How to reset your unit Press and hold both the SEL (Select) and (Standby/On/ATT) buttons at the same time for several seconds. This will reset the built-in microcomputer. NOTES: Your preset adjustments such as preset channels or sound adjustments will also be erased. If a CD is in the unit, it will eject when you reset the unit. Pay attention not to drop the CD. (Standby/On/ATT) SEL (Select) BEFORE USE * For safety... Do not raise the volume level too much, as this will block outside sounds, making driving dangerous. Stop the car before performing any complicated operations. *Temperature inside the car... 4 BASIC OPERATIONS ENGLISH 3 Note: When you use this unit for the first time, set the built-in clock correctly, see page 9. Turn on the power. Note on One-Touch Operation: When you select a source in step below, the power automatically comes on. You do not have to press this button to turn on the power. Select the source. To operate the tuner, see pages 5 9. To operate the CD player, see pages 0. 3 Adjust the volume. Volume level indicator Volume level appears 4 Adjust the sound as you want (see pages 3 8). To drop the volume in a moment Press briefly while listening to any source. ATT starts flashing on the display, and the volume level will drop in a moment. To resume the previous volume level, press the button briefly again. To turn off the power Press for more than second. 4

5 RADIO OPERATIONS Listening to the radio ENGLISH Select the band (FM, FM, FM3 or AM). You can select any one of FM, FM, and FM3 to listen to an FM station. selected band appears AM Audio or volume level indicator FM FM FM3 To search stations of higher frequencies. To search stations of lower frequencies. Start searching a station. When a station is received, searching stops. To stop searching before a station is received, press the same button you have pressed for searching. To tune in a particular frequency without searching: Select the band (FM or AM). Press FM or AM repeatedly. Press and hold or 4 until M starts flashing on the display. Now you can manually change the frequency while M is flashing. 3 Press or 4 repeatedly until the frequency you want is reached. If you hold down the button, the frequency keeps changing until you release the button. 5

6 ENGLISH Storing stations in memory You can use one of the following two methods to store broadcasting stations in memory. Automatic preset of FM stations: SSM (Strong-station Sequential Memory) Manual preset of both FM and AM stations FM station automatic preset: SSM You can preset 6 local FM stations in each FM band (FM, FM, and FM3). FM FM FM3 Select the FM band number (FM, FM or FM3) you want to store FM stations into. Press and hold the both buttons for more than seconds. SSM appears, then disappears when automatic preset is over. Local FM stations with the strongest signals are searched and stored automatically in the band number you have selected (FM, FM or FM3). These stations are preset in the number buttons No. (lowest frequency) to No. 6 (highest frequency). When automatic preset is over, the station stored in number button will be automatically tuned in. 6

7 Manual preset You can preset up to 6 stations in each band (FM, FM, FM3 and AM) manually. EXAMPLE: Storing an FM station of 88.3 MHz into the preset number of the FM band ENGLISH 3 Select the FM band. Tune into a station of 88.3 MHz. See page 5 to tune into a station. 3 Press and hold the button for more than seconds. P flashes for a few seconds. 4 Repeat the above procedure to store other stations into other preset numbers. Notes: A previously preset station is erased when a new station is stored in the same preset number. Preset stations are erased when the power supply to the memory circuit is interrupted (for example, during battery replacement). If this occurs, preset the stations again. 7

8 ENGLISH Tuning into a preset station You can easily tune into a preset station. Remember that you must store stations first. If you have not stored them yet, see pages 6 and 7. Select the band (FM, FM, FM3 or AM) you want. AM FM FM FM3 Select the number ( 6) for the preset station you want. 8

9 Other convenient tuner functions ENGLISH RPT/SCAN MO/RND Scanning broadcast stations When you press RPT/SCAN while listening to the radio, station scanning starts. Each time a broadcast is tuned in, scanning stops for about 5 seconds (tuned frequency number flashes on the display), and you can check what program is now being broadcasted. If you want to listen to that program, press the same button again to stop scanning. Selecting FM reception sound When an FM stereo broadcast is hard to receive: Press MO/RND (Mono/Random) while listening to an FM stereo broadcast. The sound you hear becomes monaural but reception will be improved. A Lights up when receiving an FM broadcast in stereo. To restore the stereo effect, press the same button again. 9

