1 MINISTERIO DE ASUNTOS EXTERIORES Y COOPERACIÓN CONSULADO GENERAL DE ESPAÑA EN HOUSTON VISADO DE AU PAIR Pueden solicitar el visado en este Consulado General los residentes en: Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missisipi, Nuevo México, Oklahoma, Tennessee y Texas. El Consulado de España en Houston únicamente aceptará solicitudes de visado PERSONALMENTE. Los ciudadanos estadounidenses con pasaporte ordinario con una vigencia mínima de 3 meses, cuya estancia como au pair no supere los 90 días, no necesitan visado. La tramitación del visado de au pair tiene una duración aproximada de 4 semanas a partir de la fecha de entrega de la documentación. La persona que solicite un visado de au pair deberá cursar, como mínimo, 20 horas semanales de clases. DOCUMENTACIÓN A PRESENTAR Este Consulado General tiene potestad legal para solicitar documentación adicional, además de aquellos relacionados a continuación e imprescindibles para comenzar la tramitación del visado. La entrega de los documentos detallados a continuación NO GARANTIZA de manera automática la concesión del visado. No se devolverá la documentación presentada. Se presentarán el ORIGINAL Y UNA COPIA de cada uno de los siguientes documentos: 1. Formulario de solicitud de visado nacional: Los impresos deberán estar debidamente cumplimentados y firmados. 2. Pasaporte original y del documento de identidad ID: El pasaporte debe estar vigente durante, al menos, 6 meses a contar desde la fecha de entrada en España y debe disponer de, al menos, una página de visados en blanco. Su pasaporte permanecerá en el Consulado durante el trámite. Deberá presentar prueba de residencia en alguno de los Estados que pertenecen a la jurisdicción de este Consulado con la copia de alguno de los siguientes documentos: permiso de conducir estadounidense, carné de identidad del estado, registro para votar o carné vigente de estudiante universitario. 3. Dos fotos tamaño pasaporte: Con fondo blanco, de tamaño de 2x2 pulgadas. 4. Carta de admisión original: Carta de admisión como estudiante en España de la universidad, colegio o programa de estudios que incluya: nombre, dirección, teléfono, fax, número de registro de la institución en el Ministerio de Educación y Cultura; pago total de tasas de estudio; duración del programa (fechas de inicio y final); asignaturas que se cursarán; horas de estudio a la semana (20 horas, mínimo). 5. Contrato o acuerdo firmado por la familia y el/la au pair. Deberá estar debidamente notariado y en él deberán constar las obligaciones del/la au pair, la duración del acuerdo de colocación, el horario y el sueldo que percibirá, de acuerdo con el mínimo estipulado en el Acuerdo europeo sobre la colocación au pair. *Al final de este documento podrá encontrar una copia del contrato tipo aprobado por el Comité de Ministros del Consejo de Europa. 6. Seguro médico con cobertura internacional en la que indique que usted está cubierto con un mínimo (o su equivalente en USD) por el 100%, sin deducible ni copagos en gasto de emergencias médicas y repatriación. La familia deberá proveer el seguro al/a la au pair.

