3 LITURGY OF THE WORD READING 1 NM 11:25-29 The LORD came down in the cloud and spoke to Moses. Taking some of the spirit that was on Moses, the LORD bestowed it on the seventy elders; and as the spirit came to rest on them, they prophesied. Now two men, one named Eldad and the other Medad, were not in the gathering but had been left in the camp. They too had been on the list, but had not gone out to the tent; yet the spirit came to rest on them also, and they prophesied in the camp. So, when a young man quickly told Moses, "Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp, " Joshua, son of Nun, who from his youth had been Moses aide, said, "Moses, my lord, stop them." But Moses answered him, "Are you jealous for my sake? Would that all the people of the LORD were prophets! Would that the LORD might bestow his spirit on them all!" PSALM PS 19:8, 10, 12-13, 14 R. The precepts of the Lord give joy to the heart. The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul; the decree of the LORD is trustworthy, giving wisdom to the simple. R. The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the LORD are true, all of them just. R. Though your servant is careful of them, very diligent in keeping them, Yet who can detect failings? Cleanse me from my unknown faults! R. From wanton sin especially, restrain your servant; let it not rule over me. Then shall I be blameless and innocent of serious sin. R. LITURGIA DE LA PALABRA 1A LECTURA NUM 11, En aquellos días, el Señor descendió de la nube y habló con Moisés. Tomó del espíritu que reposaba sobre Moisés y se lo dio a los setenta ancianos. Cuando el espíritu se posó sobre ellos, se pusieron a profetizar. Se habían quedado en el campamento dos hombres: uno llamado Eldad y otro, Medad. También sobre ellos se posó el espíritu, pues aunque no habían ido a la reunión, eran de los elegidos y ambos comenzaron a profetizar en el campamento. Un muchacho corrió a contarle a Moisés que Eldad y Medad estaban profetizando en el campamento. Entonces Josué, hijo de Nun, que desde muy joven era ayudante de Moisés, le dijo: Señor mío, prohíbeselo. Pero Moisés le respondió: Crees que voy a ponerme celoso? Ojalá que todo el pueblo de Dios fuera profeta y descendiera sobre todos ellos el espíritu del Señor. DEL SALMO 18: R. Los mandamientos del Señor alegran el corazón. La ley del Señor es perfecta de todo y reconforta el alma; inmutables son las palabras del Señor y hacen sabio al sencillo. R. La voluntad de Dios es santa y para siempre estable; los mandamientos del Señor son verdaderos y enteramente justos. R. Aunque tu servidor es esmera En cumplir tus preceptos con cuidado, quién no falta, Señor, sin advertirlo? Perdona mis errores ignorados. R. PAGPAPAHAYAG NG SALITA NG DIYOS UNANG PAGBASA (BLG 11:25-29) Pagbasa mula sa aklat ng mga Bilang NOONG mga araw na iyon, ang Panginoon ay bumaba sa anyo ng ulap at kinausap nga si Moises. Ang pitumpung matatanda ay binahaginan niya ng espiritu, tulad ng ibinigay niya kay Moises. Sila y napuspos ng kapangyarihan at nagpahayag noon ngunit hindi na nila inulit. May naiwang dalawang matandang lalaki sa kampamento: Eldad ang pangalan ng isa at yaong isa y Medad. Tinawag silang kasama ng pitumpu ngunit hindi sumama. Gayunman, binahaginan din sila ng espiritu ng Panginoon kaya sila y nagpahayag na roon. Nakita pala sila ng isang binata at patakbo itong nagpunta kay Moises. Sinabi niya, Sina Eldad at Medad ay nagpapahayag sa kampo. Dahil dito, sinabi ni Josue na anak ni Nun at katulong ni Moises, Bakit di ninyo sila sawayin? Ngunit sinabi ni Moises, Nangangamba ka bang ako y mababawasan ng karangalan? Mas gusto ko ngang maging propeta ang lahat ng Israelita at mapuspos ng espiritu ng Panginoon. Ang Salita ng Diyos. Ang batas ng Panginoon ay batas na walang kulang, / ito y utos na ang dulot sa tao ay bagong buhay; / yaong kanyang mga batas ay mapagtitiwalaan, / nagbibigay ng talino sa pahat ang kaisipan. (T) Yaong paggalang sa Poon ay marapat at mabuti, / isang banal na tungkulin na iiral na parati; / pati mga hatol niya y matuwid na kahatulan, / kapag siya ang humatol, ang pasya ay pantaypantay. Your wealth has rotted away, your clothes have become moth-eaten, your gold and silver have corroded, and that corrosion will be a testimony against you; it will devour your flesh like a fire. You have stored up treasure for the last days. Behold, the wages you withheld from the workers who