2 THE SACRAMENTS BAPTISMS for Children take place in English on the 2 nd Saturday of the month. Parents, please register the child at the rectory at least one month in advance. Please bring the Birth Certificate for registration. GODPARENTS REQUIREMENTS : Godparents: A man and a woman over the age of 18 years; if married, they should have been married in the Catholic Church. (Please bring your marriage certificate) If the Godparents are single, they must not live with a partner and must have received the three sacraments of initiation, viz., Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist (Communion). They must bring as proof, certificates of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist (Communion). THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION (CONFESSION): Saturday 4:30 PM in English in the Church. Any day in the Rectory with an appointment. MATRIMONY (MARRIAGE): Couples should make an appointment with Rev. Jose Ambooken at least 6 months before the wedding date. They will then get all of the information required. ANOINTING OF THE SICK: Please inform a priest whenever anyone is seriously ill. In case of emergency, call the rectory at any time. 4 CCD REGISTRATION: The last date for registration to CCD classes (Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion) will be September 16. Classes begin on September 17. Las clases comienzan el 17 de septiembre. FR. TOMAS BOBADILLA: Five months back, on March 25, 2017, Our Pastor, Fr. Jose Ambooken received the copy of a letter which Msgr. Rafael Sandoval Sandoval, Bishop of the Autlán (Mexico) had written to Msgr. Ed Weber, the Director of priest personnel of our archdiocese of New York. Among other things, the Bishop writes: It has been almost one year since my appointment as bishop of the Diocese of Autlán, Jalisco, Mexico to which Fr. Tomás Bobadilla belongs. Now that I am assembling my diocesan pastoral team, I know that Fr. Tomás Bobadilla will be very useful because of his talent, dedication and experience. For this reason, I have decided that our brother priest Fr. Tomás should return to our diocese. In order to minimize any inconvenience which this decision might cause, I am requesting that Fr. Tomás report to our diocese no later than 01 September Hence Fr. Tomás will be leaving us. We wish him all the best in his Diocese. We thank him for the dedicated service in our parish with his friendly and cheerful ways. You are always welcome to visit us, Father, and you will always remain in our hearts and prayers. Father Tomás will celebrate the Mass at 11:30 today (Sunday Sept 3) following which there will be a farewell gathering in the hall below the Church. PADRE TOMAS BOBADILLA: Hace 5 meses, el 25 de marzo de 2017, nuestro Pastor P. José Ambooken recibió una copia de la carta que el Mons. Rafael Sandoval Sandoval, Obispo del Autlán (México) envió al Monseñor Ed Weber, el director de los sacerdotes de nuestra arquidiócesis de Nueva York. Entre otras cosas, escribe el obispo: "Ha pasado casi un año desde mi nombramiento como obispo de la diócesis de Autlán, Jalisco, México, al que el P. Tomás Bobadilla pertenece. Ahora que estoy reuniendo mi equipo pastoral diocesano, sé que el P. Tomás Bobadilla será muy útil por su talento, dedicación y experiencia. Por esta razón, he decidido que nuestro hermano sacerdote Padre Tomás debe regresar a nuestra diócesis. Con el fin de minimizar cualquier inconveniencia que esta decisión pueda causar, estoy solicitando que el P. Tomás regrese a nuestra diócesis no a más tardar el 01 de septiembre de 2017." Por lo tanto, el P. Tomás nos dejará. Le deseamos lo mejor en su Diócesis. Le agradecemos por el servicio dedicado en nuestra parroquia con sus formas amigables y alegres.
