ESTUDIO TÉCNICO-ECONÓMICO COMPARATIVO DE LA CLIMATIZACIÓN DE UNA VIVIENDA CON ENERGÍA SOLAR TÉRMICA O ENERGÍA GEOTÉRMICA Autor: Oliveira González, Oriol. Director: Montes Ponce de León, Julio. Entidad Colaboradora: ICAI Universidad Pontificia Comillas.
TECHNICAL-ECONOMIC EVALUATION OF A CLIMATIZATION SYSTEM HOUSE WITH SOLAR THERMAL ENERGY OR GEOTHERMIC ENERGY SYSTEMS ABSTRACT - AIM This degree project is focused on the technical-economic study of two renewable energies with a strong difference between them: solar-thermal energy and geothermal energy of low temperature. Moreover, within the part of solar energy, we will compare the use of a conventional heat pump with one that works by absorption. The case to be studied will take part in a detached house located in the autonomous region of Madrid, next to Algete. The detached house has two floors. The ground floor/semi basement has a 676 m 2 surface and has two rooms with bathroom for the service, a garage, a swimming pool, a sauna, a gymnasium, a dressing room and an pump room. You can also enter the first floor from the street which has an 810 m 2 surface which consists of a meeting room, an office, an audition room, a living-dining room, a video arcade room, three rooms with bathroom, one room without bathroom and two dressing rooms. The surface to be acclimatized is 757.16m2 in total. The acclimatization will be achieved by radiant floor (heating and cooling). Fan-coils are suggested to step up areas of higher habitability. Renewable energies will be used in this evaluation as a support of the heat (by means of radiant floor), air conditioning (fan-coils), domestic hot water so as dehumidifier system and heating system of the swimming pool. In order to take the highest advantage of the energetic systems we will use heat pumps. Construction and operating costs will be considered comparing them to those of a heat system that works with fossil fuel and the availability of those who use renewable energies. This project will comply with the regulations and standards applicable to this kind of facilities such as the RITE (Building thermal systems regulation), CTE HE (Building
technical code - Energy safe), etc. The technical documentation made will be a key factor to understand the project maintaining the formalism of official documents. To obtain the initial data, we have to calculate the thermal load, which indicates an energy value of 1382kWh/year for the house acclimatization. The maximum power required for refrigeration in the most unfavorable day in summer is 157kWh while the maximum power required for the heat in the most unfavorable day in winter is 131kWh. Subsequently we calculate the energetic demand of the swimming pool which is 35950,11kWh/year: this means an average power of 4,1kWh. The last step to obtain the initial data, is to calculate the energetic demand of DHW which means a 6317,24kWh/year spending. This means an average power of 0,72KWh per year. With this data, we will estimate the different options and types of systems for each of the three offered alternatives (geothermal, solar thermal and solar thermal by absorption) -Economical evaluation: The economical evaluation sets out different alternatives so they can finally be compared to reach an optimal and viable solution. A possibility of asking for a subsidy granted by the autonomous region of Madrid for this kind of facilities (B.O.C.M. 154/2008) will be studied. The criteria of profitability used is the maximum TIR, calculated using the annual saving as cash flow in a time horizon of 20 years service life for solar collector. It has been taken into account the 3% annual increase of the CPI. The result of this evaluation will be the selection of the most profitable option for the project. -Conclusion The best choice is the use of geothermic energy with a payback of 5 years and a 32% TIR. The second choice is the conventional solar thermal energy system with a payback of 4 years and a 30% TIR. And the last choice is the solar thermal energy by absorption, with a payback of 15 years and a 4% TIR.
