11 Belize ready to medal at 20th Central American women s volleyball championship Belize City, August 3, 2018 The Belize senior women s volleyball team has high hopes of medalling at 20th Central American women s volleyball championships on their home court at the Civic Center in Belize City. Belize s Cuban coach Esmidio Limonta Muñoz expressed every confidence that his team would be in the top three, He said we have spent the past four months in constant preparation for this tournament, we have played seven international matches and 41 matches within Belize, to prepare the team well. This team has been advancing from last place within Central America, and from my many years of experience I know that to achieve an overnight success of moving from seventh place to first is difficult. I don t say it is impossible, it is possible. But I would be more than satisfied if we were to finish among the top three. Costa Rica confident of defending their title in Central American women s volleyball Belize City, August 3, 2018 Costa Rica s senior women s volleyball team is confident of defending their title at the 20 th Central American women s volleyball championships, in Belize City. Costa Rica s coach René Iván Quintana Pereira said: The Central American championship is an event where Costa Rica should star, as we have been preparing for several weeks in the Dominican Republic and in Barranquilla, Colombia. We come to demonstrate our team s marked improvement, solidly based on the preparation we have had; though we are a new and young team, with a few experienced girls. We will strive for a balance to have a very competitive tournament, where we can fight well and competitively for the Central American title, which we have come to validate. We have achieved a transition over the last few months, and we believe we have arrived ready to defend our title. El Salvador s positive outlook for 20th Central American women s volleyball championship Belize City, August 3, 2018 El Salvador s senior women s volleyball team will test their mettle against the best of Central America, with hopes of being amongst the top three at the 20 th women s volleyball championships.

12 El Salvador s coach Noé Isaac Fabián Aguilar said they always expect a very strong competition against all of Central America, based on the changes seen at the most recent Central American Games, where all the countries competed fiercely; all teams in the region are pretty much on the same level. There s no longer any great difference among the teams who used to dominate, and now we are all even-stevens. Our team has been preparing for the past year for this tournament, making an almost generational renewal. We have brought a team of mostly very young players, reinforced with a couple of older players to lend their experience to the young ones. We hope to be among the top teams, but it s a work in progress. Guatemala ready win 20th Central American women s volleyball championship Belize City, August 3, 2018 Guatemala s senior women s volleyball team intends to be in the top three at 20th Central American women s volleyball championships. Guatemala s Cuban coach William Fernández Pizot said their objective is to be among the top three. All the teams have been refreshed, they re all young teams, envisioning the new Olympic Games cycle. The teams are very evenly matched, meaning that all teams are conditioned to take the title. We will approach each match, as if it were the championship final. His assistant Davíd Aldana Pérez noted that: The team is based on previous training programs, composed of very young girls who of necessity are integrated into a corps of more senior players. Despite their youth, they are tenacious players who are doing their best to star for their country. Nicaragua hopes to unseat Costa Rica at 20th Central American women s volleyball championship Belize City, August 3, 2018 Nicaragua s senior women s volleyball team is in Belize for the 20 th Central American women s volleyball championships, where they hope to finally unseat the reigning champions Costa Rica. Nicaragua s coach Rene Ivan Quintana Pereira said: There s always a team who are regarded as the favourites, in this case Costa Rica, who have been the champions for a number of years. Of course, the other countries efforts, their goal is to unseat them! In my opinion, all the teams come ready to do battle, and despite the domestic political situation in Nicaragua, our team is prepared to give their maximum effort. We are all happy to be here in Belize, a senior team at a major tournament, and we hope to give the Belizean fans their money s worth at game time.

