Join us in this Men's Gathering and Prayer Service for Our Hurting World, this Thursday, December 7th at 7pm in the St. James Parish Hall, immediately following the 6 pm Feast of The Immaculate Conception Mass. We will gather for food, fellowship and prayer. Curious? As Jesus invites, "Come." Lumen Gentium Award: Lumen Gentium, Latin for Light of the People, refers to the Second Vatican Council s Document on the Laity, in which lay people are called to live their baptismal commitment in service to the people of God. Each year, one person (or couple) is chosen from each parish to receive this award, presented by Archbishop Gustavo in a special ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, 7 pm at St. Dominic Church in San Antonio. This year, our Pastoral Council chose as recipients from our Catholic Community Mrs. Doris Baros (SJ), Mrs. Dolores Rodriguez (SH), and Mrs. Alejandra Moreno (SP). Doris, Dolores and Alejandra, congratulations! And continue your good work for the Lord. Cancellation of 2018 Family Retreat: Due to a head-on conflict with the Capital Campaign Kick-Off Sunday, we will not be able to have our Family Retreat next February as originally planned. Safety Procedures in our Churches: Our Pastoral Council has been examining how we might better provide a safe environment for our parishioners as we gather for worship, study and other activities. At this Tuesday s meeting, we will continue examining how we can best respond and finalize a plan for implementation. Youth Liturgy this coming Saturday at 5:30: All are invited to support our youth and join them in prayer! Congratulations and blessings to Jovanni Venegas and Veronica Mendoza, who celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony this coming Saturday. Reconocimiento Lumen Gentium: Lumen Gentium - Luz del Pueblo en Latin, refiere al Documento sobre los Laicos por el Segundo Concilio Vaticano, que llama a los laicos bautizados a comprometerse en servicio al pueblo de Dios.
