Es la inflamación de las meninges (membranas que cubren el cerebro y la médula espinal), ocasionada por una infección a causa de una bacteria llamada meningococo.¹ ² Por lo general es grave y potencialmente fatal.¹ ² 1. CÓMO SE PUEDE PREVENIR LA ENFERMEDAD? Una forma de protección de la meningitis por meningococo es prevenirla a través de la vacunación.⁵ Así previene el riesgo de contraer la enfermedad y disminuye el riesgo de sufrir las graves secuelas y complicaciones. ⁵ 5.
