3 Upcoming Events at St. Edward Parish Friends & Fellowship The next free meal will be this Sunday, March 25, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. RCIA Group will prepare the meal. This meal is for anyone in our area who needs a free meal or just some company and fellowship. Thanks to all our parish groups who help us in this good cause, including the committee members. "A Lenten Encounter with MERCY" A video reflection with Fr. Jay and Mr. Collopy This Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Free coffee will be available. Rice Bowl Please bring your Rice Bowl with your donation to the parish office or to Mass this coming Easter Sunday. Thanks to you and your family for this commitment every year during Lent for the poor people in the world. Hospitality Sunday Hospitality Sunday is March 25 after the 7:15, 8:30, and 10:00 a.m. masses. Come for free donuts and coffee in the parish hall. This is an opportunity to meet fellow parishioners. Please take the time to introduce yourself and your family to a parishioner or family that you do not know. The goal of Hospitality Sunday is to enjoy coffee and donuts with friends and also become familiar with other parishioners. We appreciate the Hospitality Committee who set up the event and the Men s Club who pay for the donuts. Attention! Faith Formation families. Easter vacation begins on Holy Thursday, March 29. There will be no classes until Monday, April 9. Have a very blessed and holy Easter. April 8 - Mercy Sunday Friends and Fellowship Workshop Ministers to the Sick and Homebound On Thursday, April 12, at 7 p.m. at St. James the Apostle Church in Fremont. Extraordinary Ministers for Holy Communion and other ministers who participate in this ministry are welcome to attend. PAULINE BOOK FAIR The Daughters of St. Paul, religious women who communicate Christ using all forms of media, will be present at our Parish after all the Masses on the weekend of April 14 & 15. The Sisters have a wide variety of Bibles, books, movies, music, rosaries and other gifts, for both children and adults. They have something for the whole family! CONFESSIONS BEFORE EASTER Our St. Edward priests will be helping with Confessions at Holy Spirit on March 26, at 7:00 p.m. Our confession times at St. Edward are the same for Lent. The last day for Confessions before Easter Sunday, will be Wednesday, March 28 at 8:30 a.m. Fasting Abstinence from meat is observed on all the Fridays of Lent by all Catholics 14 years and older. Good Friday is a day of fasting also. Fasting is observed by all Catholics who are 18 to 59 years old. Good Friday Collection! Pope Francis has asked our parish to support the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, which helps Christians in the Holy Land. Your support helps the church minister in parishes, provide Catholic schools and offer religious education. The Pontifical Good Friday Collection also helps to preserve the sacred shrines. The wars, unrest and instability have been especially hard on Christians. In these times of crisis, the Pontifical Good Friday Collection provides humanitarian aid to refugees. When you contribute to the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, you become an instrument of peace and join with Catholics around the world in solidarity with the Church in the Holy Land.