10 CD OPERATIONS ENGLISH Playing a CD 0 Insert a disc into the loading slot. The unit turns on, draws a CD and starts playback automatically. When a CD is inserted upside down, EJECT appears on the display and the CD automatically ejects. A A Total playing time of the inserted disc Total track number of the inserted disc Elapsed playing time Current track Note on One-Touch Operation: When a CD is already in the loading slot, pressing CD turns on the unit and starts playback automatically. 0 CAUTION on Volume Setting CDs produces very little noise compared with other sources. If the volume level is adjusted for the tuner, for example, the speakers may be damaged by the sudden increase in the output level. Therefore, lower the volume before playing a CD and adjust it as required during playback. To stop play and eject the CD Press 0. CD play stops and the CD automatically ejects from the loading slot. The source changes to the tuner (you will hear the last received station). If you change the source to FM or AM, the CD play also stops (without ejecting the CD this time). If the ejected disc is not removed for about 5 seconds, the disc is automatically inserted again into the loading slot to protect it from dust. (CD play will not start this time.) You can eject the CD even when the unit is turned off.

11 Locating a track or a particular portion on a CD ENGLISH Number buttons To fast forward or reverse the track 4 Press and hold, while playing a CD, to fast forward the track. Press and hold 4, while playing a CD, to reverse the track. To go to the next track or the previous track Press briefly, while playing a CD, to go ahead to the beginning of the next track. Each time you press the button consecutively, the beginning of the next tracks is located and played back. Press 4 briefly, while playing a CD, to go back to the beginning of the current track. Each time you press the button consecutively, the beginning of the previous tracks is located and played back. To go to a particular track directly Press the number button corresponding to the track number to start its playback. To select a track number from 6: Press (7) 6 () briefly. To select a track number from 7 : Press and hold (7) 6 () for more than second.

12 ENGLISH Selecting CD playback modes RPT/SCAN MO/RND To play back tracks at random (Random Play) You can play back all tracks on the CD at random. Each time you press MO/RND (Mono/Random) while playing a CD, CD random play mode turns on and off alternatively. When the random mode is turned on, the RND indicator lights up on the display and a track randomly selected starts playing. To play back tracks repeatedly (Repeat Play) You can play back the current track repeatedly. Each time you press RPT/SCAN (Repeat/Scan) while playing a CD, CD repeat play mode turns on and off alternatively. When the repeat mode is turned on, the RPT indicator lights up on the display. Track number of the currently playing track Other convenient CD functions Prohibiting CD ejection You can prohibit the CD ejection and can lock a CD in the loading slot. Press and hold CD and 0 for more than seconds. EJECT flashes on the display for about 5 seconds, and the CD is locked. To cancel the prohibition and unlock the CD, press and hold CD and 0 for more than seconds again. EJECT appears on the display, and the CD ejects from the loading slot.

13 SOUND ADJUSTMENTS Adjusting the sound You can adjust the treble/bass sound and the speaker balance. ENGLISH Equalization pattern indicator Select the item you want to adjust. (Volume) Note: * If you are using a two-speaker system, set the fader level to 00. Adjust the level. Equalization pattern changes as you adjust the bass or treble. Note: Normally the control dial works as the volume control. So you do not have to select VOL to adjust the volume level. 3

14 ENGLISH Turning on/off the loudness function The human ear is less sensitive to low and high frequencies at low volumes. The loudness function can boost these frequencies to produce well-balanced sound at low volume level. Each time you press LOUD, the loudness function turns on and off 4

