2 THE CATHOLIC CHURCH HERE COMES EVERYBODY This popular way of describing the universality of our Church is a theme of today s readings. The prophet Isaiah tells of God s servant who will be the light of the na ons. It will not be enough for this servant only to bring back the survivors of Israel s dispersion and cap vity. God s salva on must reach to the ends of the earth. Saint Paul writes to a local church of mainly Gen les and presumably former sinners of all kinds in Corinth. He greets them and tells them that they are to take their place with saints everywhere in the name of Jesus Christ. The Gospel reading from John tells of Jesus commissioning by the Father in the Holy Spirit to bring salva on to all, to take away the sins of the world. This Chosen One has come to bap ze the world in God s Spirit. Everybody. 4 CELEBRATION of the SANTO NINO Most Rev. Bishop Oscar A. Solis, DD and local priests will come together to celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at 7:00pm. The Novena prayers and Chaplet will follow the mass. We are privileged to have an exact replica of the Infant Jesus of Prague (Santo Nino) clothed in a relic of the Holy Robe that adorns the original statute in the shrine at Prague. The Knights of Columbus is a Roman Catholic fraternal organization, named in honor of Christopher Columbus. It is open to membership to Catholic men age 18 and over. All Employees and volunteers (that have not attended yet) are required to attend this sessions. There will be a English session on February 15, 2014 from 1:00pm 4:00pm here at Maria Regina in the Parish Hall everyone is invited. Catholic School Week January 26 February 1 National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2014 is January 26 to February 1. Schools typically observe National Catholic Schools Week with Masses, open house and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members.
