28 Relation with local population: recreational/environmental tourism Cabrera was a recreational destination before it became NP Main site for weekend sailors (charter or particular) Main site for touristic ferries Main site for divers All these activities are in use, with regulations All these activities have increased since 1991 All extractive uses are banned (except professional fishing) Either marine (diving, swimming, skiing, snorkeling, etc) or earth activities (trekking, picnic, kites, etc) are banned or regulated using zonification. Number of visitors or residents strictly regulated in some cases: Boats anchoring: max. 50 Divers: max. 3 boats/day Touristic ferries: max. 200 visitors/day, except in August (300visitors/day) Saling boat: no restriction in numbers, 2 months permitted/authorization 28
