It is important to remember that as members of the Church, we are never alone, as Saint Paul said, 'We are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses' (Hebrews 12:1). These witnesses are the Saints who continually intercede for us (CCC 956); in choosing a confirmation saint, we are choosing a special friend to intercede for us in heaven and after whom we can model our lives while here on earth. 5 Year Two Confirmation Covenant I, with the support of my family and my sponsor, commit myself to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, the completion of my sacramental initiation. I fully understand that by committing myself to this process, I accept the responsibility to learn more about my faith, to serve others willingly, to reflect on my relationship with the Holy Spirit, and to become a witness of the gospel values and moral precepts of the church. Therefore, I make a covenant between God, Myself, and Saint Paul the Apostle to the following: I will attend the Confirmation preparation sessions as scheduled below. If I cannot attend a session, I must inform the Church within 24 hours. If I fail to attend a session I must make up the session before the next one. I understand that I may not miss more than two sessions. September 16 October 28 November 18 January 27 February 24 March 17 March Confirmation Retreat I will participate in service projects grounded in the spiritual and corporal works of mercy. I will meet with my sponsor periodically during this preparation period. I will attend the Confirmation Retreat for Year Two on March 29-30, I will participate in one large Youth Ministry event (DYC, Fall Retreat, Homeless Night, etc.) I will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation prior to the Sacrament of Confirmation I will faithfully attend the celebration of the Sunday Mass (includes Saturday Vigil Masses) I will participate in the Rite of Confirmation and any accompanying Rite of Introduction or Rite of Sending Forth.
