2 UPPER AND LOWER EXTREMITY Innovative Solutions For Today s Orthopaedic Challenges Upper and Lower Extremity Surgeon Bioskills Course is a unique course with an exclusive focus on the upper and lower extremities. Leading experts will instruct meeting attendees in the form of lectures and hands-on workshops with sawbones. This two day course will cover topics including treatment of fractures and arthritis with a variety of techniques. Lab time, surgery demonstrations and in-depth lectures will provide an enriched learning environment for meeting attendees. Topics will be presented in four sections: Shoulder, Elbow, Hand Wrist, and Lower Extremity. Each section will be moderated by a course chairman with extensive clinical experience. Attendees are encouraged to share their clinical experiences to gain knowledge from the speakers and other meeting attendees. This course is designed to address challenges associated with upper and lower extremity surgery, and provide attendees with valuable information to incorporate into their practice. The course will begin at 8:00am Friday, the 11 th of May and conclude at 15:30pm Saturday, the 12 th of May. 3 Course Overview Elbow Course Featuring the latest philosophy in managing complex distal humerus fractures, a step-by-step lab will enable each participant to reconstruct a fracture using a Principle-Based Approach. This course will also cover olecranon, coronoid, and radial head fractures with recommended treatment options. Distal Humerus Fractures Olecranon Fractures Coronoid Fractures Radial Head Fracture Replacement Shoulder Course Focusing on the management of shoulder girdle, our faculty will share their experience in treating these challenging indications. Bringing extensive knowledge using all types of fixation, they will lead a discussion on the challenges of complex fractures and their treatment with precontoured locking plates and an osteoconductive bone void filler, followed by a hands-on skills lab. 4 Hand and Wrist Course Learn about the latest in the treatment of scaphoid fracture nonunions by exploring the solutions provided through the utilization of a headless compression screw. In this course, presenters will also cover the treatment history of distal radius fractures via arthroscopic and open approach using hardware with and without an osteoconductive bone void filler. Participants will benefit from a hands-on lab with suggestion treatment options for all of these challenging indications. Scaphoid Fractures Distal Radius Fractures Ulnar Shortening Osteotomy Lower Extremity Course Faculty will address the complex fractures of the Forefoot Midfoot, Hindfoot, and Ankle by concentrating on the latest minimally invasive techniques for these challenging indications. A hands-on skills lab will also provide participants with the opportunity to apply the suggested treatment options. 8 Acumed Bioskills-Miembro Superior e Inferior Soluciones Innovadoras para el reto de la ortopedia actual. El curso de Bioskills de Miembro Superior e Inferior está enfocado para dichos miembros exclusivamente. Expertos de ortopedia guiarán a los asistentes, con ponencias además de talleres con sawbones. Este curso de dos días cubrirá varios temas incluyendo el tratamiento de fracturas y artritis con una variedad de técnicas. A través de talleres, con demostraciones de cirugía y ponencias exhaustivas, proveerán un ambiente de aprendizaje para los asistentes. Los temas serán presentados en cuatro secciones: Hombro, Codo, Mano/ Muñeca, y Miembro Inferior. Cada sección será moderada por un líder del curso con extensa experiencia clínica. Los asistentes podrán compartir sus experiencias clínicas con los potentes y otros asistentes para ampliar su conocimiento. Este curso está diseñado por lideres-asociados a la cirugía de miembro superior e inferior con la finalidad de proveer a los asistentes de información valiosa para incorporar en su práctica. El curso comenzará a las 08:00, el viernes 11 de Mayo, y concluirá a las 15:30 el sábado, 12 de Mayo. 9 Cursos Curso de Codo Con la filosofía más reciente para abordar fracturas complejas del humero distal se llevará a cabo- un taller con instrucciones, paso a paso, que permitirá a cada participante reconstruir una fractura usando una aproximación principal. También comprenderá el olecranon, la coronoides y fracturas de la cabeza radial con opciones de tratamientos recomendados. 10 Curso de Mano y Muñeca Aprendizaje sobre los tratamientos de fracturas de escafoides y pseudoartrosis explorando las soluciones provistas por la utilización de un tornillo de compresión sin cabeza. En este curso, los potentes cubrirán la historia del tratamiento de las fracturas de radio distal vía artroscopía y por abordaje abierto con y sin el uso de Callos. Los Participantes se beneficiaran de un taller con opciones del tratamiento sugeridas para todas las indicaciones.
