CONCLUSIONES 1 El trasplante hepático es una alternativa terapéutica en los pacientes VIH con una enfermedad hepática terminal Es posible controlar la infección por VIH tras el trasplante con tratamiento antirretroviral. Las interacciones entre los inmunosupresores y los antirretrovirales son importantes y exigen la monitorización estrecha de los niveles plasmáticos de inmunosupresores.
CONCLUSIONES 2 No existe un mayor riesgo de infecciones oportunistas ni de tumores En TOH por una cirrosis por VHC, la recidiva de la infección es universal postrasplante. Los nuevos tratamientos significan un avance enorme y se alcanzan tasas de sobrevida sorprendentes.

El trasplante hepático se realiza cada vez más en pacientes seleccionados con VIH en la mayoría de los países desarrollados, con excelentes resultados informados en pacientes con enfermedades hepáticas no relacionadas con el VHC. Por el contrario, la supervivencia en los receptores hepáticos coinfectados con el VHC / VIH es más pobre que en los pacientes monoinfectados con VHC, debido a la recurrencia más agresiva del VHC y la consecuente pérdida del injerto y la muerte.