15 Using the Sound Control Memory You can select and store a preset sound adjustment suitable to each playback source. (Advanced SCM) Selecting and storing the sound modes Once you select a sound mode, it is stored in memory, and will be recalled every time you select the same source. A sound mode can be stored each of the following sources FM, FM, FM3, AM or CD. If you do not want to store the sound mode separately for each playback source, but want to use the same sound mode for all the sources, see Canceling Advanced SCM on page 7. ENGLISH SCM indicator and sound mode indicators Equalization pattern indicator Select the sound mode you want. Each time you press the button, the sound mode changes as follows. When SCM LINK is set to LINK ON, the selected sound mode can be stored in memory for the current source and the effect applies only to the current source. Each time you change the playback source, the SCM indicator flashes on the display. When SCM LINK is set to LINK OFF, the selected sound mode effect applies to any source. 16 ENGLISH Recalling the sound modes When SCM LINK is set to LINK ON, select the source. The sound mode stored in memory for the selected source is recalled. Sound mode indicator Notes: You can adjust each sound mode to your preference, and store it in memory. If you want to adjust and store your original sound mode, see Storing your own sound adjustments on page 8. To adjust the bass and treble reinforcement levels or to turn on/off the loudness function temporarily, see pages 3 and 4. (Your adjustments will be cancelled if another source is selected.) 6

17 Canceling Advanced SCM You can cancel the Advanced SCM (Sound Control Memory), and unlink the sound modes and the playback sources. When shipped from the factory, a different sound mode can be stored in memory for each source so that you can change the sound modes simply by changing the sources. LINK ON: Advanced SCM (different SCMs for different sources) LINK OFF: Conventional SCM (one SCM for all sources) ENGLISH 3, 4 Press and hold SEL for more than seconds. CLOCK H, CLOCK M, SCM LINK, or LEVEL appears on the display. Select SCM LINK if not shown on the display. 3 Select the desired mode LINK ON or LINK OFF. 4 Finish the setting. 7

18 ENGLISH Storing your own sound adjustments You can adjust the sound modes (BEAT, SOFT, POP: see page 5) to your preference and store your own adjustments in memory. 3 Within 5 seconds, 4 Call up the sound mode you want to adjust. See page 5 for details. To adjust the bass or treble sound level Select BAS or TRE. 3 Within 5 seconds To turn on or off the loudness function Each time you press LOUD, the loudness function turns on and off alternatively. (= go to step 4) Adjust the bass or treble level. See page 3 for details. 4 Within 5 seconds Press and hold SCM until the sound mode you have selected in step flashes on the display. Your setting is stored in memory. 5 Repeat the same procedure to store other settings. 8 To reset to the factory settings Repeat the same procedure and reassign the preset values listed in the table on page 5.

20 ENGLISH To check the current clock time (changing the display mode) Press DISP repeatedly. Each time you press the button, the display mode changes as follows. During tuner operation: Frequency Clock During CD operation: Elapsed playing time Clock If the unit is not in use when you press DISP, the power turns on, the clock time is shown for 5 seconds, then the power turns off. 0

21 Selecting the level display You can select the level display according to your preference. When shipped from the factory, AUDIO is selected. AUDIO : Shows the audio level indicator and the equalization pattern indicator. AUDIO : Alternates AUDIO setting and illumination display. OFF: Erases the audio level indicator and the equalization pattern indicator. ENGLISH 3 Equalization pattern indicator, 4 and Level indicator Press and hold SEL for more than seconds. CLOCK H, CLOCK M, SCM LINK, or LEVEL appears on the display. Select LEVEL if not shown on the display. 3 Select the desired mode AUDIO, AUDIO or OFF. 4 Finish the setting.

22 ENGLISH Detaching the control panel You can detach the control panel when leaving the car. When detaching or attaching the control panel, be careful not to damage the connectors on the back of the control panel and on the panel holder. How to detach the control panel Before detaching the control panel, be sure to turn off the power. Unlock the control panel. How to attach the control panel Insert the left side of the control panel into the groove on the panel holder. Lift and pull the control panel out of the unit. Press the right side of the control panel to fix it to the panel holder. 3 Put the detached control panel into the case provided. Note on cleaning the connectors: If you frequently detach the control panel, the connectors will deteriorate. To minimize this possibility, periodically wipe the connectors with a cotton swab or cloth moistened with alcohol, being careful not to damage the connectors. Connectors

