ENSO We expect to observe weak El Niño conditions this winter (December- January- February; DJF) and think it is highly unlikely that strong El Niño (10%) or La Niña (~0%) conditions will be observed. Our internal research shows that in the absence of a strong ENSO event there is no significant relationship between ENSO and winter temperatures. As El Nino kicks in...much of S and W Argentina and parts of S and E Brazil are shown to trend normal to wetter than normal. Parts of Center-West and North Brazil are shown to trend drier than normal for Oct-Nov-Dec (maps to right). Australia trends mainly normal or possibly drier than in parts of the Southeast. Entonces
