On the way they were talking about Him, and when a stranger joined them they continued to do so.

They reviewed the Scriptures and then the stranger spoke.

His words reached their minds, but not their hearts.

Then their eyes were opened and they discovered who He was. In the bread they found the answer to their hope.

He had walked with them prior to this and had talked much, but they only recognized Him when He shared bread with them. It was Easter morning. The defeat of Good Friday had not taken away hope from these disciples. They were sincere and dreamed of seeing Jesus risen. On the way they were talking about Him, and when a stranger joined them they continued to do so. It was the news of the day; a famous man had been put to death. They reviewed the Scriptures and then the stranger spoke. He spoke and explained, but the others didn t recognize Him. His words reached their minds, but not their hearts. Only when He stopped talking he made the gesture of sharing the bread. Then their eyes were opened and they discovered who He was. In the bread they found the answer to their hope. As we share His bread, let us pray that the Lord will help us to bring salvation to our brothers and sisters.. Mensaje del Párroco En el domingo de hoy leemos que los discípulos reconocieron al Señor resucitado en la fracción del pan. Antes Él había caminado con ellos y les había hablado mucho, pero tan solo lo reconocieron cuando compartió con ellos el pan. Era la mañana de Pascua. El fracaso del Viernes de Pasión no había arrancado de estos discípulos la esperanza. Ellos eran sinceros y se ilusionaban con ver a Jesús resucitado. En el camino hablaban de Él y cuando se les unió un forastero, siguieron hablando de Él. Era la noticia del día pues se habia dado muerte a un hombre famoso. Repasaron la Escritura y el forastero habló; habló mucho y explicó. Mas ellos no lo reconocieron. Su palabra les llegaba a la inteligencia, pero no al corazón. Cuando dejó de hablar, hizo un gesto: compartió el pan. Entonces se les abrieron los ojos y descubrieron que era El. En ese pan hallaron una respuesta a su esperanza. Al repartir el pan, que el Señor nos ayude a fin a nuestros hermanos la salvación de Dios.
