I am delighted to welcome you and your child to Pre-Kindergarten. I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning and fun with each student. I believe that a positive educational experience requires a partnership between the parents and the teacher. You are more than welcome to call me anytime if you have questions or concerns about your child. If you would like to meet with me, I would be more than glad to set a time to meet with you about your concerns. Below is some information regarding classroom rules, folders and forms that will be coming home with your child. Classroom rules: We walk We listen We share We take care of each other We take care of our school

2 Positive Reinforcements: Students will have an opportunity to receive a reward for good behavior throughout the day. The reward will vary from day to day. Daily rewards will consist of prizes, positive notes home, positive phone calls, positive reinforcement, stickers, and compliments. You will see a (green happy face) on folder if your child has made good choices throughout the day. Here are the following consequences if your child is having difficulties. Discipline System: Consequence #1 Consequence #2 YELLOW Consequence #3 RED The student will receive 2 verbal warnings. (Might be skipped depending on behavior) After 2 nd warning, the child will be sent to the thinking spot, so they can think about the choice that was made and what would be a better choice for next time. Once student comes up with what they could have done differently they will explain to teacher and resume class. When thinking spot does not work, a note will be sent home to parents informing them about child s behavior. If child s behavior gets out of hand, we will get in contact with office. Discipline Folders: A calendar will be placed in your child s discipline folder. This calendar will reflect his/her behavior each day. The color of the happy/ straight / sad face will indicate what color he/she received for that day. If the child is not on green, there will be a reason written in the current day s square to explain the color change. A code of the meaning of the numbers are located on the bottom of the calendar. It is imperative that your child bring this folder to school every day! This is a way for us to communicate. Please initial the monthly calendar each night, so that I will know you are aware of the working habits and behavior of your child at school. It is my goal to make this a successful year for each student. I am looking forward to working closely with you throughout the year. Les quiero dar la cordial bienvenida a usted y a su hijo/a. Estoy convencida que el éxito de los estudiantes se debe en gran parte a la comunicacion entre el maestro y ustedes padres de familia. 4 Premios por Buena conducta: Los estudiantes tendran la oportunidad de recibir premios y elogios por buen comportamiento durante el dia. Estos consistirán en obsequios de la cajita del tesoro, notas de halagos o llamadas telefonicas, calcomanias, afirmaciones, y cumplidos. Sistema de Disciplina: 1er. consecuencia 2da. consecuencia Carita AMARILLA 3er. consecuencia Carita ROJA Folder de Disciplina: El estudiante recibirá dos advertencias. Dependiendo del comportamiento, podra seguir con un buen día o seguir a la siguiente consecuencia. Despues de la segunda advertencia, el estudiante estara en un lugar designado para que piense en las decisiones que esta tomando y cuales serían las mejores decisiones a tomar. Si despues de pensar en sus acciones, su comportamiento sigue inapropiado, se marcará su folder con una carita roja y se le avisará a los padres. Ultima instancia sería la oficina. Es muy importante que trabajemos juntos por el bien de su hijo/a, por lo cual le agradezco que revise su carpeta o folder diariamente ya que esa es la forma que tendremos para comunicarnos y enterarlo de la conducta de su hijo y eventos que pueda haber en la escuela. Todos los días empiezan en el carita verde, que está feliz, si se portan bien ahí se quedan. Si no siguen las reglas les voy a poner una carita amarilla o roja depende en el comportamiento de su hijo/a. En el calendario esta una lista que explica cual regla no siguió. Formas del manual: Por favor de leer las formas del manual y firmarlas. Las formas que tienen que firmar están en este paquete. Por favor manden las formas de regreso mañana.
