2 Feast of the Holy Family December 29, 2013 Message from Our Pastor My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes, Happy New Year! Also in anticipation. How nice that we always begin the new year with the Solemnity of Mary the Mother of God. This is especially true for us who have Our Lady of Lourdes as our patroness and who have consecrated ourselves to Jesus through her intercession. We will celebrate a bilingual vigil Mass at 7:00 p.m. on the 31 st. Mass on January 1 st will be offered in Creole at 10:00 a.m., in English at 11:30 a.m., and in Spanish at 1:00 p.m. Mary became the Mother of God and key to our salvation because her response to the Father was and has always been Be it done to me according to Your Will. As we begin anew let us say with her Be it done to me according to Your Will: Father use me this coming year as You desire. Taking advantage of the time we have in quiet with the Lord during our weekly Holy Hour, let us ponder the stirrings of His Spirit within and discern who He is calling us to be, what He is calling us to do in the year ahead. God has a plan for us both individually and collectively. Surely His Will for us includes the ministry of Lourdes. We have the particular blessing to be able to bring Lourdes to the people of Miami and Miami to the people of Lourdes. As we turn our attention to preparing for the celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes in February our hearts turn first to the sick. We will celebrate our Healing Mass and Candlelight Procession on Our Lady s feast day, February 11 th. We will also be announcing a pilgrimage to Lourdes for the coming year that will include our fellow parishioners who will be serving the sick at the Sanctuary of Lourdes. We hope in the coming year to prepare a pilgrimage especially for those who are sick and in need of special assistance to travel to Lourdes. Mary is a most loving mother and the coming year is sure to be full of excitement and blessing as together we bring Christ bring joy to the world. Blessings Msgr. Qué bueno que siempre comenzamos el nuevo año con la solemnidad de María, Madre de Dios. Esto es especialmente cierto para nosotros que tenemos a la Virgen de Lourdes como nuestra patrona y que nos hemos consagrado a Jesús por medio de su intercesión. Vamos a celebrar una Misa de vigilia bilingüe a las 7:00 pm el día 31. Las Misas del 1ro de Enero se ofrecerán en Creole a las 10:00 am, en inglés a las 11:30 am, y en español a la 1:00 pm. María se convierte en Madre de Dios y clave para nuestra salvación porque su respuesta al Padre fue y ha sido siempre, hágase en mí según tu voluntad. A medida que empezamos de nuevo digamos con ella, Hágase en mí según Tu Voluntad: Padre úsame este año que viene como desees. Aprovechando el tiempo que tenemos en silencio con el Señor durante nuestra Hora Santa semanal reflexionemos la agitación de Su espíritu en nuestro interior y discernamos quién Él nos está llamando a ser, qué Él nos está llamando a hacer en el próximo año. Dios tiene un plan para nosotros, tanto individual como colectivamente. Seguramente Su Voluntad para nosotros incluye el ministerio de Lourdes. Tenemos la bendición especial de poder llevar Lourdes a la gente de Miami y Miami a la gente de Lourdes. A medida que dirigimos nuestra atención a la preparación para la celebración de la Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes en Febrero, nuestros corazones se vuelcan primero a los enfermos.
