9 Tipos de proyectos en Horizonte 2020 Se financian proyectos en todas las fases del proceso que lleva de la investigación al mercado que: Aporten valor añadido a nivel europeo, Sean de aplicación civil (no militar) Respeten los principios éticos y la legislación nacional, de la UE e internacional aplicable INVESTIGACIÓN, DESARROLLO TECNOLÓGICO, DEMOSTRACIÓN E INNOVACIÓN 9 26/03/2014

10 Principales características de los proyectos en Horizonte 2020 De forma general se desarrollan en consorcio transnacional, con la participación de al menos 3 entidades independientes entre sí, de 3 Estados de la UE o países asociados, aunque hay determinados tipos de proyectos en los que se puede participar de forma individual. Se ajustan a las líneas específicas de investigación e innovación detalladas en los programas de trabajo y las convocatorias correspondientes Presupuesto global que puede variar entre 0,5 y varios millones de (dependiendo del alcance de las actividades) Duración que puede extenderse, de forma general, entre 1 y 5 años dependiendo del alcance de las actividades 10 26/03/2014

Este objetivo general se llevara a cabo a través de tres prioridades que se refuerzan mutuamente: (a) la excelencia científica (b) el liderazgo industrial (c) los retos de la sociedad. 21 Horizonte 2020 vs. VII Programa Marco VII PM: Alimentación, agricultura y pesca y biotecnología Crear en Europa una bio-economía basada en el conocimiento (KBBE) agrupando a científicos, industria y demás interesados para explotar oportunidades de investigación nuevas y emergentes que aborden retos económicos, medioambientales y sociales, como la creciente demanda de alimentos más seguros, más sanos y de mayor calidad y de un uso y producción sostenible de bio-recursos renovables; el creciente riesgo de enfermedades epizoóticas y zoonóticas y de trastornos relacionados con los alimentos; amenazas a la sostenibilidad y seguridad de la producción de la agricultura, la ganadería, la acuicultura y la pesca; y la creciente demanda de alimentos de alta calidad que tengan en cuenta el bienestar de los animales y el contexto rural y costero, así como la respuesta a las necesidades dietéticas específicas de los consumidores H2020: Seguridad alimentaria, agricultura y silvicultura sostenibles, investigación marina, marítima y de aguas interiores y bioeconomía Garantizar un abastecimiento suficiente de alimentos seguros y de gran calidad y otros bioproductos, mediante el desarrollo de sistemas de producción primaria productivos y que utilicen los recursos con eficiencia, el fomento de los correspondientes servicios ecosistémicos, y la recuperación de la diversidad biológica, junto a cadenas de abastecimiento competitivas y de baja emisión de carbono. De este modo se acelerará la transición a una bioeconomía europea sostenible, estrechando la brecha entre las nuevas tecnologás y su implementación. 26 / 55

25 Reto social 2 Bioeconomía Estructura y Contenido Desbloquear el potencial de los recursos acuáticos vivos El objetivo general es la gestión de los recursos acuáticos vivos para obtener los máximos beneficios sociales y económicos de los océanos, mares y aguas continentales de Europa -Desarrollar un sector pesquero sostenible y respetuoso con el medio ambiente -Desarrollar una acuicultura europea competitiva y respetuosa con el medio ambiente -Impulsar la innovación marina y marítima por medio de la biotecnología 30 / 55

26 Reto social 2 Bioeconomía Estructura y Contenido Alimentación: Sector agroalimentario competitivo y sostenible para una dieta sana y segura Dar respuesta a las necesidades de los consumidores de alimentos seguros, saludables, de elevada calidad y asequibles considerando el impacto de las conductas del consumo alimenticio y la producción de alimentos y piensos sobre la salud humana, el medio ambiente y el ecosistema mundial. Además se abordará la seguridad de alimentos y piensos, la competitividad del sector agroalimentario europeo y la sostenibilidad de la producción, la oferta y el consumo de alimentos - Decisiones informadas por parte del consumidor -Nutrición: Alimentos y dietas saludables y seguros para todos -Industria agroalimentaria: Un sector agroalimentario sostenible y competitivo 31 / 55

27 Reto social 2 Bioeconomía Estructura y Contenido Bioindustrias sostenibles y competitivas que favorezcan el desarrollo de una bioeconomía europea El objetivo global es acelerar la conversión de las industrias europeas basadas en los combustibles fósiles en industrias con bajas emisiones de carbono, eficientes y sostenibles. La investigación y la innovación proporcionarán los medios para reducir la dependencia de la Unión de los combustibles fósiles y contribuirán al logro de los objetivos de política energética y medioambiental de la Unión para 2020 (10 % del combustible para transporte procedente de fuentes renovables y una reducción de los gases de efecto invernadero del 20 %). -Promover la bioeonomía y las bioindustrias -Desarrollar biorrefinerías integradas -Mercados: Apoyar el desarrollo de un mercado para los bioproductos y los bioprocesos 32 / 55

28 Reto social 2 Bioeconomía Estructura y Contenido Investigación transversal marina y marítima El objetivo es aumentar el impacto de los mares y océanos de la Unión en la sociedad y en el crecimiento económico mediante la explotación de los recursos marinos así como el uso de las diversas fuentes de energía marina y de la amplia gama de diferentes usos que se hacen de los mares. Se apoyará asimismo la aplicación de las políticas pertinentes de la Unión para contribuir a lograr objetivos claves de crecimiento azul. - Ecosistemas marinos: repercusión del cambio climático en los ecosistemas marinos y en la economía marítima - Recursos marinos: Desarrollo del potencial de los recursos marinos mediante enfoque integrado -Tecnologías: Conceptos y tecnologías transversales que permitan el crecimiento marítimo 33 / 55 Oceans of Tomorrow

58 WORK PROGRAMME ROLE OF EIP AGRO Multi-actor approach: The multi-actor approach aims at more demand-driven innovation through the genuine and sufficient involvement of various actors (end-users such as farmers/farmers' groups, fishers/fisher's groups, advisors, enterprises, etc.) all along the project: from the participation in the planning of work and experiments, their execution up until the dissemination of results and the possible demonstration phase. The adequate choice of key actors with complementary types of knowledge (scientific and practical) should be reflected in the description of the project proposals and result in a broad implementation of project results. The multi-actor approach is more than a strong dissemination requirement or what a broad stakeholders' board can deliver: it should be illustrated with sufficient quantity and quality of knowledge exchange activities and a clear role for the different actors in the work. This should generate innovative solutions that are more likely to be applied thanks to the crossfertilisation of ideas between actors, the co-creation and the generation of coownership for eventual results. A multi-actor project needs to take into account how the project proposal's objectives and planning are targeted to needs / problems and opportunities of end-users, and the complementarity with existing research. Facilitation between actors and openness to involve additional actors/groups of actors during the project, for instance relevant EIP operational groups, are strongly recommended.
