2 This multipurpose travel pack is designed to serve you in three ways. hauling Cargo Attach to racks on roof for top of car cargo space. Luggage/travel Use built-in shoulder straps to carry as luggage. Storage space Hang vertically from the red storage loops. Pack sits on the roof and requires crossbars or side-rails for attachment. Strap attachment depends upon your rack style. Follow these attachment and installation instructions carefully. Make sure the zipper is closed completely. Pull out the shoulder straps from inside the pack base. Attach each strap to the clip on each side of the packs. Roll cover and secure with side buckles. Make sure the hook and loop tabs on the dividers are toward the storage loops. Make sure that pack weight can be supported before hanging with gear inside. Unfold the pack Completely unzip the zipper in both directions. open the pack Fold back the unzipped top to expose the interior. Install internal DIVIDERS Fold the hook and loop tabs toward the storage loops. Apply pressure to secure the tabs to the fuzzy strips inside the pack. Load your gear Distribute the contents evenly among the divided sections. DO NOT over-stuff the pack! A - /15
3 Close the bag Replace the top cover flap Close the zipper completely. Align zipper tabs at the center-back. Attach a lock or zip tie through zipper lock rings if desired. If there is any resistance, check for overstuffing. Use caution when cutting a zip tie; do not allow cutting tool to contact bag! Luggage or hauling cargo? Pull out shoulder straps and attach to sides, pull strap ends to tighten. OR Clear away dirt and debris from car s roof. Lift with end handles to load onto VEHICLE roof Do not exceed the strength or capacity of your vehicle s roof. Refer to your vehicle owner's manual for limitations. padded base pocket Back Packing Straps: Insert flattened straps into the padded base pocket before loading onto roof. Get a friend to help you load the pack onto your vehicle, or fill it partially, load it, and then finish packing. Select correct Pack position on your car s roof CROSSBARS: All 4 straps should be attached to the crossbars or towers (2 front, 2 rear). SIDE-RAILS: Straps attach to either side of the center post. In a BASKET: Install front straps to front of basket, and rear straps to rear of basket. front of car front of car front of car Factory crossbars A - 3/15 after market bars INSTALL the pack between the rails or bars, NOT ABOVE THE BARS! IMPORTANT! NEVER INSTALL PACK SIDEWAYS on vehicle and the top flap must unfold towards the front of the vehicle!
4 install all four attachment straps to the pack Insert tab-ends at an angle, through the correct attachment loops for your rack. Pass ends through buckles again. Pull to tighten. Aftermarket crossbars: If straps are still loose, loop straps around towers instead of bars. secure each strap to the racks Pull the strap ends to tighten the pack to the racks. Tuck the end of the strap back into the buckle to prevent the strap from loosening. Secure strap ends with tabs. Always use the hook and loop tabs to secure surplus strap. CONNECT COMPRESSION STRAP BUCKLES Tighten all four compression straps. Pull strap ends against bag contents. Secure excess strap Use hook and loop tabs. Check the Load! Pull and push the loaded pack. If there is movement, tighten where needed. Check the straps as you travel and tighten if necessary! WARNING Use care when moving filled pack from a car's roof. To avoid personal inury or damage to the vehicle, get a friend to help you lift the pack from the car; or empty it partially before unload the pack A - /15
5 weight limit Maximum weight allowable is 100 lbs./45 kg or the capacity of your roof as stated by the vehicle manufacturer. Road travel restrictions Do not drive off-road. Do not install onto trailers, campers, RVs unless a rack is installed. Although this product has padding, it will not prevent dents caused by over loading, under securing, or off-road driving. Replace any straps that appear worn or frayed. Remove pack before entering an automatic car wash. Before driving away Pack must be closed and attached to crossbars or siderails. Check straps, buckles, and zipper before traveling. Keep straps and pack from making contact with sharp metal edges. strap WARNING: Tighten all straps after extended travel, and periodically during travel. Failure to check straps before and during travel could result in property damage, personal injury or death. Do not leave your loaded pack on the vehicle unattended. A