This procedure is intended to allow use of LG inverter equipment during low ambient conditions to as low as -40 when this procedure is implemented correctly. This procedure is designed for use by appropriately licensed and certified trade s people under prevailing codes, ordinances, acts and regulations for the jurisdiction that they are in. This procedure has three parts: Part I Installation of Control Adapter Installation of Front Wind Screen Installation of Rear and Side Wind Guards
Part I Installation of PQCA0 Control Adapter Ensure power is off during this procedure. Remove top cover and front panel of the inverter outdoor unit. It is acceptable to hinge the front panel on the right side. Fasten the PQCA0 to the bulkhead inside the compressor compartment above the compressor with the provided self drilling screws as shown in the photograph. Route the two electrical plugs to the inverter control board. Ensure that the wires will not rest on any pipe surface that may cause abrasion of the insulation and shorting at a later time. Locate and remove the TH2(Air) thermistor assembly composed of the ambient thermistor and the pipe thermistor. Insert the male plug of the adapter block from the PQCA0 in the plug on the board. Plug the male TH2 plug into the female plug on top of the adapter from the PACA0 control. Installation of Front Wind Guard The wind is capable of overcoming the fan speed controller on low speed so the wind screen must be installed to prevent the wind from going through the fan motor when the microprocessor has reduced the fan speed. The entering side (back) of the machine is usually protected by a wall that the machine is mounted to. If it is not, please refer to the suggested placements shown at the end.
1. Hold the wind screen over the outlet of the fan. Position to cover the outlet grill and have the holes on the edge of the screen positioned to not go through an internal bulk head or tubing. 2. Drill a pilot hole for the screw with a 1/8 drill bit, and install the supplied screw. Repeat for the additional three remaining mounts. I Installation of Rear and Side Wind Guard Do not substitute screws. If you lose a screw, use the same type and length or damage to coil or piping might occur. Use a wooden block or other similar object to hold bottom to correct height for fastening. Align left side panel with front case and top panel seams. Fasten right side with provided self drilling screws.
Install rear screws of side panel, then remove. Align rear panel. Right screws align with side panel. Fasten with screws. Align left side with top panel seam. Fasten with provided screws.