23 REMOTE OPERATIONS Before using the remote controller: Aim the remote controller directly at the remote sensor on the main unit. Make sure there is no obstacle in between. Do not expose the remote sensor to strong light (direct sunlight or artificial lighting). Remote sensor ENGLISH Installing the battery When the controllable range or effectiveness of the remote controller decreases, replace the battery. (back side) ) ). Remove the battery holder. ) Push out in the direction indicated by the arrow using a ball point pen or a similar tool. ) Remove the battery holder. Lithium coin battery (product number: CR05). Place the battery. Slide the battery into the holder with the + side facing upwards so that the battery is fixed in the holder. (back side) 3. Return the battery holder. Fast forwards or reverses the track if pressed and held while listening to a CD. Skips to the beginning of the next tracks or goes back to the beginning of the current (or previous tracks) if pressed briefly while listening to a CD. 4

25 MAINTENANCE Handling CDs This unit has been designed only to reproduce the CDs bearing the mark. DIGITAL AUDIO Other discs cannot be played back. How to handle CDs When removing a CD from its case, press down the center holder of the case and lift the CD out, holding it by the edges. Center holder Always hold the CD by the edges. Do not touch its recording surface. When storing a CD into its case, gently insert the CD around the center holder (with the printed surface facing up). Make sure to store CDs into the cases after use. To keep CDs clean A dirty CD may not play correctly. If a CD does becomes dirty, wipe it with a soft cloth in a straight line from center to edge. To play new CDs New CDs may have some rough spots around the inner and outer edges. If such a CD is used, this unit may reject the CD. To remove these rough spots, rub the edges with a pencil or ball-point pen, etc. Moisture condensation Moisture may condense on the lens inside the CD player in the following cases: After starting the heater in the car. If it becomes very humid inside the car. Should this occur, the CD player may malfunction. In this case, eject the CD and leave the unit turned on for a few hours until the moisture evaporates. COMPACT ENGLISH CAUTIONS: Do not insert 8cm (3 3/6") CDs (single CDs) into the loading slot. (Such CDs cannot be ejected.) Do not insert any CD of unusual shape like a heart or flower; otherwise, it will cause a malfunction. Do not expose CDs to direct sunlight or any heat source or place them in a place subject to high temperature and humidity. Do not leave them in a car. Do not use any solvent (for example, conventional record cleaner, spray, thinner, benzine, etc.) to clean CDs. When playing a CD-R (Recordable) You can play back your original CD-Rs on this recevier. Before playing back CD-Rs, read their instructions or cautions carefully. Some CD-Rs recorded on CD recorders may not be played back on this receiver because of their disc characteristics, and of the following reasons: Discs are dirty or scratched. Moisture condensation occurs on the lens inside the unit. The pickup lens inside the CD player is dirty. Use only finalized CD-Rs. CD-RWs (Rewritable) cannot be played back on this recevier. About mistracking: Mistracking may result from driving on extremely rough roads. This does not damage the unit and the CD, but will be annoying. We recommend that you stop CD play while driving on such rough roads. 5