closed, secured zipper is not theft-proof. luggage Keep the load manageable. An over loaded pack can cause you to lose your balance, especially on stairs. Make sure the zipper is closed completely. When moving pack to car top use, detach and insert flattened straps into the padded base pocket. Airport: This bag may be considered "over-sized" Check with your airline before traveling. storage and maintenance Do not leave the empty bag mounted to the vehicle. Driving with an empty bag attached to the roof could damage the vehicle Always clean the bag after travel using a damp sponge with mild detergent containing no additives (such as alcohol, chlorine or ammonia) and air dry completely. 7 Ce sac de voyage polyvalent peut servir à trois usages. SAC DE TRANSPORT Arrimer le sac à un portebagages pour transporter des bagages sur le toit. SAC À DOS / DE VOYAGE Employer les bretelles incorporées pour le porter comme un sac à dos. SAC DE RANGEMENT Suspendre le sac verticalement grâce aux anneaux de suspension rouges. Le sac repose sur le toit et doit être arrimé à des barres transversales ou des longerons. L arrimage des sangles dépend du style de porte-bagages. Suivre soigneusement ces instructions d arrimage et de pose. S assurer que la glissière est complètement fermée. Sortir les bretelles se trouvant dans le fond du sac. Fixer chaque bretelle à une boucle sur le côté du sac. Rouler le dessus du sac et le fixer aux boucles latérales. S assurer que les pattes velcro des cloisons sont placées vers les anneaux de suspension. Vérifier que les points d accrochage sont assez forts pour soutenir le sac chargé. DÉROULER LE SAC Ouvrir la glissière complètement dans les deux sens. OUVRIR LE SAC Rabattre le dessus du sac pour avoir accès à l intérieur. METTRE LES CLOISONS EN PLACE Tourner les pattes velcro vers les anneaux de suspension. Appuyer les pattes pour les coller aux bandes de tissu doux à l intérieur du sac. CHARGER LE MATÉRIEL Répartir les objets également dans les compartiments. NE PAS TROP REMPLIR LE SAC! A - 7/15
8 REFERMER LE SAC Rabattre le dessus du sac. Fermer la glissière complètement. Aligner les curseurs de la glissière à l arrière, au centre. On peut verrouiller la glissière en enfilant un cadenas ou une attache de plastique crantée dans les anneaux des curseurs. S il y a de la résistance, vérifier que le sac n est pas trop rempli. Faire attention en coupant une attache de plastique de ne pas endommager le sac! SAC À DOS OU SAC DE TRANSPORT? Sortir les bretelles et les fixer aux côtés ; tirer sur le bout des bretelles pour les serrer. OU Bien essuyer le toit du véhicule. SOULEVER LE SAC PAR LES POIGNÉES DE BOUT POUR LE CHARGER SUR LE TOIT Ne pas dépasser la capacité du toit du véhicule. Consulter le manuel du véhicule pour connaître cette capacité. POCHE DANS LE FOND REMBOURRÉ BRETELLES : Ranger les bretelles à plat dans la poche du fond rembourré avant de charger le sac sur le toit. Obtenir de l aide pour charger le sac sur le toit, ou le remplir partiellement, le charger et finir ensuite de le remplir. CHOISIR LA POSITION DU SAC CONVENANT AU TOIT DU VÉHICULE BARRES TRANSVERSALES : Arrimer les 4 sangles aux barres transversales ou à leurs pieds (2 devant, 2 derrière) LONGERONS : Arrimer les sangles de part et d autre du support central. 9 POSER LES QUATRE SANGLES D ARRIMAGE SUR LE SAC Insérer les bandes velcro de biais dans les anneaux d arrimage convenant au véhicule. Repasser le bout dans la boucle. Tirer pour tendre. BARRES ACCESSOIRES : S il n est pas possible de tendre les sangles, les passer autour des pieds plutôt que des barres. ARRIMER CHAQUE SANGLE AUX BARRES TIRER SUR LE BOUT DES SANGLES POUR SERRER LE SAC CONTRE LES BARRES. Ramener le bout des sangles dans leur boucle pour empêcher les sangles de se détendre. Attacher l excédent avec les bandes velcro. Toujours employer les bandes velcro pour ranger l excédent des sangles. RACCORDER LES SANGLES DE COMPRESSION À LEUR BOUCLE SERRER LES QUATRE SANGLES DE COMPRESSION. Tendre le bout des sangles contre le contenu du sac. ATTACHER L EXCÉDENT DES SANGLES Employer les bandes velcro. VÉRIFIER LE CHARGEMENT! Tirer et pousser sur le sac une fois chargé. S il y a du jeu, serrer les sangles voulues. Vérifier les sangles en cours de route et les resserrer au besoin A - /15 AVERTISSEMENT FAIRE ATTENTION EN DÉCHARGEANT LE SAC REMPLI DU TOIT DU VÉHICULE. Pour éviter les blessures ou les dommages au véhicule, obtenir de l aide pour décharger le sac du toit, ou le vider partiellement avant de le décharger.
