Stop the machine on a level surface, stop the engine, remove the ignition key, and lower the boom.. Allow the engine to cool completely before continuing. Install the intake pipe. Install the air cleaner. Connect the air cleaner to the engine.. Clean all dirt and debris from the machine. 5. Remove the air cleaner cover (Figure 1). If the engine has been running, the muffler and muffler guard will be hot and could burn you. This procedure requires you to touch the muffler guard. Allow the engine and muffler to cool completely before installing this kit. 1. Air cleaner cover Figure 1 6. Remove and discard the breather tube from the engine and carburetor (Figure ).. Install a new gasket and intake pipe onto the carburetor using the flange nuts you removed previously (Figure ), and torque the flange nuts to 5 to 69 in-lb (6 to 7.5 N-m).

3 Installing the Air Cleaner Parts needed for this procedure: 1 Engine mounting bracket 1 Canister assembly Flange-head bolt Washer Lock washer Nut 1 Plug 1. Assemble the engine mounting bracket to the canister mounting bracket using flange-head bolts, washers, lock washers, and nuts as shown in Figure 5. Figure 6 1. Bolt. Muffler guard. Flange-head bolt 7. Plug. Washer. Install the plug into the diagnostic port on the air cleaner canister (Figure 5).. Remove and save the bolt on the upper and inner edge of the muffler guard as shown in Figure Mounting bracket assembly. Bolt removed from the muffler guard Figure 7. 4 from the muffler guard, the bolt you removed from the valve cover, and a new flange-head bolt from the kit. Important: Ensure that you insert the mounting bracket between the engine and the muffler guard as shown in Figure 7. Connecting the Air Cleaner to the Engine Parts needed for this procedure: 1 Large air hose Hose clamp 1 Weather cap 1. If the air intake port is not pointing straight up, loosen the bolt and nut securing the canister mounting straps, rotate the canister so that the port is up, and tighten the bolt and nut to secure the canister (Figure 8). Figure 9 1. Hose clamp. Large air hose. Install the air hose onto the intake pipe on the carburetor and the lower port on the canister (Figure 9).. Slide the hose clamps over the hose and lip of the intake pipe and lower port and tighten them to secure the hose. 5. Slide two hose clamps onto the large air hose (Figure 9).

5 Maintenance Replacing the Air Filter Service Interval: Every 50 hours (more frequently if operating conditions are extremely dusty or sandy). Note: Service the air cleaner more frequently if operating conditions are extremely dusty or sandy. Important: To prevent engine damage, always operate the engine with the air filter and cover installed. 1. Stop the engine, remove the ignition key, and lower the boom.. Release the latches on the air cleaner and pull the air cleaner cover off of the air cleaner body (Figure 11). 1 Figure Weather cap. Air intake port. Hose clamp 6. Install the weather cap onto the air intake port and tighten the hose clamp (Figure 10). Figure 11 G Air filter body. Latches. Air filter. Air cleaner cover. Clean the inside of the air cleaner cover with compressed air.. Gently slide the air filter out of the air cleaner body (Figure 11). Avoid knocking the filter into the side of the body. Important: Never attempt to clean the air filter. Replace it after 50 hours 5. Carefully slide the primary filter into the canister (Figure 11). Ensure that it is fully seated by pushing on the outer rim of the filter while installing it. Important: Do not press on the soft inside area of the filter. 6. Install the air cleaner cover with the side marked UP facing up and secure the latches (Figure 11). 5

Deslice las abrazaderas sobre la manguera y sobre el borde del tubo de entrada y el orificio inferior, y apriételas para sujetar la manguera. 5. 12 Maintenance Cambio del filtro de aire Service Interval: Every 50 hours (Con más frecuencia si la zona de trabajo tiene mucho polvo o arena). Note: Revise el limpiador de aire con mayor frecuencia en condiciones de trabajo de mucho polvo o arena. Important: Para evitar dañar el motor, no haga funcionar nunca el motor sin que estén instalados el filtro de aire y la tapa. 1. Pare el motor, retire la llave de contacto y baje la espada.. Abra los cierres del limpiador de aire y tire de la tapa del limpiador de aire para separarla de la carcasa del limpiador de aire (Figure 11). 1 Figure 11 G Carcasa del filtro de aire. Cierres. Filtro de aire. Tapa del limpiador de aire. Limpie el interior de la tapa del limpiador de aire con aire comprimido.. Extraiga con cuidado el filtro de aire de la carcasa del limpiador de aire (Figure 11). Evite golpear el filtro contra el lado de la carcasa. Important: No intente nunca limpiar el filtro de aire. Cámbielo cada 50 horas 5. Deslice con cuidado el filtro primario sobre el cartucho (Figure 11). Asegúrese de que está bien asentado empujando sobre el borde exterior del filtro mientras lo instala. Important: No empuje sobre la zona blanda interior del filtro. 6. Instale la tapa del limpiador de aire con el lado que lleva la palabra "UP" hacia arriba, y fije los cierres (Figure 11). 6