26 ENGLISH TROUBLESHOOTING What appears to be trouble is not always serious. Check the following points before calling a service center. Symptoms CD cannot be played back. Causes CD is inserted upside down. Remedies Insert the CD correctly. CD sound is sometimes interrupted. Sound cannot be heard from the speakers. SSM (Strong-station Sequential Memory) automatic preset does not work. Static noise while listening to the radio. NO DISC appears on the display. CD can be neither played back nor ejected. The unit does not work at all. You are driving on rough roads. CD is scratched. Connections are incorrect. The volume is turned to the minimum level. Connections are incorrect. Signals are too weak. The antenna is not connected firmly. No CD is in the loading slot. CD is inserted incorrectly. The CD player may function incorrectly. The built-in microcomputer may function incorrectly due to noise, etc. Stop CD play while driving rough roads. Change the CD. Check the cords and connections. Adjust it to the optimum level. Check the cords and connections. Store stations manually. Connect the antenna firmly. Insert a CD into the loading slot. Insert it correctly. Press and 0 at the same time for more than seconds. Be careful not to drop CD when it is ejected. Press and SEL at the same time for more than seconds to reset the unit. (The clock setting and preset stations stored in memory are erased.) 30 OPERACIONES BASICAS ESPAÑOL 3 Encienda la unidad. Nota: Cuando utilice esta unidad por primera vez, ponga el reloj incorporado en hora; consulte la página 9. Nota sobre la operación de un solo toque: La unidad se enciende automáticamente cuando usted selecciona una fuente en el paso de abajo. No necesitará presionar este botón para encender la unidad. Seleccione la fuente. Para operar el sintonizador, consulte las páginas 5 9. Para operar el reproductor de CD, consulte las páginas 0. 3 Ajuste el volumen. Indicador de nivel de volumen Aparece el nivel de volumen 4 Ajuste el sonido según se desee (consulte las páginas 3 8). 31 OPERACION DE LA RADIO Para escuchar la radio ESPAÑOL Seleccione la banda (FM, FM, FM3 o AM). Podrá seleccionar entre FM, FM y FM3 para escuchar una emisora FM. Aparece la banda seleccionada AM Indicador de nivel de audio o volumen FM FM FM3 Para buscar emisoras de frecuencias más altas. Para buscar emisoras de frecuencias más bajas. Comience la búsqueda de la emisora. La búsqueda se interrumpe cada vez que se recibe una emisora. Para cancelar la búsqueda antes de recibir una emisora, pulse el mismo botón que el pulsado para la búsqueda. Para sintonizar manualmente una determinada frecuencia: Seleccione la banda (FM o AM). Pulse FM/AM repetidas veces. Pulse y mantenga pulsado o 4 hasta que empiece a destellar M en el visor. Ahora podrá cambiar manualmente la frecuencia mientras está destellando M. 3 Pulse o 4 repetidas veces hasta llegar a la frecuencia deseada. Manteniendo pulsado el botón, la frecuencia cambiará rápidamente hasta soltarlo. 5

32 Cómo almacenar emisoras en la memoria Las emisoras podrán almacenarse en la memoria mediante uno de los dos métodos siguientes. Preajuste automático de emisoras FM: SSM (Memoria secuencial de las emisoras más fuertes) Preajuste manual de ambas emisoras FM y AM ESPAÑOL Preajuste automático de emisoras FM: SSM Pueden preajustarse 6 emisoras FM locales en cada banda FM (FM, FM y FM3). FM FM FM3 Seleccione el número de la banda FM (FM, FM o FM3) en que desea almacenar las emisoras FM. Pulse y mantenga pulsado ambos botones durante más de segundos. Aparece y se mantiene visualizado SSM hasta finalizar el preajuste automático. Las emisoras FM locales con las señales más intensas serán exploradas y almacenadas automáticamente en el número de banda seleccionado (FM, FM o FM3). Estas emisoras quedan preajustadas en los botones No. (frecuencia más baja) a No.6 (frecuencia más alta). Cuando finalice el preajuste automático, se sintonizará automáticamente la emisora almacenada en el botón número. 6

33 Preajuste manual Podrá preajustar manualmente hasta 6 emisoras en cada banda (FM, FM, FM3 y AM). EJEMPLO: Almacenamiento de una emisora FM de 88,3 MHz en el número de preajuste de la banda FM ESPAÑOL 3 Seleccione la banda FM. Sintonice la emisora de 88,3 MHz. Para sintonizar una emisora, consulte la página 5. 3 Pulse y mantenga pulsado el botón durante más de segundos. P destella durante algunos segundos. 4 Repita el procedimiento de arriba para almacenar otras emisoras en los otros números de preajuste. Notas: La emisora preajustada previamente se borra cuando se almacena una emisora nueva en el mismo número de preajuste. Si se deja de suministrar energía al circuito de la memoria (por ejemplo, durante el reemplazo de la batería) se borrarán todas las emisoras preajustadas. Si así sucede, vuelva a preajustar las emisoras. 7

34 Cómo sintonizar una emisora preajustada Las emisoras preajustadas pueden sintonizarse fácilmente. Tenga presente que primero deberá almacenar las emisoras. Si todavía no lo ha hecho, consulte las páginas 6 y 7. ESPAÑOL Seleccione la banda (FM, FM, FM3 o AM) deseada. AM FM FM FM3 Seleccione el número ( 6) en que desea preajustar la emisora. 8

