3 El Centro de Iniciativas de Tolosa, en el marco del 46 Certamen Coral de Tolosa, convoca este concurso de acuerdo a las siguientes Bases: FECHAS 29 de Octubre: Llegada Coros Del 30 de Octubre al 1 de Noviembre: Fase competitiva 2 de Noviembre: Sesión de Clausura, con la intervención obligatoria de los coros premiados en todas las modalidades. CATEGORIAS Y MODALIDADES La competición se desarrolla conforme a las siguientes categorías: Categoría 1 Coros de Cámara Categoría 2 Grupos Vocales CATEGORIA 1 - COROS DE CÁMARA 1.1. En este Certamen podrán participar Coros de Voces Mixtas y de Voces Iguales formados por un mínimo 20 y un máximo de 40 cantores. El coro que no respete estos límites será penalizado conforme al art Los programas presentados a concurso en esta Categoría deberán ser definitivamente aprobados por la comisión artística del Certamen Los grupos participantes están obligados a participar en las siguientes Modalidades: a) Modalidad I: CANCION VASCA Y MUSICA POPULAR b) Modalidad II: POLIFONIA 1.4. MODALIDAD I: CANCIÓN VASCA Y MUSICA POPULAR a) Obra Obligada Voces Mixtas: PLAINTE DE LA JEUNE CHATELAINE, de Javier Bello Portu ( ). Obra Obligada Voces Iguales: ESPERANTZARI LEIHO BAT, de Idoia Azurmendi (1971). b) Una obra popular vasca o una obra de creación con texto en vasco c) Una Obra de Folklore del país del coro DE CARACTER POPULAR. d) Obras de carácter popular (Folklore, Jazz, Pop, Show-choir ). 3

4 - Se permite la utilización de un pequeño acompañamiento instrumental. La organización proveerá únicamente de piano. - El programa presentado (incluida la obra obligada) tendrá una duración mínima de 15 minutos y una máxima de 18 minutos de tiempo real de música. El coro que no respete estos tiempos, será penalizado conforme al artículo MODALIDAD II: POLIFONIA a) Obra Obligada Voces Mixtas: HODIE CHRISTUS, de Javier Busto (1949). Obra Obligada Voces Iguales: AVE MARIA, de César Alejandro Carrillo (1957) b) Una obra de compositor nacido antes de c) Una Obra compuesta entre 1801 y d) Una obra compuesta después de El programa presentado, incluida la Obra Obligada, tendrá una duración mínima de 15 minutos y una máxima de 18 minutos de tiempo real de música. El coro que no respete estos tiempos, será penalizado conforme al art Hasta la duración máxima de 18 minutos, se podrán elegir libremente otras obras suplementarias. - Los coros mixtos deberán presentar repertorio a 4 o más voces. 4

5 - Se recomienda que una única obra, bien del apartado c o del apartado d, lleve un pequeño acompañamiento instrumental de tres instrumentos como máximo. La organización proveerá únicamente de piano. El resto del programa deberá ser interpretado exclusivamente a cappella. - Ninguna obra podrá tener una duración superior a la mitad de la duración total de las obras elegidas. - Al menos una de las obras presentadas deberá ser de un autor del país de origen del coro. - Se recomienda que las obras sean de estilos y caracteres variados y contrastados. CATEGORIA 2 GRUPOS VOCALES 3.1 En esta Categoría podrán participar Grupos Vocales Mixtos, masculinos o femeninos formados por un mínimo de 4 y un máximo de 16 cantores. El grupo que no respete estos límites será penalizado conforme al art Pueden estar formados tanto de aficionados como de profesionales, no existiendo límite de edad. 3.3 Durante la actuación, el Grupo Vocal, podrá cambiar algunos de sus componentes hasta un máximo de tres cantores. Caso de incumplir esta norma serán eliminados. 3.4 Los programas presentados en esta categoría deberán ser definitivamente aprobados por la comisión artística del Certamen. 3.5 Los grupos están obligados a participar en las siguientes Modalidades: a) Modalidad I: MUSICA RELIGIOSA b) Modalidad II: MUSICA PROFANA MODALIDAD I: MUSICA RELIGIOSA Deberán interpretar un programa de libre elección con texto religioso. En este programa se deberán incluir, al menos: a) Una obra compuesta antes de 1700 b) Una obra compuesta entre 1800 y 1980 c) Una obra compuesta después de

