Cómo utilizar este manual El manual del administrador del complemento Administración de controladores de SyncThru Admin 5 está diseñado para instalar y configurar el complemento Administración de controladores de SyncThru Admin 5 en un servidor en red y en sistemas cliente. 1.Introducción Este capítulo proporciona una descripción general de las funciones y de los beneficios principales de Administración de controladores de SyncThru Admin 5. Descripción general El complemento Administración de controladores de SyncThru Admin 5 ofrece funciones básicas para la instalación y la configuración remotas de controladores en dispositivos que están conectados a SyncThru Admin 5. Los controladores de las impresoras son los bloques de creación más importantes que se pueden utilizar en el entorno de impresión. Con este complemento, puede administrar fácilmente y en forma remota los controladores de la impresora, y los usuarios no tienen que instalar los controladores de las impresoras solos. Consejos sobre el sistema Inicio y detención del servicio SyncThru Admin 5 SyncThru Admin 5 se inicia automáticamente cada vez que arranca el equipo en que SyncThru Admin 5 está instalado. Si desea iniciar y detener SyncThru Admin 5 en forma manual, siga los pasos que se indican a continuación: Si la base de datos es PostgreSQL, deberá iniciar y detener un servicio adicional (base de datos de SyncThru 5). Para detener SyncThru Admin 5 1. Desde el menú Inicio de Windows, haga clic en Panel de control > Herramientas administrativas > Servicios. 2. 3.Instalación remota Administración de controladores de SyncThru Admin 5 permite instalar controladores en forma remota. Instalación remota Puede instalar los controladores de impresión en forma remota y ajustar la configuración para los dispositivos conectados a SyncThru Admin 5. Instalación Si desea instalar controladores en forma remota, siga los pasos que se indican a continuación: 1. Desde SyncThru Admin 5, haga clic en el menú Administración de controladores > Instalación remota > Lista de dispositivos. 2. Seleccione los dispositivos en los que desea instalar los controladores. 3. Haga clic en el botón, en el panel Seleccionar hosts. Aparecerá la ventana Agregar hosts. 4. Seleccione los hosts en los que desea instalar los controladores y configurar las credenciales de usuario. 5. Haga clic en Aceptar/Aplicar. Los usuarios deben tener derechos de administrador sobre el host remoto para realizar correctamente la instalación remota del controlador. Las credenciales predeterminadas de usuario se administran en el menú Configuración > Administración de controladores > Configuración de host. 6. Los hosts que se hayan agregado aparecerán en el panel Seleccionar hosts. Compruebe la lista. Si desea eliminar hosts, haga clic en el botón. 7. Seleccione los hosts que desee y haga clic en el botón Instalación remota en el panel Seleccionar hosts. Aparecerá la ventana Instalación remota. Instalación remota_ 11
8. Haga clic en Seleccionar controlador para marcar un archivo de controlador. Aparecerá la ventana Archivos de controlador, y podrá ver una lista de los archivos de controlador disponibles. Si desea establecer la configuración predeterminada para el controlador, seleccione el controlador y elija una plantilla de la lista desplegable Plantilla. Puede cargar un controlador nuevo con el botón. 9. Seleccione el controlador que desee instalar y haga clic en Aceptar. Repita este procedimiento en todos los modelos de dispositivos que haya seleccionado. 10. Haga clic en Aceptar. La página Historial de instalación remota se cargará automáticamente, y podrá ver el estado de la instalación. Si desea posponer la instalación, configure Fecha de inicio/hora. Historial de instalación remota SyncThru Admin 5 tiene un historial de funcionamiento de los dispositivos conectados. Tras la instalación remota, es posible que vea los resultados sin moverse de su asiento. La ficha Historial de instalación remota ofrece información detallada del estado de instalaciones remotas anteriores. Además, aquí puede controlar todas las tareas programadas de instalación remota. Si, en la ficha Instalación remota, hace clic en el botón Aceptar (no Aplicar) en el paso final de la instalación remota, será redireccionado automáticamente a Historial de instalación remota. Lista Historial En la lista Historial, podrá ver los historiales acumulados de las instalaciones remotas. La tarea más reciente se ubica en la parte superior de la lista. Puede ver la fecha y el estado de la tarea. Si desea ver la tarea en detalle, haga clic en la tarea específica de la lista. Los detalles aparecerán en la mitad de la pantalla. En la lista Historial, puede realizar lo siguiente: Ver todas las tareas de instalación. Agregar una nueva carpeta para administrar las tareas. Eliminar tareas o carpetas de la lista. Resumen de historial/configuración El panel Resumen de historial/configuración muestra el estado de la configuración en una barra de progreso. En el panel Resumen de historial/configuración, puede realizar lo siguiente: Ver el estado de la tarea de instalación. Instalación remota_ 12
