9 NORCECA Group C Qualifier is ready to get underway PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad & Tobago, October 12, The battle for two vacancies to the 2018 FIVB Women s World Championship in Japan is ready to get underway at the NORCECA Group C Qualifier to be held at the National Cycling Centre in Trinidad & Tobago. The head coaches of the four teams here in Port of Spain remain confident of their previous hard work with their respective teams and gave their first interviews on the eve of the three day competition. Cesar Salas, Head Coach of Costa Rica: This is my first time coaching a women s national team; I am contributing with my Federation in this new phase. The group has been practicing for that past two months and we are adjusting, we are missing some of the players but we are ready to compete. Our objective is to win one of the vacancies, battling strong against Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago; if we do so, this will be our third FIVB World Championship. This tournament comes as part of our preparation for the Central American Games to be held in Managua in December. Albert Loblack, Head Coach of Dominica: After the natural disaster caused by Hurricane Maria in our island, the players are coming with high spirits; the ladies are eager to play and get experience. We can match up all the weeks and months of practices and see where we are standing. Ricardo Naranjo, Head Coach of Mexico: The team is highly motivated, Samantha is an important addition to our team and maybe we can win the competition, but our main goal is to qualify to the world championship. We took good advantage of training for a relatively long period back in Monterrey. Francisco Cruz, Head Coach of Trinidad and Tobago: This year has been a very competitive one for us, with important international tournaments and the team is well prepared for this intense competition. I consider a strong possibility to qualify to the world championship, our hopes our high and we have faith in our players, I really expect things to go well.

10 Clasificatorio Grupo C está listo para iniciar PUERTO ESPAÑA, Trinidad y Tobago, 12 de octubre de La batalla por dos vacantes al Campeonato Mundial 2018 Femenino de la FIVB en Japón está lista para iniciar en el Clasificatorio NORCECA Grupo C a celebrarse en el National Cycling Centre de Trinidad y Tobago. Los entrenadores de los cuatro equipos acá en Puerto España, tienen la confianza de su preparación previa al evento y dieron su primera entrevista el día antes que inicien los tres días de competencia. Cesar Salas, Entrenador de Costa Rica: Es la primera vez que dirijo una selección nacional de mujeres; estoy apoyando a la Federación de mi país. El grupo tiene dos meses de preparación continua y nos estamos acomodando, hay jugadoras que faltan pero el equipo está listo para competir. La idea es buscar uno de los cupos al mundial, dando la lucha a México y a Trinidad y Tobago; de lograrlo sería nuestro tercer Campeonato Mundial FIVB. Además este es parte de nuestro proceso de preparación para los Juegos Centroamericanos de Managua en diciembre. Albert Loblack, Entrenador de Dominica: Después del desastre natural ocasionado por el Huracán Maria a nuestra isla, las jugadoras vienen con el espíritu en alto; las chicas están con el deseo de jugar y ganar experiencia. Podremos ver el resultado durante la competencia, luego de las muchas semanas y meses de entrenamiento. Ricardo Naranjo, Entrenador de México: El equipo viene muy motivado, es importante la adición de Samantha al equipo y existe esperanza de talvez ganar la competencia, aunque el objetivo fundamental es la clasificación. Estuvimos en Monterrey en un campamento de entrenamiento y se aprovechó en un cien por ciento. Francisco Cruz, Entrenador de Trinidad y Tobago: Hemos tenido un año de alto nivel competitivo y el equipo está bien preparado para un torneo intenso. Considero que tenemos una gran posibilidad de obtener nuestra primera clasificación a un mundial, hay muchas esperanzas en este grupo de jugadoras, tenemos fe en ellas y esperamos que las cosas se nos den.