harvested your fields are crying aloud; and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and pleasure; you have fattened your hearts for the day of slaughter. You have condemned; you have murdered the righteous one; he offers you no resistance. GOSPEL MK 9:38-43, 45, At that time, John said to Jesus, "Teacher, we saw someone driving out demons in your name, and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow us." Jesus replied, "Do not prevent him. There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me. For whoever is not against us is for us. Anyone who gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ, amen, I say to you, will surely not lose his reward. "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were put around his neck and he were thrown into the sea. If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed than with two hands to go into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire. 2A LECTURA SANT 5, 1-6 Lloren y laméntense, ustedes, los ricos, por las desgracias que les esperan. Sus riquezas se han corrompido; la polilla se ha comido sus vestidos; enmohecidos están su oro y su plata, y ese moho será una prueba contra ustedes y consumirá sus carnes, como el fuego. Con esto ustedes han atesorado un castigo para los últimos días. El salario que ustedes han defraudado a los trabajadores que segaron sus campos está clamando contra ustedes; sus gritos han llegado hasta el oído del Señor de los ejércitos. Han vivido ustedes en este mundo entregados al lujo y al placer, engordando como reses para el día de la matanza. Han condenado a los inocentes y los han matado, porque no podían defenderse. EVANGELIO MC 9, En aquel tiempo, Juan le dijo a Jesús: Hemos visto a uno que expulsaba a los demonios en tu nombre, y como no es de los nuestros, se lo prohibimos. Pero Jesús le respondió: No se lo prohíban, porque no hay ninguno que haga milagros en mi nombre, que luego sea capaz de hablar mal de mí. Todo aquel que no está contra nosotros, está a nuestro favor. Todo aquel que les dé a beber un vaso de agua por el hecho de que son de Cristo, les aseguro que no se quedará sin recompensa. Al que sea ocasión de pecado para esta gente sencilla que cree en mí, más le valdría que le pusieran al cuello una de esas enormes piedras de molino y lo arrojaran al mar. Si tu mano te es ocasión de pecado, córtatela; pues más te vale entrar manco en la vida eterna, que ir con tus dos manos al lugar de castigo, al fuego que no se apaga. IKALAWANG PAGBASA (San 5:1-6) PAKINGGAN ninyo ito, kayong mayayaman! Tumangis kayo at humagulgol dahil sa mga kapighatiang darating sa inyo. Bulok na ang inyong mga kayamanan at kinain na ng tanga ang inyong mga damit. Kinain na ng kalawang ang inyong ginto at pilak, at ang kalawang ding iyon ang magiging katibayan laban sa inyo at parang apoy na uubos sa inyong laman. Iyan ang kayamanang inimpok ninyo para sa mga huling araw. Sumisigaw laban sa inyo ang upa na hindi ninyo ibinigay sa mga gumapas sa inyong bukirin. Umabot sa langit, sa pandinig ng Panginoong Makapangyarihan sa lahat, ang mga hinaing ng mga mang-aani na inyong inapi! Nagpakalayaw kayo at nagpasasa dito sa lupa. Nagpataba kayong parang mga hayop na papatayin. Hinatulan ninyo at ipinapatay ang mga matuwid; hindi sila lumaban sa inyo. ALELUYA (JN 17:17B. A) Aleluya! Aleluya! MABUTING BALITA (MC 9:38-43, 45, 47-48) NOONG panahong iyon, sinabi kay Hesus ni Juan, Guro, nakakita po kami ng isang taong nagpapalayas ng mga demonyo sa pamamagitan ng pangalan mo, at pinagbawalan namin sapagkat hindi natin siya kasamahan. Ngunit sinabi ni Hesus, Huwag ninyo siyang pagbawalan, sapagkat walang taong matapos gumawa ng kababalaghan sa pangalan ko ang agad magsasalita ng masama laban sa akin. Sapagkat ang hindi laban sa atin ay panig sa atin. Sinasabi ko sa inyo: sinumang magbigay sa inyo ng isang basong tubig dahil sa kayo y kay Kristo ay tiyak na gagantimpalaan. Better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into Gehenna, where 'their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.'" Y si tu pie te es ocasión de pecado, córtatelo; pues más te vale entrar cojo en la vida eterna, que con tus dos pies ser arrojado al lugar de castigo. Y si tu ojo te es ocasión de pecado, sácatelo; pues más te vale entrar tuerto en el Reino de Dios, que ser arrojado con tus dos ojos al lugar de castigo, donde el gusano no muere y el fuego no se apaga.