Lista de host Puede ver detalles de la tarea de instalación que seleccione de la lista. Si filtra la lista, puede elegir ver solamente las tareas exitosas o las tareas fallidas. Si desea comprobar la información, haga clic en el botón Detalles. Aparecerá una ventana emergente que le brindará información detallada de los resultados de las entradas. Si se produce un error en la configuración, podrá ver los motivos. En el panel Lista de host, puede realizar lo siguiente: Ver detalles de una tarea. Volver a intentar una tarea específica. 4.Funciones relacionadas SyncThru Admin 5 brinda configuraciones adicionales para la función Administración de controladores. Si instala el complemento Administración de controladores, podrá ver nuevas configuraciones en SyncThru Admin 5. Menú Configuración Podrá ver las configuraciones relacionadas de Administración de controladores. Desde SyncThru Admin 5, haga clic en el menú Configuración. Administración de SyncThru Puede configurar los servidores LDAP desde las funciones relacionadas con LDAP, como Selección de host. Cómo agregar un servidor LDAP 1. Desde SyncThru Admin 5, haga clic en el menú Configuración > Configuración > Administración de SyncThru > Servidores LDAP. 2. Haga clic en el botón, en el panel Servidores LDAP. Administración de controladores Puede administrar los archivos de controlador de SyncThru Admin 5. Archivos de controlador Cómo agregar archivos de controlador 1. Haga clic en el botón, en el panel Archivos de controlador. 3. Cargue el archivo de controlador que desea agregar. Si el archivo de controlador incluye varias instalaciones específicas del sistema operativo, puede consultar la información del sistema operativo antes de cargarlo. Cómo eliminar archivos de controlador 1. Desde SyncThru Admin 5, haga clic en el menú Configuración > Configuración > Administración de controladores > Archivos de controlador. 2. Seleccione los controladores que desea eliminar de SyncThru Admin 5. 3. Haga clic en el botón, en el panel Archivos de controlador. Tras la confirmación, los archivos de controlador que seleccionó se eliminarán. Ajuste de una plantilla preconfigurada 1. Desde SyncThru Admin 5, haga clic en el menú Configuración > Configuración > Administración de controladores > Archivos de controlador. 2. Desde el panel Archivos de controlador, seleccione el controlador del que desea realizar una plantilla preconfigurada. 3. Seleccione Personalizada en la parte derecha de la pantalla. Podrá ver varias opciones que admite el archivo de controlador seleccionado. 4. Ajuste las configuraciones según sus objetivos o las normas de su empresa. Por ejemplo: si desea aplicar una norma para restringir la impresión en color, seleccione el modo de color Escala de grises y, luego, Bloquear modo de color. Funciones relacionadas_ 14
5. Haga clic en Guardar y escriba un nombre para la plantilla. 6. Haga clic en Aceptar. Ahora podrá utilizar esta plantilla para la próxima instalación remota. Cuando selecciona opciones, como Tamaño de papel o Tipo de papel, es posible que aparezca una marca de advertencia o. Esto significa que la opción genera un conflicto con la configuración previa actual debido a la configuración o al entorno del equipo. Un signo de exclamación ( ) significa que puede seleccionar una opción y que la configuración que genera un conflicto se ajustará, pero no es una acción que se recomienda realizar. La marca ( ) significa que no puede seleccionar una opción porque las opciones disponibles dependen de la relación entre las opciones seleccionadas. Configuración de host La configuración de host permite especificar las credenciales predeterminadas de usuario para la instalación remota de controlador. Los usuarios deben tener derechos de administrador sobre los hosts remotos. Estas son las configuraciones predeterminadas: Inicio de sesión : ID de inicio de sesión predeterminado del usuario. Contraseña : Contraseña de inicio de sesión predeterminada del usuario. Ajuste de la configuración de host 1. Desde SyncThru Admin 5, haga clic en el menú Configuración > Configuración > Administración de controladores > Configuración de host. 2. Complete los campos Inicio de sesión y Contraseña. 3. Haga clic en Aplicar para guardar los cambios. O bien haga clic en Cancelar para restablecer la configuración con los valores guardados. Funciones relacionadas_ 15
5.Controladores compatibles Básicamente, el complemento Administración de controladores proporciona dos tipos de funciones: Instalación de controlador Configuración previa de controlador Instalación de controlador Si tiene los archivos de controlador correctos, Administración de controladores de SyncThru Admin 5 puede instalar controladores en forma remota. Configuración previa de controlador Administración de controladores de SyncThru Admin 5 admite solamente controladores específicos de dispositivos Samsung para la configuración previa de controlador. 6.Solución de problemas Esta sección brinda información útil sobre qué hacer en caso de que surjan problemas. Errores comunes No se puede instalar un controlador en un equipo con sistema SyncThru Admin 5. Si no puede instalar un controlador en un equipo remoto, asegúrese de que: ADMIN$ esté compartido en el equipo remoto. La opción Uso compartido simple de archivos esté deshabilitada en el equipo. Las credenciales de acceso estén configuradas como derechos de administrador local.