35 Otras convenientes funciones del sintonizador SCAN MO/RND ESPAÑOL Exploración de emisoras Si pulsa SCAN mientras está escuchando la radio, se iniciará la exploración de las emisoras. Cada vez que se recibe una emisora, la exploración se interrumpe durante aproximadamente 5 segundos (el número de la frecuencia sintonizada destella en el visor) para que pueda verificar cuál es el programa que se está transmitiendo. Si desea escuchar ese programa, presione otra vez el mismo botón para cancelar la exploración. Selección del sonido de recepción de FM Si las condiciones de recepción de un programa FM en estéreo son deficientes: Pulse MO/RND (Mono/Aleatoria) mientras escucha un programa FM en estéreo. El sonido escuchado será monofónico pero las condiciones de recepción serán mucho mejores. A Se enciende cuando se recibe un programa FM en estéreo. Para restablecer el efecto estéreo, pulse el mismo botón otra vez. 9

36 OPERACION DEL REPRODUCTOR DE CD Para reproducir un CD 0 ESPAÑOL Inserte el disco en la ranura de carga. La unidad se enciende, se introduce el CD y se inicia automáticamente su reproducción. Si se introduce el CD boca abajo, aparece EJECT en el visor y el CD será expulsado automáticamente. A A Tiempo de reproducción total del disco insertado Número total de pistas del disco insertado Tiempo de reproducción transcurrido Pista actual Nota sobre la operación de un solo toque: Si pulsa CD cuando hay un CD introducido en la ranura de carga, la unidad se enciende y empieza a reproducir el disco automáticamente. PRECAUCION sobre el ajuste del volumen Los CD producen muy poco ruido al compararse con otras fuentes. Si el nivel de volumen está ajustado al sintonizador por ejemplo, se podrían dañar los altavoces debido a un repentino aumento del nivel de salida. Por consiguiente, baje el volumen antes de reproducir un CD y ajústelo al nivel deseado durante la reproducción. 0 Para interrumpir la reproducción y expulsar el CD Pulse 0. Se interrumpe la reproducción del CD, que será expulsado automáticamente de la ranura de carga. La fuente queda ajustada al sintonizador (se escuchará la última estación recibida). EL CD también dejará de reproducirse si cambia la fuente a FM o AM (esta vez, sin que el CD sea expulsado). Si no saca el disco expulsado en unos 5 segundos, será reinsertado automáticamente en la ranura de carga para protegerlo del polvo. (En este caso no se reproduce el CD.) Podrá expulsar el CD cuando apague la unidad.

37 Cómo encontrar una pista o un punto determinado en un CD Botónes de número Para efectuar la búsqueda progresiva o regresiva de las pistas 4 ESPAÑOL Presione y mantenga pulsado mientras se está reproduciendo el CD para la búsqueda progresiva de las pistas. Presione y mantenga pulsado 4 mientras se está reproduciendo el CD para la búsqueda regresiva de las pistas. Para seleccionar la pista siguiente o anterior Pulse por un tiempo breve mientras se está reproduciendo un CD para saltar al comienzo de la pista siguiente. Cada vez que pulse el botón consecutivamente, se localiza el comienzo de la pista siguiente y se efectúa la reproducción. Pulse 4 por un tiempo breve mientras se está reproduciendo un CD para regresar al comienzo de la pista actual. Cada vez que pulse el botón consecutivamente, se localiza el comienzo de la pista anterior y se efectúa la reproducción. Para seleccionar directamente una determinada pista Pulse el botón de número correspondiente al número de pista que desea reproducir. Para seleccionar un número de pista del 6: Pulse ligeramente (7) 6 (). Para seleccionar un número de pista del 7 : Pulse y mantenga pulsado (7) 6 () durante más de segundo.

