2 CHILDREN S FAITH FORMATION REGISTRATION Registration for the Children's Faith Formation & Sacramental Preparation programs will be on Sunday, June 1st, 10:00am - 1:00pm and Sunday June 8th, 10:00am - 1:00pm in the Lally Building. This is a NEW REGIS- TRATION process for all families. Packets will not be mailed over the summer to your home. Registration forms are available in the parish office for you to complete at home and bring with you to the Registration Sessions. This registration is for all Pre-K through High School Faith Formation Ministries & Programs at St Lucy's. Contact Irma or Andrew for details. The ADA TEAM would like to thank the more than 492 families who contributed to the ADA this year! We are very grateful to the St. Lucy community for their generosity in meeting our financial goal of $175,433. We thank our Team of ladies who faithfully served us this past year at the 9:00am Mass. Sue Grover, Mary Smith, Elena Kemp, Vian Davis & Grace Romero! As we begin making plans for next year s Children s Liturgy of the Word, we are looking for a few Dads and Moms to join our team. You ll be fully trained and you ll fall more in love with the Word of God. We are looking at expanding to the 11:00am Mass too! If you feel the tug on your heart to help our little ones understand the Sunday readings better (and help their parents not become distracted during the Liturgy of the Word), we d love to have you! Starting on May 18 th, our parishioner Oscar Lombardi will attempt to complete the pilgrimage to the Holy City of Santiago de Compostela for a second time. This time he will walk the northern route which goes along the northern coast of Spain for 300 miles and then turns towards the mountains and Santiago for the last 200 miles. 7 THE WAY In today s Gospel reading we hear part of Jesus discourse at the Last Supper as reported in the Gospel of John. I am the way and the truth and life, Jesus assures his disciples. At that time they did not understand what he meant; they wanted easy answers. Just show us the Father, Philip begged. But the first and second readings show us how the early church came to understand Jesus words. The amazing growth of the church led them to select seven men to do the works of service needed with so many new members. The followers of Jesus had grown in such numbers that Peter could exclaim in his Letter over the fact that Christ, the rejected stone, was now the cornerstone on whom the salvation of all the world rests. Soy el camino, la verdad y la vida, Jesús asegura a sus discípulos. En ese momento no entendieron lo que él les quería decir, ellos buscaban respuestas sencillas.