10 LIMITE DE POIDS : La limite de chargement admissible est de 45 kg (100 lb) ou la capacité du toit indiquée par le fabricant du véhicule. LIMITATIONS DE CONDUITE Ne pas conduire hors-route. Ne pas installer sur une remorque, une autocaravane, un véhicule récréatif à moins qu il n y ait un porte-bagages. Même si ce sac est rembourré, il n empêchera pas les dommages provoqués par la surcharge, un mauvais arrimage ou la conduite hors-route. Remplacer les sangles qui sembleraient usées ou élimées. Enlever le sac avant d entrer dans un lave-auto automatique. AVANT DE PRENDRE LA ROUTE Le sac doit être fermé et arrimé aux barres transversales ou aux longerons. Vérifier les sangles, les boucles et la glissière avant de partir. Empêcher les sangles et le sac d entrer en contact avec des arêtes métalliques vives. AVERTISSEMENT : Il faut obligatoirement serrer les sangles avant de faire une longue route, et périodiquement au cours du trajet, sous peine de risquer de provoquer des dommages, des blessures ou même la mort. NE PAS LAISSER LE SAC CHARGÉ SUR LE VÉHICULE SANS SURVEILLANCE. UNE GLISSIÈRE FERMÉE, MÊME CADENASSÉE, N EST PAS À L ÉPREUVE DU VOL. UTILISATION EN SAC À DOS Ne pas trop charger le sac. Si le sac était trop lourd, on pourrait perdre l équilibre, surtout dans un escalier. S assurer que la glissière est complètement fermée. Avant de charger le sac sur le toit du véhicule, détacher et ranger les bretelles à plat dans la poche du fond rembourré. À L AÉROPORT : ce sac sera peut-être jugé trop grand. Vérifier auprès de la compagnie aérienne à l avance. ENTREPOSAGE ET ENTRETIEN Ne pas laisser le sac vide monté sur le véhicule. Si l on roulait avec le sac vide monté sur le toit, on pourrait endommager le véhicule. Toujours nettoyer le sac après usage avec une éponge humide et un savon doux ne renfermant pas d additifs comme de l alcool, du chlore ou de l ammoniaque, et le laisser sécher à l air complètement. 12 Esta maleta de viaje multiuso está diseñada para usarse de tres maneras. PARA COLOCARLA EN EL PORTAEQUIPAJES Sujete la maleta a los rieles del techo de su vehículo para colocar la carga. COMO EQUIPAJE PARA VIAJES Use las correas de mochila incorporadas para cargar la maleta como equipaje. Cuelgue la maleta verticalmente de los bucles rojos. PARA ALMACENAMIENTO La maleta se acomoda en el techo y requiere de barras transversales o rieles laterales para sujetarse. La sujeción de las correas depende del estilo de rieles de su vehículo. Siga cuidadosamente estas instrucciones de sujeción e instalación. Cerciórese de que el cierre de cremallera esté completamente cerrado. Saque las correas de mochila del interior de la base de la maleta. Sujete cada correa a cada presilla lateral de la maleta. Enrolle la cubierta y asegure con las hebillas laterales. Cerciórese de que las lengüetas con cierres Velcro en las divisiones estén hacia los bucles de carga. Verifique que el peso de la maleta pueda sostenerse antes de colgar la maleta con la carga. EXTIENDA LA MALETA Abra completamente el cierre de cremallera en ambas direcciones. ABRA LA MALETA Extienda la cubierta superior abierta de la maleta para dejar expuesto el interior. 13 CIERRE LA MALETA Vuelva a colocar la cubierta superior de la maleta. Cierre la maleta completamente. Alinee lo asideros para cierre al centro, en la parte posterior de la maleta. Coloque, si desea, un candado o similar o un precinto para cierres, uniendo los anillos. Si el cierre se resiste, verifique que la maleta no esté sobrecargada. Tenga cuidado al cortar el precinto, no permita que la herramienta cortante entre en contacto con la maleta! COMO EQUIPAJE O PAR A COLOCAR LA MALETA COMO PORTAEQUIPAJES? Saque las correas de mochila, sujételas a los lados y jale de sus extremos para ajustarlas. O Limpie la suciedad o posibles desechos del techo del vehículo. LEVANTE LA MALETA POR LAS ASAS DEL EXTREMO PARA COLOCARLA SOBRE EL TECHO DEL VEHÍCULO No exceda la resistencia o capacidad de carga de su vehículo! Remítase al manual del propietario del vehículo para informarse sobre los límites de carga. BOLSILLO DE LA BASE ACOLCHADA. 14 INSTALE LAS CUATRO CORREAS DE SUJECIÓN A LA MALETA Inserte los extremos de las lengüetas en ángulo, a través de los anillos de sujeción correctos. Pase nuevamente los extremos por las hebillas. Jale para ajustar. BARRAS TRANSVERSALES DESMONTABLES: Si las correas siguen flojas, páselas alrededor de las torres en lugar de las barras.
