Do not write on blank pages. In Section B you must write on every line: do not leave a blank line between each line of your answer. Do all rough work in this book. Cross through any work you do not want to be marked. INFORMATION The marks for questions are shown in brackets. The maximum mark for this paper is 110. You must NOT use a dictionary. You should note that the quality of your written language in both Spanish and English will be taken into account when awarding marks. If you need extra paper, use the Additional Answer Sheets. 16 16 5 Un producto con muchos beneficios Lee esta noticia sobre la quinoa y contesta a las preguntas EN ESPAÑOL. Los cocineros internacionales han descubierto la quinoa, un cereal andino, y ahora vemos como muchos restaurantes la usan en sus platos. Entre los muchos atractivos de este cereal están su alto contenido en omega 3 y bajo nivel calorífico, pero las propiedades fundamentales son que la quinoa protege el sistema cardiovascular y evita la hipertensión. Para los que no comen carne es un producto ideal porque contiene proteínas esenciales que necesitan para tener una dieta equilibrada. El hecho de que la quinoa también provee minerales la hace popular entre los deportistas y muchos la consumen con frecuencia. (16)

17 17 En la actualidad, esta planta solo se puede adquirir en tiendas especializadas, ya que está considerada un producto gourmet y por eso tiene un alto coste a la hora de importarla. 24 24 7 Los móviles Lee estas entrevistas con cuatro españoles que hablan de los móviles. Luego, lee los resúmenes de sus opiniones. El instituto Antonio Machado en Marbella ha decidido prohibir durante un día todos los móviles. Una locura? Estas son las opiniones: MARINA Las normas del instituto dicen que los móviles deben estar desconectados dentro del edificio, pero creo que siempre existe la posibilidad de llamar en el patio a escondidas. Pero un día entero sin móvil para mi hija es el fin del mundo. No creo que mi hija y sus compañeros tengan la intención de llevar un móvil al centro, apagarlo y dejarlo en la mochila todo el día sin usarlo. (24)

25 25 TOMÁS En nuestro instituto, creemos que hay una adicción cada vez más fuerte a los móviles. Los alumnos no se dan cuenta de lo perjudicial que pueden ser. Así que decidimos educar a los estudiantes sobre las consecuencias negativas de estar constantemente expuesto a ellos. Están todos a favor de la iniciativa y algunos han hecho carteles con el lema: Deja tu móvil en casa! ALICIA Yo puedo vivir muy bien sin mi celular, pero para la mayoría de los adolescentes sería insoportable. Los jóvenes aceptan que hay riesgos al usar tanto el móvil pero no sé si saben toda la verdad. El celular es práctico si ocurre algo inesperado y pienso que es importante saber donde se encuentra tu hijo en caso de que surjan problemas. Además, pienso que es importante que los jóvenes participen en todo lo que ofrece el centro. ROBERTO Debemos enseñar a los estudiantes que podemos vivir un día (o quizás más) sin los móviles. Éste es el primer año que tenemos esta iniciativa y si tiene éxito será parte de la cultura del instituto el próximo trimestre. Los profesores están todos de acuerdo con que la prohibición del móvil ayudará en el rendimiento escolar. La verdad es que la idea debería ser permanente. [Turn over] (25)

Actualmente, podemos describir la publicidad como una forma de comunicación muy común que se utiliza para promocionar y vender un determinado tipo de producto. La publicidad es un fenómeno constantemente presente en nuestras vidas que surgió hace más de un siglo y que se desarrolló rápidamente. Desde entonces, ha habido muchos anuncios que se han convertido en obras maestras. (28)

Sin embargo, a pesar de lo que se paga, Jim Swallow, director de una compañía publicitaria internacional, comenta que a nadie se le obliga a pagar estos precios.