13 Belice aspira subir al podio en el 20to Campeonato Centro Americano de voleibol femenil Ciudad Belice, August 3, 2018 El equipo Beliceño femenil de voleibol tiene grandes esperanzas de ganar una medalla en el 20to Campeonato Centro Americano de voleibol femenil, jugando en casa en el Centro Cívico en Ciudad Belice. El entrenador de Belice, el cubano Esmidio Limonta Muñoz expresó toda confianza que su equipo está preparado para ganar entre los primeros tres lugares. Dijo la preparación del equipo ha sido bastante aceptable. Hemos trabajado durante cuatro meses seguidos, hemos jugado siete partidos internacionales, y hemos logrado jugar 41 partidos internos aquí. Así que se ha logrado preparar bastante bien al equipo. Aspiramos obtener entre los tres primeros lugar. Este equipo viene siendo el último lugar en Centro América. Tengo muchos años de experiencia, y yo sé que de noche a día, no se puede lograr base tan importante, pasar de séptimo lugar a primer lugar es muy difícil. No es imposible, no digo que no se puede lograr, es posible. Mi aspiración es estar entre los tres primeros, con eso ya creo que es más que suficiente. Costa Rica confía defender su título en los 20to Campeonato Centro Americano de voleibol femenil Ciudad Belice, August 3, 2018 Costa Rica viene preparado a defender su título en esta nueva edición del Campeonato Centro Americano de voleibol femenil, en Ciudad Belice. El entrenador costarricense, Cesar Salas Salazar afirmó que: la Copa Centro Americana es un evento donde un país como Costa Rica debe ser protagonista. Es evento donde nos hemos preparado por varias semanas en la República Dominicana, y en Barranquilla. Venimos a ser sólidos en toda la preparación que hemos tenido, y mostrarle la mejoría que ha logrado el grupo, que es un grupo joven y nuevo, con unas muchachas de experiencia. Queremos lograr un equilibro para tener un torneo muy competitivo, donde podamos pelear bien y en una forma competitiva, el título de Centro América, y que Costa Rica nos llega validar. Hemos logrado una transición en los últimos meses, y creemos que llegamos en un buen momento para competir por el título. El Salvador se mide contra Centro América en el 20to Campeonato de voleibol femenil Ciudad Belice, August 3, 2018 El cuadro cuzcatleco de voleibol femenil se medirá contra toda Centro América, a propósito de estar entre los primeros tres en el 20to Campeonato de voleibol, en Ciudad Belice.

14 El entrenador de El Salvador, Noé Isaac Fabián Aguilar expresó que: siempre esperamos una competencia muy fuerte contra todos los países de Centro América, tomando la diferencia en los últimos Juegos Centro Americanos, donde todos los países compitieron muy fuerte, y ya se está dando un nivel muy parejo en todo Centro América. Ya no hay una gran diferencia entre los países que antes dominaban, y ahora todos se están poniendo al mismo nivel. Nos hemos preparado en todo el año por esta competencia, hacienda casi un cambio generacional de nuestro equipo. Ahora trayendo por la mayoría una base juvenil, solo reforzado con un par de mayores para dar la experiencia a los jóvenes. Esperamos estar entre los primeros, pero esforzando vamos a ver lo que vamos a hacer. Guatemala aspira ganar entre los primeros 3 en el 20to Campeonato Centro Americano de voleibol femenil Ciudad Belice, August 3, 2018 El equipo chapín femenil de voleibol viene preparado a destacar en el 20to Campeonato Centro Americano de voleibol femenil en Ciudad Belice. El entrenador de Guatemala, el cubano William Fernández Pizat indicó que su objetivo era de estar entre los primeros tres lugares. Todos los equipos se han renovado, son equipos jóvenes, pensando en el nuevo ciclo olímpico. Los equipos están muy parejos, es decir que todos los equipos están en condición a alcanzar el título. Vamos a enfrentar a cada partido como si fuera el final. Su asistente guatemalteco David Aldana Pérez agregó que: el base del equipo es una base de procesos anteriores, de muchachas muy jóvenes, que se van integrando debido a la veteranía de jugadoras anteriores. A pesar de que son jóvenes, son jugadoras luchadoras que se están esmerando para destacar por su país. Nicaragua busca desmontar a Costa Rica en 20to Campeonato Centro Americano de voleibol femenil Ciudad Belice, August 3, 2018 Las pinoleras buscan desmontar las campeonas ticas en el 20to Campeonato Centro Americano de voleibol femenil, en Ciudad Belice. El entrenador de Nicaragua, Rene Iván Quintana Pereira expresó que: siempre hay un equipo favorito, que es Costa Rica, que ha sido el campeón en los últimos años. La lucha por los otros países es de quitarle ese puesto. Creo que todos los países vienen listos para dar la pelea, y a pesar de la situación política en Nicaragua, nuestro equipo viene preparado a dar su mejor esfuerzo. Estamos felices de que por primera vez esta un equipo mayor en Belice, y vamos a buscar no defraudar al pueblo beliceño a la hora de jugar.
