Honor Choir Parent Meeting October 9, 2018
Welcome to Honor Choir Congratulations to your child for being selected to the award winning Aldine Children s Honor Choir Students in over 45 schools auditioned for this amazing choir. Enhorabuena a su hijo por haber sido seleccionado para el prestigioso Coro Infantil Honorífico de Aldine. Alumnos de más de 45 escuelas han participado en la audición.
Attendance/asistencia Attendance is very important. Please arrive by 5:15 each Monday evening. Students are tardy at 5:25 and will receive a tardy letter. Students that leave early will receive a leave early letter. La asistencia es muy importante. Por favor, llegue a las 5:15 cada lunes por la tarde. Attendance/asistencia Three tardies or leave earlies will equal 1 absence. After four absences, students will be dismissed from the choir. This includes ANY absence (sickness, death in family, emergency, etc.) Los alumnos que lleguen tarde o se vayan pronto tres veces se les contará como una ausencia. Excused Absences Absences will be excused if: Schools are closed that day Your child has a music performance at his/her school. Rehearsals/Spanish Rehearsals are closed rehearsals. Parents should wait in another place in the building or in their cars. Pick up your child at 7:10 from the MOC Theatre. Los ensayos son cerrados. Rehearsals/Spanish If a student is not picked up by 7:15, the student will be dismissed from choir. Directors need to go home to their families at 7:15. Si un alumno no ha sido recogido a las 7:15, se le expulsará del coro. Los directores tienen familias a las que atender a las 7:15.
Uniforms/Spanish Honor Choir uniforms are red polo shirts, black pants, black belt and black shoes. We will measure all students for their uniform in a few weeks. El uniforme del Coro Honorífico es un polo rojo, pantalones, cinturón y zapatos negros. Tomaremos las medidas de los uniformes de los estudiantes en unas semanas.
Fees/Spanish Honor Choir Supplies are $50.00 for the year. Previous HC Members Students that were in Honor Choir last year will need to wear their uniform to rehearsal on Oct. 22 to let Mrs. Riddle see if the uniform still fits and still looks appropriate. Honor Choir Footwear Parents should provide black socks (not navy) and black shoes (no sandals or heels). Athletic shoes are okay if the shoes are solid black no white showing. Newsletter and Payments Spanish We have an Honor Choir website which is: http://aldinehonorchoir.weebly.com On this website, there will be a link where you can fill out all of the Honor Choir forms and where you can pay by credit card. You will need to set up an account to pay by credit card. All payments are safe and secure from Aldine ISD. You may also write a check to Aldine ISD and turn in to Mrs. Riddle. Cash is accepted as well. We also allow parents to pay $20.00 per week until full payment is received. All payments are due by November 12. There will be no refunds after December 1. Tendrá que hacerse una cuenta y pagar mediante tarjeta de crédito. Los pagos son completamente seguros a través de Aldine ISD. También podrá pagar mediante cheque a Aldine ISD y entregarlo a Mrs. Riddle. Se acepta metálico. Además, los padres que así lo deseen podrán pagar 20$ a la semana hasta realizar el pago completo. Todos los pagos deberán hacerse antes del 12 de noviembre. No se harán devoluciones después del 1 de diciembre.

Student Behavior/Spanish Honor Choir students must display Honor Behavior. Students that do not behave will be given a conduct note. Three conduct notes will result in the student s dismissal from Honor Choir. (Not watching the director, talking, chewing gum, not following dress code or bothering others) Zero Tolerance If a student is impolite to another student or teacher, the offending student will be immediately removed from the choir. (This includes name calling, bullying, hitting, cyberbullying or any other disrespectful action). Los alumnos del Coro deben mostrar Comportamiento de Honor. Los alumnos que no se porten bien tendrán una nota de conducta. Tres notas de conducta les harán ser expulsados del Coro (no mirar al director, hablar, masticar chicle, no seguir el código de vestimenta o molestar a los otros) Tolerancia cero - si un estudiante es maleducado con otro estudiante o maestro, este será inmediatamente expulsado del Coro (Esto incluye poner sobrenombres, acoso, pegar, ciber acoso o cualquier otra acción irrespetuosa)
Dress Code/Spanish Students must follow the Aldine ISD dress code when attending Honor Choir rehearsals No tank tops or revealing shirts. Shorts must come to the knee. No flip-flops or shoes not allowed in Aldine. Hair should be pulled back out of face. Pleasant Expression Los estudiantes deben seguir las mismas reglas de vestir del Distrito de Aldine durante los ensayos del Coro. No se pueden vestir camisetas de tirantes ni camisas descubiertas. Los pantalones cortos deben llegar a la rodilla. No se pueden llevar chanclas u otros zapatos prohibidos en Aldine. El pelo debe estar recogido.
Announcements/Spanish Please walk your child to rehearsal each week and look for announcements on the wall! Come to the theatre to pick up your child at 7:10 each rehearsal. Park on the east side of MOC. Check the Honor Choir website for updates each week. Por favor, lleve a su hijo a ensayar cada semana y mire los anuncios en la pared! Performances/Spanish Performances are very important. Missed performances equal two absences. Jesse Jones Park Dec. 1st at 4:00. Rehearsal at 1:00 p.m. Holiday Concert Dec. 12 at 7:00. Contest at Blinn College Children s Music Festival April 27 Spring Concert and Awards May 6, 2019. Los conciertos son muy importantes. Faltar a un concierto es igual a dos faltas.
