3 Second Collection for Building Fund Beginning the weekend of 14/15 January (this weekend) we will take up a second collection for our Building Fund every third weekend of the month. For those who made pledges during the active phase of the parish capital campaign, the blue envelopes labeled Building Fund in the packets mailed to your home may be used for pledge redemption every third Sunday (weekend) of the month. Couples For Christ Couples for Christ is a family life renewal program open to married couples and their families in the Raleigh Diocese. The program seeks to provide the attendees with a renewed understanding of God's call to a renewed Christian life. Sessions are every Saturday from 6:30-8:30 pm at St. Thomas More. Inclement Weather Policy Immaculate Conception Catholic Church The following will be put into effect each time there is an occurrence of inclement weather that makes traveling to and from church grounds hazardous: Weekend and weekday Masses will be celebrated as scheduled. They will not be cancelled. All church meetings, classes and events (including, but not limited to: Faith Formation, RCIA, Parish Council, and other scheduled programs and events) will be cancelled and the office will be closed for the duration of inclement weather. (A general rule: if Sampson County schools are closed due to inclement weather, then so are we!) All staff, paid and volunteer, are not required to travel to church grounds. Note** In the event of inclement weather, common sense is to prevail. All meetings will be canceled. The buildings will be closed with the exception of weekend and weekday Masses. The parish will not assume liability for those who disregard this policy. Even though Masses will not be canceled, in the event that travel to Mass is precarious the Faithful of this parish are dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass. Examples of inclement weather include, but are not limited to: Hurricanes Snow and ice storms Heavy rain Hail Etc. Recortar y salvar! Las misas de fin de semana y entre semana se celebrarán al mismo horario. No se cancelarán. Todas las reuniones, clases (incluyendo clases de catecismo, RICA, Concilio Pastoral y otros programas y eventos) serán cancelados y la oficina será cerrada durante el mal clima. (Una regla general: si las escuelas del condado de Sampson están cerradas por el mal clima, nosotros también!) Todo personal, pagado y voluntario, no se requiere viajar a la iglesia. 5 This month, the parish portion of the Our Cathedral: One Faith, One People campaign begins with 42 parishes and missions taking part in Block 1. The remaining parishes and missions will conduct the campaign in Block 2, from August until December. Every parish will have a Campaign Leadership Committee to organize and conduct the Campaign at the local level. Part of the Committee s responsibility will be to refine the Campaign message to best reflect how the Campaign will serve both the needs of the parish community and the Diocese. Every parishioner of the Diocese will be provided multiple opportunities to participate in the Campaign. First and foremost will be a reception hosted by the local parish, which will provide details of the Cathedral Campaign Facilities project and address parishioner questions. During 2012, the Bishop s Annual Appeal will be incorporated into the Our Cathedral: One Faith, One People campaign. The first funds collected in each parish in the Cathedral Campus Campaign will go to satisfy the Bishop s Annual Appeal goal, to guarantee the ongoing support of the broader mission of the Catholic Church in Eastern North Carolina. The list of Block 1 parishes and the pastoral and social ministry programs supported by the Bishop s Annual Appeal can be found in the January/ February issue of the NC Catholics.

6 Este mes, una parte de la Campaña parroquial Nuestra Catedral: Una Fe, Un Pueblo comienza con 42 parroquias y misiones participando en el Bloque 1. El resto de las parroquias y misiones coordinarán la campaña en el Bloque 2, desde Agosto hasta Diciembre. Cada parroquia establecerá un Comité de Liderazgo para organizar y coordinar la Campaña a nivel local. Una de las responsabilidades del comité es perfeccionar el mensaje de la campaña para reflejar mejor cómo la campaña servirá las necesidades de la parroquia y de la Diócesis. Se le brindará a cada feligrés múltiples oportunidades para participar en la Campaña. En primer lugar habrá una recepción organizada por la parroquia local, que proporcionará detalles sobre el proyecto de las instalaciones de la Campaña de la Catedral y responder las preguntas de los feligreses. Durante el 2012 incorporaremos la Campaña Anual del Obispo a la Campaña Nuestra Catedral: Una Fe, Un Pueblo. Los primeros fondos recaudados en cada parroquia del Campus de la Campaña de la Catedral serán para satisfacer la meta de la Campaña Anual del Obispo, garantizando así el apoyo continuo a la misión de la Iglesia Católica en el Este de Carolina del Norte. En la revista de NC Catholics de de Enero/Febrero aparece la lista de las parroquias incluidas en el Bloque 1. La revista también incluye los programas de los ministerios pastorales y sociales apoyados por la Campaña Anual del Obispo.