6 MODALIDAD II MUSICA PROFANA Deberán interpretar un programa de libre elección. Ambos programas deberán incluir, al menos: a) Una obra compuesta antes de 1700 b) Una obra compuesta entre 1800 y 1980 c) Una obra compuesta después de El programa presentado en cada una de estas modalidades tendrá una duración mínima de 15 minutos y una máxima de 18 minutos de tiempo real de música. El coro que no respete estos tiempos, será penalizado conforme al art Hasta la duración máxima de 18 minutos, se podrán elegir libremente otras obras suplementarias. - Las obras deberán ser interpretadas a cappella. La utilización de cualquier instrumento melódico o de percusión está prohibida. - Ninguna obra podrá tener una duración superior a la mitad de la duración total de las obras elegidas. - Al menos una de las obras presentadas deberá ser de un autor del país de origen del coro. - Se recomienda que las obras sean de estilos y caracteres variados y contrastados. PREMIOS Se establecen los siguientes premios para cada Modalidad: 1º Premio: Trofeo de oro y EURO. 2º Premio: Trofeo de plata y 750 EURO. 3º Premio: Trofeo de bronce y 500 EURO. El pago de dichos premios será efectuado mediante transferencia bancaria el mismo día de la Sesión de Clausura. 6

7 GRAN PREMIO CERTAMEN CORAL DE TOLOSA El Gran Premio Europeo de Canto Coral, es un Concurso organizado por los Concursos Internacionales Corales de Arezzo de Italia, Debrecen de Hungría, Maribor de Eslovenia, Tours de Francia, Varna de Bulgaria y Tolosa. Los Coros ganadores absolutos en cualquiera de estos Concursos competirán en 2015 en TOURS (Francia) por el Gran Premio Europeo de Canto Coral. Todos los coros participantes en los diversos Concursos de este 46 Certamen Coral de Tolosa compiten al mismo tiempo para obtener este Gran Premio Certamen Coral de Tolosa que otorga la nominación al Gran Premio Europeo representando a Tolosa. El premio está dotado de EUROS que serán entregadas en el momento de su participación en el Gran Premio Europeo para el que ha sido nominado. Las condiciones para obtener dicha nominación son las siguientes: Haber obtenido la máxima puntuación del Certamen en cualquiera de las diversas Categorías. Estar formado por un número mínimo de 12 cantores Ser un coro compuesto solamente por cantores no profesionales. No haber sido nominado previamente, ese mismo año, en alguno de los otros concursos del Gran Premio. AYUDAS DE LA ORGANIZACION Como ayuda a gastos de desplazamiento, la Organización pagará las siguientes cantidades, según las distancias que cada coro haya de cubrir desde su punto de origen a Tolosa: 240 EURO para distancias inferiores a 50 kilómetros. 250 EURO para distancias entre 50 y 200 kilómetros. Para los coros cuyas distancias sean superiores a 200 kilómetros, la Organización correrá con los gastos de estancia (cama y comidas) desde la cena del día 29 de Octubre a la comida del día 2 de Noviembre de

8 INSCRIPCIONES 1. Queda abierto el plazo de inscripción para tomar parte en este Certamen y se cerrará el día 15 de Mayo de El BOLETIN DE INSCRIPCION deberá enviarse a: Centro de Iniciativas de Tolosa Plaza Euskal-Herria, TOLOSA No se considerará la inscripción en firme mientras no se cumplimente totalmente el Boletín de Inscripción antes citado, incluyendo toda la documentación solicitada en dicho Boletín de Inscripción. La admisión o exclusión al concurso será comunicado al coro dentro de los 30 días posteriores al cierre de Inscripción. Las obras no serán devueltas y quedarán en los archivos del concurso. 3. Las obras podrán interpretarse en el orden que desee su director, dicho orden deberá ser notificado a la Organización antes del 10 de septiembre de 2014, no admitiéndose con posterioridad ningún cambio al ya determinado. 4. Los Coros premiados están obligados a estar presentes y participar en la Sesión de Clausura, cuya duración estimada es hasta las 14,00h. del día 2 de Noviembre. 5. Los coros participantes tienen la obligación de actuar en los conciertos que tengan lugar en los pueblos próximos a Tolosa.