38 Cómo seleccionar los modos de reproducción del CD ESPAÑOL RPT/SCAN MO/RND Para reproducir las pistas de forma aleatoria (Reproducción aleatoria) Podrá reproducir todas las pistas del CD de forma aleatoria. Cada vez que pulsa MO/RND (Mono/Aleatoria) mientras se está reproduciendo un CD, el modo de reproducción aleatoria del CD cambiará alternativamente entre activado y desactivado. Cuando esté activado el modo aleatorio, se encenderá el indicador RND en el visor y comenzará a reproducirse la pista seleccionada al azar. Para reproducir las pistas repetidamente (Reproducción repetida) Podrá escuchar la pista actual una y otra vez. Cada vez que pulsa RPT (Repetición) mientras se está reproduciendo un CD, el modo de reproducción repetida cambiará alternativamente entre activado y desactivado. Cuando esté activado del modo de reproducción, se encenderá el indicador RPT en el visor. Número de pista que se está reproduciendo Otras convenientes funciones del reproductor de CD Prohibición de la expulsión del CD Podrá prohibir que el CD sea expulsado y bloquear un CD en la ranura de carga. Pulse y mantenga pulsado CD y 0 durante más de segundos. EJECT destella en el visor durante aproximadamente 5 segundos y el CD queda bloqueado. Para cancelar la prohibición y desbloquear el CD, pulse y mantenga pulsado CD y 0 otra vez durante más de segundos. EJECT aparece en la pantalla, y el CD será expulsado de la ranura de carga.

39 Ajuste del sonido AJUSTES DEL SONIDO Podrá ajustar los sonidos agudos/graves y el equilibrio de los altavoces. Indicador del patrón de ecualización ESPAÑOL Seleccione el ítem que desea ajustar. Nota: Normalmente el dial de control funciona como botones de control de volumen. Por consiguiente no es necesario seleccionar VOL para ajustar el nivel de volumen. 3

40 Activado/desactivado de la función de sonoridad ESPAÑOL A volúmenes bajos, el oído humano es menos sensible a las frecuencias bajas y altas. La función de sonoridad puede reforzar estas frecuencias para producir un sonido bien equilibrado a bajos niveles de volumen. Cada vez que pulsa LOUD, la función de sonoridad se activa/desactiva 4

41 Utilización de la memoria de control de sonido Usted puede seleccionar y almacenar un ajuste de sonido preestablecido para cada fuente de reproducción. (SCM avanzado) Selección y almacenamiento de los modos de sonido Una vez que seleccione un modo de sonido, será almacenado en la memoria y llamado cada vez que seleccione la misma fuente. El modo de sonido se puede almacenar para cada una de las siguientes fuentes: FM, FM, FM3, AM o CD. Si en lugar de almacenar separadamente el modo de sonido para cada fuente de reproducción, desea utilizar un mismo modo de sonido para todas las fuentes, consulte Cancelación de SCM avanzado en la página 7. ESPAÑOL Indicador SCM e indicadores de los modos de sonido Indicador del patrón de ecualización Seleccione el modo de sonido deseado. Cada vez que pulsa el botón, el modo de sonido cambia de la siguiente manera. Cuando SCM LINK está a LINK ON, el modo de sonido seleccionado podrá ser almacenado en la memoria para la fuente actual, y el efecto será aplicado sólo a la fuente actual. Cada vez que cambia la fuente de reproducción, el indicador SCM parpadea en la pantalla. Cuando SCM LINK está ajustado a LINK OFF, el efecto del modo de sonido seleccionado será aplicado a cualquier fuente. 42 Llamada de los modos de sonido ESPAÑOL Cuando SCM LINK está adjustado a LINK ON, seleccione la fuente. Se llama el modo de sonido almacenado en la memoria para la fuente que se ha seleccionado. Indicador de los modos de sonido Notas: Podrá ajustar el sonido preajustado para adaptarlo a su gusto y almacenarlo en la memoria. Si desea ajustar y almacenar su modo de sonido original, consulte Cómo almacenar sus propios ajustes de sonido en la página 8. Para ajustar solamente los niveles de refuerzo de los graves y agudos para adaptarlos a su gusto, consulte Ajuste del sonido en las páginas 3 y 4. (Si selecciona otra fuente, se cancelarán sus ajustes.) 6

