1 You ve heard of a marathon: This is a SCALE-A-THON Sponsored by Casa Bernabe to help send the band kids of Casa Bernabe to attend Music Camp Guatemala in Chimaltenango June 24-30, All donations will go into the band fund from which we will pay for the kids to attend band camp, not for specific kids use. There are 15 kids on the list to go. Our goal: $6,400 or aprox Q50,000. The Scale-a-Thon is a series of 15 scales & 15 arpeggios that will be played by each student on May 3-5 before a jury. For each scale and each arpeggio played correctly they will "earn" the money that you pledge to give. You can pledge to donate per scale or donate a specific amount. If you choose to pledge one student's scales and all are played correctly then a pledge of $1 would mean a donation of $30 (please let me know which student you want to pledge for). Each member of the advanced and intermediate bands will be participating in the Scale a-thon so even if that band member is not going, they are helping to earn the money for the other to go. If pledging for 5 kids and they play all the scales and arpeggios correctly, a pledge of $1 would mean a donation of $150. (1x30x5) You can pledge/ give any amount. We are hoping to take 15 kids plus Vivian. Our Mission is to give assistance to orphan children in need of education, medical attention, and/or protection. The Goal of Casa Bernabé is to provide for the physical, mental, spiritual, social, emotional and educational needs of orphan children: teaching them discipline, respect, obedience and excellence in the love of God The Goal of the Band is to provide musical instruction & Training on instruments as preparation for the kids to become worship leaders, and/or music lovers, and see how God can use music to open doors in their lives and for the gospel. Casa Bernabé provides: -Educational programs (Christian School of Casa Bernabe ) -Vocational programs (bakery, carpentry shop, beauty shop, kitchen, metal working shop, gardening) -Music Dance and Drama programs (Performing Arts Group, Hebrew Dance Group,) -Discipleship programs for spiritual growth (Performing Arts Group, Youth Group, Family devotionals, Home Church, Verbo Church of Casa Bernabe, Sunday School, ) IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP FURTHER: Be a partner in taking the pledge sheet around to your circle of influence and ask your friends to sponsor one or more of the kids. Ask your local band, or youth group if they would like to be a partner too by looking for sponsors. SPECIAL NEEDS: Each of the kids who attend camp will need to bring their own sleeping bag. Most of the Casa Bernabe kids do not have a sleeping bag. You can help by sending a sleeping bag or sponsoring to buy one here. ALSO: Music Camp Guatemala still has a few openings for counselors to help with the camp. If you know a committed Christian, university-age young person who is bilingual and who has a desire to impact eternity by serving at the Music Camp Guatemala, then please have them contact the camp via the webpage:

Por cada Escala y Arpegio tocado correctamente ganarán el dinero que usted prometerá de patrocinar. Puede hacer su promesa de donación por cada escala y arpegio tocado correctamente; o bien, puede hacer su promesa de donación por una cantidad específica.
