Recuerde que los objetivos del proyecto no se refieren a listar actividades desarrolladas sino a los objetivos desarrollados OBJETIVOS N Identificar mappings que pueden producir cortes efectivos para problemas de prograrnacion entera CUMPLIMIENTO TOTAL mixta (MIP) 2 Realizar comparaciones con software comerciales mostrando la efectividad de la metodologia realizada 3 encontrar maping alternativos que sean efectivos TOTAL PARCIAL FUNDAMENTO La serie de experimentos, presentaciones en congresos y software desarrollado en tomo a la relajacion de multiples columnas de tableau activos de problemas MIP, dan cuenta del cumplimiento de este objetivo, asi como la serie de trabajos practicos y teoricos en el tema, y las citas al trabajo realizado Los resultados de estos test fueron publicados, logrando establecer mejoras claras en un amplio conjunto de problemas de la literatura, comparando contra uno de los software comerciales mas importante en el area industrial y academica Aparte del desarrollo inicial y test practicos de los cortes derivados de inultiples restricciones activas, los ultimos resultados en laboratorio apuntan hacia un nuevo mapping general para MIP que permite no solo agregar cortes, si no tambien resumir informacion de un arbol de branch and bound devuelta en el nodo raiz de un problema MIP a travez de cortes, estos resultados estan en preparacion y seran presentados durante este ano en el workshop internacional de programacion entera a realizarse en Atlanta, Georgia durante Julio del presente ano.
4 Publicar la teoria basica de separacion basada en PARCIAL El paper sobre 'Local Cuts para MIP generales cortes locales o resucciones locales, esta ya en la segunda ronda de referato para el journal "Math Programming Computations' Otro(s) aspecto(s) que Ud. considere importante(s) en la evaluación del cumplimiento de objetivos planteados en la propuesta original o en las modificaciones autorizadas por los Consejos.

(Aria! or Verdana, font size 10). <Begin to wrjte here> Identify rnappings that produce strong dutting planes for general mixed integer prograrnming. The idea is to test both rnappirigs that use tableau inforrnation,as Gomory cuts and MIR inequalities do, but extending the idea to explore the interaction of rnultiple rows at the same time. And to test mappings arising from relaxations of the original mixed integer problern at hand. The hope is to avoid tic numerical problems that all tableau-related cuts suifer iii practice. results: We succeded in finding at least one famillv of mappings that do offer better cuts (or at least competitive results) when compared to those used in coniercial software. Wc have also succeded in detecting thet mappings arising from the union of tic LP relaxation of all leaves in a partial B&B tree provide an interesting relaxation for general problcrns. For those problerns with a lot of conflict graph information, cuts derived wc tested that the cuts generated from such relaxation tended to be both "simple" in form, arid well behaved. 1-lowever, these structures are not very comon iii tic standard test instances fornid in the literature. Find alternative conditions for ensuring success of the cutting procedure, this is necessary in order to evaluate mappings that do not depend on tableau informnation. Results: We found that using a full mapping for the B&B LP relaxation always ensure the existence of violated cutting planes. More can be said in the case that the LP bound of the root LP is aboye all LP hounds in the leaves of the partial B&B tree. In that case, we can use a mapping using just the objective function and all variables used in tic branching process. Through comparisons with standard comrnercial software, test tic possible cffectiveness of this approach in practice, using as a test set tic MIPLIB instance collection and randomly generated instances. 1
Results: Our computational results on a wide set of instances from the literature vas successfull in showing the possibilities for the rnulti-tableau relaxation, and is a widelly cited paper.

(Aria! or Verdana, font size 10). <Begin to write here> This project has contributed iii advancing algorithrnic techniques to iinprove our abi!ity in solving general MIP problems, common in industry ranging frorn clectricity markets, to nhining planning. We tested our general techriiques on a wide rarige of problerns frorn the literature iii optimization showing that there is an advantage in them, and further showing our necessity in improving our understanding and improving our algorithmic irnplerrientations. 1