43 Cancelación del SCM avanzado Usted puede cancelar el SCM avanzado (memoria de control de sonido) y desenlazar los modos de sonido y las fuentes de reproducción. La unidad se expide de fábrica para que pueda almacenar en la memoria un modo de sonido diferente para cada fuente, de manera que sea posible cambiar los modos de sonido con sólo cambiar las fuentes. LINK ON: SCM avanzado (SCMs diferentes para fuentes diferentes) LINK OFF: SCM convencional (un SCM para todas las fuentes) ESPAÑOL 3, 4 Pulse y mantenga pulsado SEL durante más de segundos. En el visor aparece CLOCK H, CLOCK M, SCM LINK o LEVEL. Seleccione SCM LINK si no está visualizado en el visor. 3 Seleccione el modo deseado LINK ON o LINK OFF. 4 Finalice el ajuste. 7

44 Cómo almacenar sus propios ajustes de sonido Podrá ajustar los modos de sonido (BEAT, SOFT, POP: consulte la página 5) adaptándolos a su gusto y almacenar sus propios ajustes en la memoria. 47 Selección de la indicación de nivel Usted puede seleccionar la indicación de nivel a su gusto. La unidad se expide de fábrica con AUDIO seleccionado. AUDIO : Muestra el indicador de nivel de audio y el indicador del patrón de ecualización. AUDIO : Aparecen alternativamente AUDIO y la indicación de iluminación. OFF: El indicador de nivel de audio y el indicador del patrón de ecualización desaparecen. 48 Desmontaje del panel de control Podrá desmontar el panel de control cuando salga de su automóvil. Al desmontar o instalar el panel de control, preste atención para no dañar los conectores provistos al dorso del panel de control y en el portapanel. ESPAÑOL Cómo desmontar el panel de control Antes de desmontar el panel de control, asegúrese de desconectar la alimentación. Desbloquee el panel de control. Cómo instalar el panel de control Inserte el lado izquierdo del panel de control en la ranura del portapanel. Eleve y extraiga el panel de control de la unidad. Presione el lado derecho del panel de control para fijarlo al portapanel. 3 Ponga el panel de control desmontado en el estuche suministrado. Nota sobre la limpieza de los conectores: Si acostumbra a desmontar frecuentemente el panel de control, se podrán deteriorar los conectores. Para reducir al mínimo esta posibilidad, limpie periódicamente los conectores con un palillo de algodón o con un lienzo humedecido con alcohol teniendo cuidado de no dañar los conectores. Conectores

49 OPERACIONES DEL CONTROL REMOTO Antes de usar la unidad de control remoto: Dirija directamente la unidad de control remoto hacia el sensor de la unidad principal. Asegúrese de que no hay obstáculos en medio. No exponga el sensor del control remoto a fuentes de luz intensas (luz solar directa o iluminación artificial). Instalación de la pila Sensor del control remoto ESPAÑOL Cuando los límites de alcance o la efectividad del mando a distancia se reduce, reemplace la pila. (Lado posterior) ) Pila de litio (Número del producto: CR05) ). Retire el portapila. ) Extráigalo en la dirección indicada por la flecha utilizando un bolígrafo u otra herramienta similar. ) Retire el portapila.. Coloque la pila. Introduzca la pila en el portapila con el lado + dirigido hacia arriba, de manera que quede asegurada dentro del mismo. (Lado posterior) 3. Vuelva a colocar el portapila. Inserte nuevamente el portapila empujándolo hasta escuchar un chasquido. ADVERTENCIA: Guarde las pilas fuera del alcance de los niños. Si llega a ser ingerida, acuda inmediatamente al médico. No recargue, cortocircuite, desarme ni caliente las pilas, ni las arroje al fuego. Cualquiera de estas acciones podrá hacer que la pila desprenda calor, se agriete o provoque un incendio. No mezcle pilas con otros objetos de metal. Si lo hace, las pilas podrían desprender calor, agrietarse o provocar un incendio. Cuando descarte o almacene las pilas, envuélvalas con una cinta y aíslelas. Si no lo hace, pod rian desprender calor, agrietarse o provocar un incendio. No saque la pila con una aguja de metal. Si lo hace, la pila podría desprender calor, agrietarse o provocar un incendio. 3
