2 2 You are advised to spend 45 minutes answering the questions in this booklet. QUESTION ONE: A Unique Student Read the story below about a unique student. Answer the questions on pages 3 and 5, in English, in the spaces provided. The text and glossary have been printed again on page 4 so that you will not need to turn back to this page. Your answers must be based on the information you read. You will be rewarded for providing: all the information requested and detailed answers.

6 6 QUESTION TWO: Let s Recycle Read the text below about recycling. Answer the questions on pages 7 and 9, in English, in the spaces provided. The text and glossary have been printed again on page 8 so that you will not need to turn back to this page. Your answers must be based on the information you read. You will be rewarded for providing: all the information requested and detailed answers.
7 7 (a) What is the importance of diversity in nature? (b) Describe the relationship between the forests and electricity. Give details. (c) (i) What should be done with non-renewable resources? (ii) Why should this be done? Give detailed evidence to support your answer to (i). (d) What are TWO possible positive effects of recycling? Positive Effect (1): Positive Effect (2): (e) Explain the current situation of recycling in many regions of the world. (i) Is recycling common worldwide? (ii) Give detailed evidence to support your answer to (i).
