the Telecommunications and in the heat of growth and development of the Network, the idea of the creation of a company whose objective is to offer to the domestic, liberal professional users and PYME's the necessary services for the presence and development in Internet seemed attractive, and thus is reflected and demonstrated the viability of the project in its Plan of Business. But to the margin of the attractiveness of the project from the enterprise point of view, the construction of a Data Center offers an incentive added for an Industrial Engineer, and is the following one: the diversity of installations that comprise of itself and that are necessary for its operation. This is fundamentally the main reason for the election of the present project Assembly and Preparation of a Data Center (constructive Project), that is based on the mentioned work Plan of Business of a C.P.D and somehow it is a continuation of it. Therefore, the work is considered like a constructive project of construction, rendering a special attention to the installations of the building that, after all, are the discipline in which enters the scope of Industrial Engineering. For that, it parts of several premises fixed in the Plan of Business and that are summarized next: - Dimension of the company: 78 people (year 2015). - Location: Community of Madrid. - Technical Solution for the critical equipment of the room of servers: modular solution InfraStruXure of APC (American Power Conversion), that allows to the development of the Data Center reducing the initial investment. From here it marks some phases of the project that are followed of scrupulous form and appear summarized next: In the first place it is come to make the election of the geographic location. It is chosen a real parcel located in the Industrial Park La Dehesa, next to Madrid, with an approximated surface of about a 2000 m 2 and a price of almost , that fulfil the conditions of communications and access, building, etc.

5 Secondly a study of the departmental structure is elaborated. Starting off of the dimension of the company (78 people), a study of the departmental structure of the same one can be realized, and it will have to be one of the bases for the design of the building. Next, the design of the building will be carried out. On the basis of the defined departmental structure, the necessary rooms within the building and the surface of such are justified. All of this, together with the plot form of the parcel and its town-planning conditions, serves as departure point for the design of the building. This one finally will consist of a cellar of 310 m2, where is lodged the great part of the machinery and necessary equipment (Center of Transformation, Auxiliary Generators, etc.), a ground floor of 500 m 2, that lodges all the zone of offices, a first plant of 415m 2, where is located the heart of the building: the room of servers, and a terrace in which are situated the conditioning air equipment. The following step is the final design of the installations. There are five types of installations treated in the project: Electricity, Air conditioning, Communications voice and data, Fire-fighting and Security. Nevertheless, the two first are those that have greater weight in the general budget and those that have been studied with greater depth in the present work. The necessary electrical power for the development of the activity in the building is provided by means of an underground line of Average Tension of 15 kv that it feeds, through the corresponding cells of MT, two transformers of 800 KVA connected each one in parallel and that in case of failure of one of them has sufficient power to continue providing all the necessary energy. At the same time exists two auxiliary generators of 640 kw each (one redundant of the other) that would enter operation only in case of failure of the normal provision of electrical energy, with the purpose of feeding the called critical systems whose operation is essential for the normal development of the activity. Of these critical systems it is necessary to emphasize the equipment located in the room of servers (servers, systems of storage and systems of refrigeration) which its feeding is made through systems of uninterruptible power system (UPS) to assure a continuous and cleaned provision of energy. As far as the air conditioning installation it is necessary to distinguish two systems: the refrigeration of the room of servers and the air conditioning of the rest of the building. First it is made with two cooling water machines (one redundant of the other) located in

6 the terrace that feed with cold water the 15 (5 redundant) Chilled Water of the room of servers. For the air conditioning of the rest of the building it is used a heat pump by air-air that, by a network of pipes, sends the air to the different diffusers located in the offices and zones of work. With this, the measurements and final budget are made, reaching a result more optimal than the one obtained in the Plan of Business, because the total price of 1ª phase ( ) is reduced to approximately three million and a half of euros.
