4 OPERACIÓN Preparación de la unidad Primero, Instale la perilla en dirección de las agujas del reloj. Luego, cierre la zona elástica y la tapa. Segundo, cierre la tapa con las manijas. Cierre la tapa asegurándola; la zona elástica debe ajustarse en la misma línea. Tercero, instale la perilla en la dirección de las manijas del reloj. Suba la zona elástica hasta que las manijas se toquen. Asegúrese que no quede nada suelto. Ajuste la tapa con la olla girando la perilla una o dos veces. C18-20 con una vuelta mas; C22-C24 una vuelta y media aproximadamente; C26-C28 dos vueltas (Una vuelta equivale a 360º). Cuando cocine, si esta saliendo vapor por los bordes de la tapa, retire el vapor completamente de la olla y reinstale la perilla en dirección de las agujas del reloj. Luego, ajuste la tapa fuertemente para asegurar que el valor no se salga. (Fig 1) Instalar la válvula de presión Coloque la válvula en la base de la válvula vertical. (Fig 2) Fig 1 Fig 2 Reducir la presión y abrir la válvula Cuidadosamente, remueva la válvula de presión para permitir que el vapor salga gradualmente. Retire la tapa cuando la zona elástica haya bajado completamente. (Fig 3B) Fig 3A Fig 3B P-3

5 PRECAUCIÓN Y MANTENIMIENTO Si al cocinar, el vapor se sale de la válvula de presión, reduzca el fuego de la estufa un poco. Tenga presente no exceder el volumen máximo permitido por la olla a presión, ya que los alimentos por lo general se expanden. Para cocinar arroz no exceda un tercio de su capacidad. Para carne o pescado, por lo general solo es usada la cuarta parte de su capacidad total. La presión de cocción es de 80Kpa. Use siempre la válvula. La perilla y manijas han sido lubricadas desde la fabrica. Puede limpiarlas con agua y jabón. Lave la olla si esta no ha sido usada por un periodo de tiempo prolongado. SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS Esta lista esta hecha para solucionar problemas comunes que se pueden presentar durante el uso de la unidad. Revise estos puntos antes de buscar ayuda de un técnico calificado. Problema El vapor se sale del borde de la tapa Posible causa y solución Verifique que la tapa fue bien instalada Si la válvula esta sucia, límpiela Hay partículas solidas en la goma El sello de goma esta roto, este debe ser reemplazado La presión es muy alta, reduzca el fuego La válvula no funciona No hay agua suficiente en la olla La presión es muy baja, aumente el fuego La base de la válvula esta sucia, límpiela La tapa no abre La olla se ha enfriado, presión negativa en el interior. Levante la válvula y permita que entre aire TABLA DE COCCIÓN Nota: El tiempo de cocción es calculado cuando hay suficiente presión y hay vapor saliendo de la válvula. En ese momento puede reducir el fuego y tendrá la misma presión de cocción. Esta lista solo es para referencia. P-4

10 OPERATION 1. COOKER PREPARATION 1. Install the knob clockwise. Close the elastic zone and the lid. 2. Put the lid between the handles. Close tightly the cooker with the lid; the elastic zone must adjust in the same line. 3. Install the knob clockwise. For the elastic zone, move it up until the handles touch together. Ensure it is tight. Also adjust the lid to the cooker turning the knob one or two turns. When you cook, you will see that some air vapor goes out from the bottom of the lid. You must empty the entire air from the cooker only when you put the knob clockwise. Then you must fit the lid tightly to ensure no more vapor goes out from the cooker. See Picture INSTALL THE VALVE OF LIMITED PRESSURE Put the valve on the base of the vertical valve. See Picture 2. P-3

11 3. REDUCE PRESSURE AND OPEN THE LID Carefully, remove the pressure valve allowing the vapor to go out gradually. This is the way of reducing inner pressure. See Picture 3A. Another way to release the vapor is removing the knob gradually. Remove the lid with the elastic zone has lowered completely. See Picture 3B. CAUTION AND MAINTENANCE When you cook, if you vapor is going out from the pressure valve, please reduce the fire of the oven. Have in mind not to exceed the maximum volume allowed for the pressure cooker because some foods expand. For rice don t use more than one third of its capacity. For meat or fish, usually it is used no more than three fourths of its total capacity. Cooking pressure is 80Kpa. You must always use the pressure valve. The knob and handles have lubrication from factory. You can clean them with soap and water. Clean the pressure cooker after not using it for a long period. P-4

12 TROUBLESHOOTING This list is made to help you solve common problems that may occur in the use of the unit. Check these points before asking for help to authorized technical service personnel. PROBLEM CAUSE AND SOLUTION Vapor goes out from the bottom edge of the lid Check proper installation between lid and edge. The base valve is dirty; check and clean. There are solid particles in the rubber gasket; check and clean. The rubber gasket is broken; replace. Pressure is too high; reduce fire. The valve doesn t work There is not enough water in the cooker to vaporize; pour some more water. Pressure is too low; increase fire. Base valve is dirty; check and clean. The lid doesn t open The cooker is cold, negative pressure inside; raise the valve to allow some air in. NOTE Cooking time is calculated when there is enough pressure and you some vapor going out from the valve. At that point you can reduce fire, and you will have the same cooking pressure.