9 JURADO Y FALLO 6. El Jurado estará compuesto por siete personalidades musicales de diversos países cuyos nombres serán hechos públicos un mes antes de iniciarse el Certamen. 7. El Jurado valorará sobre las siguientes características: - Riqueza expresiva y tímbrica. - Respeto a la formulación musical. - Variedad y calidad del programa presentado. 8. Cada miembro del Jurado puntuará hasta 100 puntos por la actuación global de cada coro. Se eliminarán la máxima y mínima puntuación otorgada, obteniéndose la puntuación definitiva mediante la suma de las puntuaciones del resto de los miembros del Jurado. 9. El Jurado, por unanimidad, tiene la facultad de no atribuir premios a los coros que no hayan obtenido al menos los siguientes porcentajes: 85% del total de puntos para el primer premio. 80% del total de puntos para el segundo premio. 75% del total de puntos para el tercer premio. 10. La penalización por cada minuto fuera del límite, máximo o mínimo, fijado en cada modalidad será de 5 puntos. 11. El coro será penalizado con 5 puntos por cada cantor que no llegue, o exceda, al número de cantores exigido en su categoría. 12. La Sesión de Clausura no puntúa a efectos de clasificación. 13. El fallo del Jurado será inapelable, y se hará público en la Sesión de Clausura. 14. La clasificación y puntuaciones obtenidas serán entregadas a todas las corales participantes. DISPOSICIONES FINALES 15. La Organización podrá editar discográficamente y grabar en vídeo las obras interpretadas en el Certamen o los Conciertos Adicionales. Los coros no podrán exigir por ello derechos de interpretación o de imagen. 16. La Organización se reserva el derecho a modificar las presentes bases si lo creyere oportuno. 17. La participación en el 46 CERTAMEN CORAL DE TOLOSA implica la aceptación plena de las presentes bases. 9

13 The Centre of Initiatives of Tolosa organizes for the 46th time this event according to following Rules: DATES 29 st October: Arrival of the groups 30 st October - 2 nd November: Competition 2 nd of November: Closing Act, with the obligatory participation of the awarded choirs in each modality. CATEGORIES AND MODALITIES The competition is developed according to the following categories: Category 1 Chamber Choirs Category 2 Vocal Groups CATEGORY 1 CHAMBER CHOIRS 1.1 In this Contest Choirs of Mixed Voices and Equal Voices made up of a minimum of 20 singers and a maximum of 40 can participate. The choir breaking these number limits will be penalized, as it is explained in point The programmes to be performed at the contest in this Category must be finally approved by the Artistic Committee of the Contest. 1.3 The participants have the obligation to participate in the following modalities: a) Modality I: BASQUE SONG AND POPULAR MUSIC b) Modality II: POLYPHONY 1.4 MODALITY I: BASQUE SONG AND POPULAR MUSIC a) Obligatory rendering of Mixed Choirs: PLAINTE DE LA JEUNE CHATELAINE, de Javier Bello Portu ( ). Obligatory rendering of Equal Choirs: ESPERANTZARI LEIHO BAT, de Idoia Azurmendi (1971). b) A popular Basque composition or an Original composition with text in Basque language. c) A Folklore work from the choir s country of POPULAR CHARACTER. d) Works of popular character (Folklore, Jazz, Pop, Show-choir...) 13

14 - It is allowed the use of a small instrumental accompaniment. The organization will only provide a piano. - The programme to be performed (including the obligatory score) will last, at least, 15 minutes and, at most, 18 minutes of real singing time. The choir breaking these time limits will be penalized as it is explained in point MODALITY II: POLYPHONY a) Obligatory rendering of Mixed Choirs: HODIE CHRISTUS, de Javier Busto (1949). 15 - The mixed choirs must present a repertoire for 4 or more voices. - It is recommended that one unique song, either from section c or d has a small instrumental accompaniment of three instruments at most. The organization will only provide a piano. The rest of the programme must be performed exclusively a cappella. - None of the songs will last more than half of the total performance time. - At least one of the presented songs has to be from the choir's native country. - It is recommended that the songs belong to different and varied styles and characters. CATEGORY 2 VOCAL GROUPS 3.1. Vocal groups made up of a mínimum of 4 and a máximum of 16 singers may take part and could be male, female or mixed groups. The choir breaking these number limits will be penalized, as it is explained in point The groups may be amateur as well as professional, with no age limit During your performance the Vocal Group might change some of its components up to a máximum of three singers. In case this rule would not be fulfilled, the group would be eliminated The programmes to be performed at the contest in this Category must be finally approved by the Artistic Committee of the Contest All the participating groups must take part in two modalities: a) Modality I: RELIGIOUS MUSIC b) Modality II: SECULAR MUSIC MODALITY I: RELIGIOUS MUSIC The groups will have to perform a free selection programme with religious text. In this programme, they must include at least: a) One work composed before 1700; b) One work composed between 1800 and 1980; c) One work composed after

