8 La importancia de la nota del Impacto La INNOVACIÓN en los criterios de evaluación Different aspects of innovation are embedded in each of the 3 evaluation criteria used for selecting projects Private sector, investors (VCs, BAs) and market experts will be secured for panels evaluating proposals. Criteria will be interpreted by evaluators within the context of the topic addressed by the proposal, taking into account the WP text, the type of action and the nature of the proposed activities. 8 (22/04/2016)

17 Primera pista : el topic CO-CREATION IA This will boost innovation and entrepreneurship capacity It will thereby empower young innovators across Europe, provide for innovative business models and give them tools to engage in society In the long run the topic contributes to higher youth employment and to creating new markets and new jobs. Proposals should include a business case and exploitation strategy, as outlined in the Introduction to the LEIT part of this Work Programme Propose outline business plans which include the assessment of the potential impact of the proposed value chains in terms of EU jobs and growths in the short and medium term. 18 Segunda pista : Anexo H + Call Fiche Anexo H + For single-stage and second-stage evaluations, the threshold for the criteria Excellence and Impact will be 4. The overall threshold, applying to the sum of the three individual scores, will be 12. 19 Tercera pista : Introducción General As reflected in the expected impact statements of the calls for proposals, impact together with excellence are important elements of the Work Programme. Clearer and stronger expected impacts are an important aspect of the presentation of the Work Programme. Where appropriate, this includes aspects such as business potential, service orientation, understanding of user and customer needs, and skills development. Also important are the potential synergies with European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) which will be promoted. The European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) will invest up to 90 billion in innovation and research in the period and therefore, Art. 20 of the Horizon 2020 Regulation and Article 37 Rules for Participation encourage synergies between Horizon 2020 and other European Union funds, such as ESIF. 19 (22/04/2016)

20 Tercera pista : Introducción General LEIT - These are areas of key industrial competences determining Europe s global competitiveness. Aiming at new and breakthrough technologies, this part of the programme will contribute to boosting competitiveness, creating jobs and supporting growth. The business case should demonstrate the expected impact of the proposal in terms of enhanced market opportunities and manufacturing capacities for European enterprises, and thus growth and jobs in Europe, in the short to medium term. It should describe the targeted market, in terms of targeted sectors; estimated size in Europe and globally; user and customer needs; and demonstrate that the solutions will match the market and user needs in a costeffective manner; and describe the expected market position and competitive advantage. 20 (22/04/2016)

21 Tercera pista : Introducción General For TRLs 6-7, a credible strategy to achieve future full-scale manufacturing in Europe is expected, indicating the commitments of the industrial partners after the end of the project (including financial commitments). In the case of demonstrators and pilot lines, the planned use and expected impact from using the final installation should be considered. The exploitation strategy should be realistic and identify obstacles, requirements and necessary actions: Improved material/product robustness and reliability; Addressing European value chains; Securing an industrial integrator; Availability of large-scale testing, pilot and manufacturing facilities; Standardisation; Product approval by regulatory and/or relevant international bodies; Sustainability of financing (after the EU funding). 21 (22/04/2016)

23 Primera pista : el topic Sinergias con otros fondos Business Plan Proposals for Research & Innovation and for Innovation Actions should include an outline of the initial exploitation and business plans, which will be developed further in the proposed project. For these topics, these initial plans may address private funds, or assess synergies and possible cumulative funding with relevant national / regional research and innovation programmes and/or European Structural and Investment Funds related to smart specialisation strategies. For this purpose the tools provided by the Smart Specialization Platform, Eye@RIS322 may be useful. 35 Cómo preparar el apartado Impacto Es importante tener bien presentes al menos tres documentos durante la redacción de la propuesta: 1- El criterio de evaluación que se describe en el Manual del Evaluador. (P.ej. Efectividad de las acciones destinadas a diseminación y explotación de resultados - El plan de trabajo deberá tener tareas específicas que aseguren la efectividad de dicho plan de diseminación). 2- El listado del impacto esperado ( Expected Impacts ) descrito en cada una de las convocatorias publicadas en los programas de trabajo. Los resultados esperados del proyecto deben de responder al impacto esperado, y por lo tanto el plan de trabajo, los socios, y el TRL de las tecnologías seleccionadas deben dar respuesta a este apartado. 3- La plantilla de la propuesta ( Proposal Template ) describe en dos páginas qué debe de contener el apartado impacto. 35 (22/04/2016)

Expected impact Redacción del apartado impacto: Template Expected impact listed in the work programme: Vamos listando uno a uno cada uno de los impactos citados intentando plasmar la necesidad actual y cómo el proyecto en cuestión da respuesta a éstos. Imprescindible cuantificar y ser concretos. Se describe el efecto del resultado esperado y cómo se ha optimizado el plan de trabajo y los recursos para obtenerlo. Innovation capacity: (innovations meeting the needs of European and global markets): Intentamos plasmar una fotografía del mercado (Europeo y global) al que va a ir enfocado el resultado del proyecto. Es importante demostrar que el proyecto tiene un interés económico, cuantificando. Environmental and societal impacts: Intentamos resaltar el impacto social y la sostenibilidad medioambiental del proyecto, cuantificando. EUROPA 2020! Barriers/Obstacles (regulations standards): Descripción de condicionantes del sector al que aplica la propuesta: estándares de calidad, legislación, aceptación social, formación, financiación describir cómo hemos planteado la propuesta teniendo esto en cuenta de forma que optimicemos los resultados y reduzcamos los tiempos de desarrollo. 61 Impacto en H Conclusiones El impacto no es una parte independiente de la memoria. El diseño del proyecto, el consorcio, las tecnologías seleccionadas así como el plan de trabajo, deben responder al impacto esperado. Debemos de impregnar con este mensaje toda la propuesta, y no dejarlo como un apartado independiente. En H2020 se busca optimizar los resultados de la investigación dando lugar a productos que lleguen al mercado. Debemos desarrollar nuevas tecnologías, conceptos y productos, pero generando una estructura que nos ayude a optimizar los resultados y su explotación. DISEÑO de un Plan de Negocio preliminar, plan de explotación y de difusión + comunicación. 61 (22/04/2016)

62 Impacto en H Conclusiones Los paneles de evaluación tienden a ser cada vez más generalistas. Debemos de plasmar claramente cuáles son las necesidades del mercado, e intentar entender porqué la comisión pide dicho impacto esperado. Debemos intentar conocer cuáles son las recomendaciones de las plataformas tecnológicas, por ejemplo. Nos darán una idea clara de cual el la fotografía real de la situación, y debemos de plasmarla en la memoria. Debemos de contestar de la manera más objetiva y cuantificable posible a: Cuál es el resultado esperado del proyecto? Quién y porqué requiere esos resultados? Hay un plan establecido para hacer llegar los resultados a su objetivo? Y rápido!! Resumen 62 (22/04/2016)
