Overnight stays in collective nohotel accommodation decrease 3% in June, as compared with the same month in 20 Overnight stays in nohotel tourist accommodation (holiday dwellings, campsites and rural tourism establishments) exceeded 9.4 million in June, 3% less than in the same month of the previous year. The decrease in overnight stays was recorded for both residents, whose interannual rate decreased 2%, and noresidents, who presented an interannual rate of - 3.5%. The average stay grew 4.1% as compared with June 20, standing at 5.6 nights per traveller. During the first half of the year, overnight stays decreased 1.2%, as compared with the same period the previous year. Overnight stays by resident travellers decreased 1.2%, as was the case with noresidents. The decrease in overnight stays was recorded for both residents, whose interannual rate stood at -6.5%, and noresidents, who presented a variation of -3.6%. Available holiday dwellings decreased 2.3%, exceeding 517,000 bedplaces. This month, 39.3% of the total available bedplaces were occupied, 2.1% less than in June 20. 2 Noresident overnight stays in holiday dwellings represented 75.9% of the total. The United Kingdom was the main country of origin, with more than two million overnight stays, 4.2% less than in June of last year. The following market was Germany, with over 820,850 overnight stays and an interannual rate of -18.8%. Canarias was the preferred holiday dwelling destination, with 2.2 million overnight stays, 3.6% less than in June 20. Illes Balears was the second destination of choice, with more than 1.7 million overnight stays, 5.8% less. Among noresidents, Canarias, Illes Balears and Cataluña were the main destinations of choice. On the other hand, the destinations with the most overnight stays of resident travellers were Canarias, Comunitat Valenciana and Cataluña. Comunidad de Madrid presented the highest occupancy rate, with 72.5% of available holiday dwellings occupied. It was followed by Illes Balears (67.8%) and Andalucía (54.6%). By tourist area, the island of Mallorca was the preferred destination in this accommodation modality, with more than 1.1 million overnight stays in June and an occupancy rate of 75.6%. San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Tias and Calvià were the tourist sites registering the highest number of overnight stays. Prices for holiday dwellings increase 1.9% in June The Holiday Dwelling Price Index registered a 1.9% increase in June, a rate one point lower than that recorded the previous month. The tour-operator and travel agency rate, which carried the greatest weight in the weighting structure for this month (56.7%), registered a 2.6% interannual rate increase. Overnight stays by resident travellers increased 0.3%, while those by noresidents decreased 3.7%. Tourist campsites offered more than 698 thousand bedplaces, 1.0% more than in the same month of % of the available lots were occupied, for a 1.2% decrease in the interannual rate. The weekend occupancy rate reached 36.4%, that is, 2.6% more than in June % of overnight stays on tourist campsites were by noresidents. The Netherlands was the main country of origin, with 24.4% of overnight stays by noresidents (6.5% more). The following country of origin was the United Kingdom. Cataluña was the preferred destination for camping, with 1.5 million overnight stays, 2.8% less than in June 20. Comunitat Valenciana was the second destination of choice, with more than 379,000 overnight stays, indicating an increase of 8.1%. Among noresidents, the preferred destinations were Cataluña, Comunitat Valenciana and Andalucía, and they were, in the same order, the destinations with the most overnight stays by resident travellers. La Rioja reached the highest occupancy rate on campsites in June, with 61.5% of the available lots occupied. It was followed by Comunidad de Madrid (51.4%) and Comunitat Valenciana (46.2%). By tourist area, Costa Brava was the preferred destination for camping, with more than 765,000 overnight stays in June. Costa del Maresme recorded the highest occupancy rate by lot (61.5%). The tourist sites with the most overnight stays were Blanes, Salou and Torroella de Montgrí. Prices of tourist campsites increase 4.4% Interannual variation rate TCPI The Tourist Campsite Price Index experienced an interannual growth of 4.4% in June. The normal rate, which had the greatest weight in the weight structure for this month (70.5%), increased 4.4%. 4 Overnight stays by residents in rural tourism accommodation increase 5.2% in June as compared with the same month of the previous year Overnight stays in rural tourism accommodation surpassed 554,000 in June, with an interannual increase of 4.4%. Overnight stays by residents increased 5.2%, and noresident stays increased 1.6%. Rural tourism accommodation offered 117,803 bedplaces, 9.7% more than in June % of these bedplaces were occupied, representing a 4.9% decrease. The weekend occupancy rate stood at 29.6%, that is, 0.9% more. Cataluña was the second destination of choice, with 82,225 overnight stays, 23.7% more. Among noresidents, Illes Balears was the preferred destination. On the other hand, the destinations with the most overnight stays by resident travellers were Castilla y León, Cataluña and Cantabria. In June, Illes Balears reached the highest occupancy rate in rural tourism accommodation, with 56.6% of the available bedplaces occupied. It was followed by País Vasco (25.2%) and Cataluña (21.8%). By tourist area, the island of Mallorca was the preferred destination, with 53 thousand overnight stays. This area also reached the highest occupancy rate, 57.9%. 5 Annex Evolution of travellers and overnight stays in all Spanish collective tourist accommodation Overnight stays in all Spanish collective tourist accommodation (hotels, holiday dwellings, campsites and rural tourism accommodation) registered a 2.4% interannual decrease in June. Resident overnight stays decreased 3.2%, and noresident overnight stays decreased 2.0%. The average stay grew 1.0% and stood at 3.7 nights per traveller. It was followed by Cataluña, with 6.9 million overnight stays (1.7% less) and Canarias, with more than six million overnight stays (0.9% more). The preferred destinations of noresidents were Illes Balears, Cataluña and Canarias. On the other hand, Andalucía, Cataluña and Comunitat Valenciana were the destinations with the most overnight stays by residents.