16 MODALITY II SECULAR MUSIC The groups will have to perform a free selection programme with non religious text. In this programme, they must include at least: a) One work composed before 1700, b) One work composed between 1800 and 1950, c) One work composed after The programme to be performed in each one of these Modalities will last, at least, 15 minutes and, at most, 18 minutes of real singing time. The choir that breaking these time limits will be penalized as it is said in point If the maximum of 18 minutes time of performance is not reached, other supplementary songs may be chosen. - The songs must be performed "a cappella", and the use of any melodic or percussion instrument is completely forbidden. - None of the songs will last more than half of the total performance time. - At least one of these compositions must be from the native country of the group. - It is recommended that the songs belong to different and varied styles and characters. PRIZES The following prizes will be given for each Modality: 1st. Prize: Gold Medal and EURO 2nd. Prize: Silver Medal and 750 EURO 3rd. Prize: Bronze Medal and 500 EURO The payment of these prizes will be made means of bank transfer in the day of the Closing Ceremony. 16

17 KUTXA GRAND PRIX The European "Grand Prix" for Choral Singing is a Contest organized by the International Choral Contests of Arezzo in Italy, Debrecen in Hungary, Maribor in Eslovenia, Tours in France, Varna in Bulgay and Tolosa. The choirs winning in any of these Contests will compete in 2015 in TOURS (France), for the European "Grand Prix" for Choral Singing All the choirs participating in any of the several Contests within this 46 Tolosa Choral Contest compete, at the same time, to obtain this "Kutxa" Grand Prize awarding the nomination to the European "Grand Prix" representing Tolosa. The prize is EURO which will be given at the moment of his participation in the European "Grand Prix" for which has been nominated. The conditions to obtain the aforesaid nomination are the following: To have obtained the maximum scoring of the Contest in any of the various Categories. It must be made up of a minimum of 12 singers. It must be a choir made up of non-professional singers exclusively. Not to be nominated previously, on that same year, in any of the other contests of the Grand Prix. HELP FROM THE ORGANIZATION For distances over 200km, the Organization will cover the lodging expenses (bed and meals), from the dinner of 29th October to lunch of the 2nd November. The travelling expenses to Tolosa will be at charge of the participating group. INSCRIPTIONS 1. Applications to take part in this Competition are now open. The deadline will be the 15th of May,

18 The APPLICATION FORM must be sent to CENTRO DE INICIATIVAS DE TOLOSA Plaza Euskal-Herria, TOLOSA. (SPAIN) 2. Application will not be considered valid until the aforesaid Application Form has been duly fulfilled. The acceptance or exclusion of the Contest will be communicated to the choir within the 30 days after the deadline. 18 The scores to be performed will not be returned and will remain in the files of the Contest. 3. The conductor decides the order in which the works are to be performed. The Organization has to be informed of this order before September 10th, No changes will be admitted after this date. 4. Prized choirs must stay for the Closing Act and take part in it. The approximated duration of this Act is until 14:00 on the 2Nd of November. 5. The participants have the obligation to be present during the entire period of the Contest and they must be ready to cooperate in the concerts that will take place in the villages around.

19 JURY AND RESULT 6. The Jury will be made up of seven musical personalities from different countries. One month before the Competition is due to take place the members of the Jury will be published. 7. The Jury bases their decissions on the following characteristics: Expressive and timbre richness. Observance of the musical notation. Variety and quality of the presented programme. 8. Each member of the Jury will give up to 100 points for the global performance of each group. Maximum and minimum scoring obtained by the choirs will be cancelled and the veredict of the Jury will be made adding the scoring of the rest of its members (of the Jury). 9. The Jury, unanimously, has the power not to attribute prizes to the choirs that have not reached, at least, the following percentages: 85% of the total of points for the first prize. 80% of the total of points for the second prize. 75% of the total of points for the third prize. 10. The penalty for each minute out of the fixed time limit will be of 5 points. 11. The penalty for each singer out of the fixed limit in each category will be of 5 points. 12. The Closing Act is not valid for the classification. 13. The decision of the Jury will not be subject to appeal and will be made public during the Closing Act. 14. The classification and scorings obtained will be given to all participating choirs. FINAL DISPOSITIONS 15. The Organization may record and videotape the performance in the Competition and the choirs are not allowed to claim any right of performance or image. 16. The Centre of Iniciatives of Tolosa will be pleased to send any additional information regarding the interpretation of these rules and reserves the right to modify them if it would be advisible. 17. It is understood that each choir participating in this 46 TOLOSA CHORAL CONTEST fully accepts and adheres to the rules and regulations of the Competition. 19
