All weekend long as I walked through the schoolyard, I was so delighted by the atmosphere of friendship and service that I saw everywhere. The people working in the booths, the people buying and eating, those cleaning up and so many other important activities made me even happier to be at our parish. And everything done so kindly and beautifully. I don't know how to thank you all for allowing us to spend a very blessed weekend together. Some Preliminary Figures Algunas cifras preliminares It looks like we made about 18,000 dollars on the raffle. We sold more than $30,000 food and booth tickets, so depending on the costs of food, we may have made $16,000 or $17,000. Thank you! Parece que recaudamos cerca de 18,000 dólares en la rifa. Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary last Tuesday We had a beautiful celebration of Our Lady of the Rosary on Tuesday with mariachi and prayer with candles. I want to encourage our parishioners to take some time this month (the month of the Rosary) to pray the rosary frequently. We have information on how to pray the rosary in the bookstore but the internet has many resources also. Let Our Lady touch your life even more through this very special prayer. Don't forget to vote on November 4! Padres, ayuden con el crecimiento spiritual de sus hijos. El programa ya empezó, hablen YA con Rosaura at X217. El programa Fe en Acción brinda clases educativas y gratuitas en nuestra parroquia sobre los tipos de cáncer, su prevención y recursos en la comunidad. Se reúnen los jueves de 6 a 8 pm en Salón Tepeyac. El Grupo de Matrimonios los invita todos los lunes de 7 pm a 9pm a sus alabazas, oración, meditación de la lectura del día y también reflexión. Todo es familiar. Hay cuidado de niños y jóvenes en el salón parroquial. Los esperamos. Parents, make sure your children continue their faith growth. Program has begun, please call Rosaura at X217 ASAP. FREE Child Care during the 9:00AM & 10:30AM Mass. Families with children (3 6 years old) can drop off their children in Kids Prayz during Mass. Children enjoy faith-based activities while parents attend Mass. Bring your children before mass to the Bertha Olivas Resource Room (a.k.a. daycare room) in the school. The book club will next meet on Monday, October 20th at 7 PM to continue talking about of Christology by Gerald O'Collins. Need Help? Are you going through a difficult time? World Mission Sunday is October 19th. This year we are invited to reach out and help build the Church in Mongolia, the world s youngest Catholic Church, as well as local churches throughout the Missions, in the most remote areas across our world. Through the work of these churches, and their witness to Christ, the poor receive practical help and experience God s love and mercy, His hope and peace. Please keep the Missions in your daily prayers.