2 7. Certificado de antecedentes penales cuando se trate de ESTANCIAS SUPERIORES A 180 DÍAS verificado por huellas dactilares. La validez del certificado es de 3 meses a partir de la fecha de expedición. El certificado puede ser expedido por: a) El Departamento de Justicia Estatal (de todos los estados en el que haya residido durante los últimos 5 años) y tiene que estar legalizado con la Apostilla de La Haya por la Secretaría de Estado de dicho Estado. b) El Departamento de Justicia de los EE.UU. FBI Oficina Federal de Investigación y debe estar legalizado con la Apostilla de La Haya por el Departamento de Estado en Washington D.C. Se requieren, además, certificados de antecedentes penales de los países en los que se haya residido durante los últimos 5 años, legalizados con la Apostilla de La Haya y traducidos. 8. Certificado médico ORIGINAL cuando se trate de ESTANCIAS SUPERIORES A 180 DÍAS. Debe ser reciente (expedido en los últimos 3 meses) e incluir membrete y firma original de un doctor (M.D. o D.O.) con el siguiente texto: Este certificado médico acredita que el Sr./Sra. no padece ninguna de las enfermedades que pueden tener repercusiones de salud pública graves de conformidad con lo dispuesto en el Reglamento Sanitario Internacional del Los pasaportes pueden devolverse por correo bajo la responsabilidad del solicitante, que puede traer un sobre prepagado con su dirección. Para los residentes en Houston, es necesario que recojan el visado en persona. 10. Para solicitantes que no tengan residencia permanente en Estados Unidos: Prueba de estatus migratorio en los EE.UU.: Debe presentar prueba de su estatus migratorio; por ejemplo, US Alien Registration Card o un visado de residencia valido. Los solicitantes con visados F1 deberán aportar los impresos I 20 (original + 1 copia). Itinerario/copia impresa del viaje de ida y vuelta. Reserva de vuelo. SE PODRÁ REQUERIR DOCUMENTACIÓN ADICIONAL A LA ANTERIORMENTE CITADA. Le recomendamos que no compre su billete hasta que el visado haya sido aprobado. TASAS DE VISADO Consulte el documento Tasas de visados. La tasa será la misma que la tasa del visado de estudiante. Sólo se acepta dinero en efectivo o money order. Las tasas de tramitación de visado no son reembolsables en caso de que se cancele o deniegue el visado. MUY IMPORTANTE Si la duración de su programa es superior a 180 días, en primer lugar, deberá obtener el visado. A lo largo del primer mes, deberá solicitar en la comisaría de Policía Local la Tarjeta de Estudiante Residente (NIE) para ampliar su estancia hasta el fin de sus estudios La duración autorizada de la estancia queda reflejada en el visado ( del al ). Nevertheless, exceptions to the upper age limit may be granted by the competent authority of the receiving country in individual cases when justified. 2 If the place of residence differs from the place Of permanent residence, please state both addresses.

4 I. GENERAL CONDITIONS The au pair shall be received by the host family for a period of... months/unspecified period 1 3 (delete whichever does not apply) under the conditions laid down hereinafter. The agreement shall take effect from... 4 II. DUTIES OF THE HOST II. 1. The host shall provide board and lodging for the au pair and shall place at her/his disposal a separate suitable room/a suitable room shared with... (delete whichever does not apply) 5 3 According to Article 3 of the European Agreement on Au Pair Placement, the initial period shall net exceed one year but may be extended to permit of a maximum stay of two years. Where the agreement has been concluded for an unspecified period, either party shall be entitled to terminate it by giving two weeks' notice. 4 According to Article 6 of the European Agreement on Au Pair Placement, the present agreement should be concluded preferably before the person au pair leaves the country in which she/he was resident and at latest during the first week of the placement. 5 According to Article 8, paragraph 1, of the European Agreement on Au Pair Placement, the au pair shall, where possible, occupy a separate room.

5 II. 3. In addition, the host shall pay the au pair pocket money amounting to... weekly. II. 4. The au pair's hours of duty shall be organised in such a way as,to allow her/him to fallow courses, and to improve her/his general cultural development and knowledge of the language. II. 5. In the event of the au pair's falling ill, the host shall continue to provide board and lodging and shall give all appropriate care until such time as necessary arrangements have been made. III. DUTIES OF THE AU PAIR III. 1. The au pair agrees to comply with any formality necessary on her/his part to enable the host to fulfil her/his obligations under paragraph II 6 of this agreement. 6 According to Article 8, paragraph 3, of the European Agreement on Au Pair Placement, the au. pair shall have at least one full free day pet week, not less than one such free day in every month being a Sunday. 7 The Protocol to the European Agreement provides that in the event of sickness, maternity, and accident benefits shall cover, as far as possible, the cost of medical treatment, pharmacy and hospital care. 8 The possibility of making the au pair responsible for half the insurance premiums can only exist where a Contracting Party has made a reservation on this point at the time of ratification of the European Agreement on Au Pair Placement. 9 According to Article 9 of the European Agreement on Au Pair Placement, the time effectively occupied in such services shall generally net be more that five hours per day.

6 III. 3. The au pair agrees to furnish without delay the medical certificate provided for in Article 5 of the European Agreement on Au Pair Placement 10. IV. MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS IV. 1. If the agreement has been concluded for an unspecified period, it may be terminated by either party with two weeks' notice. Regardless of whether the period concerned is specified or not in the event of serious misconduct by one of the parties, the other party may immediately terminate the agreement. Either of the parties may also terminate the agreement with immediate effect if serious circumstances make such instant termination necessary. IV. 2. The parties also agree on the following...
