1. El FICU Lanterna tiene por objetivo proveer un espacio para la difusión de los futuros profesionales de la industria cinematográfica; enriqueciendo la formación de nuevos talentos, además de acercarlos a profesionales del medio. 2. La 7 ma edición del FICU Lanterna, se llevará a cabo del 7 al 10 de marzo de 2016 en las instalaciones de la Universidad Anáhuac México Norte, Edo. De México, México. También existirá la posibilidad de que los proyectos sean exhibidos en cedes alternas y/o eventos que entren dentro del programa de actividades anuales del festival. 3. Categorías en competencia: Podrán participar cortometrajes cuya producción sea posterior al 2 de febrero de 2014 y con duración máxima de treinta minutos (incluyendo créditos) que no hayan sido previamente exhibidos en salas públicas o televisión; podrán participar cortometrajes que ya hayan sido exhibidos en cualquier otro festival realizado en México o en el extranjero. Categorías: a. Ficción. b. Animación. c. Documental. d. Experimental. 4. Exhibición. Los trabajos inscritos podrán ser exhibidos durante el Festival en las fechas y sedes determinadas por el Festival. 5. Condiciones: a. La inscripción no tendrá ningún costo. b. La fecha límite de inscripción será el 2 de febrero de 2016. c. No existirá límite de inscripción para el número de películas por realizador. Sin embargo, cada proyecto deberá ser inscrito individualmente para poder tener un número de folio. d. La duración del proyecto deberá ser de entre 90 segundos a 30 minutos.
e. No se aceptarán videoclips, ni producciones que involucren proselitismo religioso, propaganda política, promoción institucional, perfil discriminatorio y/o comercial. f. Para ser admitidos, los materiales deberán presentarse en idioma español o inglés. En caso que el idioma original no sea español o inglés es requisito la traducción o subtitulación (inglés o español) del proyecto, de lo contrario no podrá ser considerada su participación. g. Los participantes del equipo de producción deberán adjuntar una identificación oficial (IFE o pasaporte). Así mismo se deberá incluir un documento que certifique su estado académico actual o su reciente certificación (credencial de estudiante, constancia académica, etc.). h. Será requisito anexar un press kit electrónico con los siguientes materiales: Foto fija del trabajo (color a 300 dpi, en formato.jpg) que represente el proyecto. Sinopsis de la obra. Breve biografía del director. Fotografía del director (color a 300 dpi, en formato jpg). Ficha técnica con lista de créditos. i. Fecha límite de inscripción y envío de materiales será el 2 de febrero del 2016. Una vez inscrita a la convocatoria, la película no podrá ser retirada de la misma. En ningún caso se pagará por los derechos de exhibición de un trabajo. Los cortos en Selección Oficial podrán ser consultados por profesionales de la industria durante el Festival y vistos en privado en un servidor seguro durante y después del evento por miembros del jurado, programadores y críticos de contenido del Festival. De igual manera serán publicados los contactos de cada productor o distribuidor correspondientes. j. Para considerar la participación dentro del proyecto, quienes inscriban el mismo deberán enviar una carta en la que certifique que posee todos los derechos y autorizaciones para la exhibición del filme.
k. Enviar el corto durante el proceso que comprende la convocatoria no garantizará su selección. El filme estará oficialmente seleccionado sólo si el Festival se lo ha notificado a quien lo inscribe. l. Inscribir una película significará aceptar las bases de la convocatoria del Festival. m. Se confirmará la recepción de los materiales por correo electrónico. Las películas enviadas después de la fecha de cierre de convocatoria no serán consideradas. n. Los trabajos seleccionados serán exhibidos durante el Festival en las fechas que el Festival estipule como convenientes. o. Al completar la inscripción de los cortometrajes, las personas propietarias de los derechos se comprometerán a aceptar el presente reglamento y en consecuencia a exhibir dicho trabajo durante las fechas y sedes determinadas por el Festival. p. Los derechos de propiedad intelectual y/o del cortometraje inscrito al Festival serán responsabilidad de quien inscribe el proyecto. 6. Opciones para inscribir un proyecto: a. Mediante nuestro sistema de inscripciones en la página web. b. Mediante WeTransfer al mail convocatoria@ficulanterna.com incluyendo: Video en 720p h264 Press kit. Formulario de registro completo. Documento en que conste la titularidad del derecho de autor, o en su defecto declaratoria de ser titular de los propios derechos. *Los cortometrajes seleccionados deberán enviar una versión en 1080p para poder ser proyectados dentro de la Selección Oficial del Festival.
7. Selección y jurado. La selección de los trabajos será competencia de la Organización del Festival por medio de un jurado formado por profesionales del medio cinematográfico. Su fallo será inapelable y será a criterio del mismo, por tal motivo no se dará ningún tipo de explicación a los realizadores o productores de los trabajos no seleccionados. 8. Premios. El FICU Lanterna entregará una constancia de participación a todos los seleccionados en la sección competitiva. Los premios estarán sujetos a las posibilidades del Festival y sus patrocinadores. a. Premios por categoría Mejor cortometraje. Mejor cortometraje por categoría. Mejor director. Mejor guión. Mejor fotografía. Mejor edición. Mejor diseño sonoro. 9. Eventualidades. Cualquier eventualidad no contemplada en esta convocatoria será resuelta por el Comité Organizador y será inapelable. 10. Competing categories: short films produced after February 2nd, 2014 with a maximum running time of thirty minutes (including credits) that have not been previously exhibited in public rooms or television; short films that have been exhibited in any other festival from Mexico or abroad. Categories: a. Fiction. b. Animation. c. Documentary. d. Experimental. 4. Exhibition. The submitted work may be exhibited during the Festival in the dates and venues determined by the Festival. 5. Conditions: a. Registration will be free of charge. b. The deadline for registrations will be February 2nd, 2016. c. There will be no submission limit for the number of films per filmmaker. However, each project must be submitted individually, for it to get a folio number assigned. d. The running time of each project must be between 90 seconds and 30 minutes. e. Projects containing religious proselytizing, political propaganda, institutional promotion or a discriminatory and/or commercial profile will not be admitted. f. In order to be admitted, materials must be presented in Spanish or English language. In case the original language is not Spanish or English the translation or subtitling (Spanish or English) is required, its participation cannot be considered otherwise. g. Participants of the production team must attach an official identification (ID or passport). Likewise they will have to include a document that certifies their current academic status or their recent certification (student ID, academic record, etc.) h. It will be required to attach an electronic press kit with the following materials: A still photo of the work (300 dpi color in.jpg format) that represents the project. Synopsis of the work.

The registration and material delivery deadline will be on February 2nd, 2016. Once submitted, the work will not be able for withdrawal. In no case will the broadcasting rights of any work will be payed for. The short films in the Official Selection may be consulted by industry professionals during the Festival and viewed privately on a secure server by jury members, programmers and content reviewers of the Festival. The contacts of each producer or distributor concerned will be published. j. The person who submits the project will have to send a letter in which he/she certifies his/her ownership of all rights and permits for the screening of the film in order to be considered. k. Sending the project during the convocation period will not guarantee its selection. The film will be officially selected only if the Festival notifies the person who submitted it. l. Submitting a film means accepting the conditions and guidelines of the call for entries of the Festival. m. The receipt of the materials will be confirmed via email. Films submitted after the deadline of the call will not be considered. n. The selected work will be exhibited during the Festival in the dates the Festival stipulates as convenient. o. By completing the registration of the films the owners of the rights agree to the present rules and thus, exhibit said work during the dates and in the venues determined by the Festival. p. The intellectual property rights and/or short film registered for the Festival will be responsibility of who registered the project. 6. Options to register a project: a. 7. Selection and jury. The selection of the work shall be responsibility of the Festival Organizers by the jury formed by film industry professionals. Their decision will be unappealable, for which reason no explanation will be given to the filmmakers or producers of the unselected work. 8. Awards. FICU Lanterna will deliver a participation certificate to all those selected in the competitive selection. The prizes shall be subject to the possibilities of the Festival and its sponsors. a.
